  1. I flagged a team member down randomly once as he was walking around the store. I had the item with me and asked him if it was being marked down today. We were pretty far away from the section where the item belonged. He scanned the item with his PDA told me the current price it was coming up as, and then said it was going to be marked down to 75% off and that the mark down team probably hadn't gotten to it yet. I took the item to the cashier afterwards and it scanned as the 75% off price. I don't think the orange sticker thing had anything to do with his scanner at the time though.
  2. Once the item is scanned with the discounted price, it should be that new price when you bring it up to the registers. I did that during the toy clearance -- if the markdown team didn't get to my item yet, I would bring it to them to see if it was going to be marked down, they'd scan it, and if it was discounted more, that's all that needed to be done (it was in their system once it was scanned with the PDA).
  3. If the item is on clearance and you enter the numbers in the price checker, most likely the system will tell you it is not in stock. If you want to know if any of your stores have them in stock, you will need to check with Guest Services. If you are at the store, just tell them you have a DPCI and want to know if any nearby stores have the item and they will tell you what the count is at each store in your area. This count is not always accurate when it is a clearance item, especially when the count is under 3. Just keep that in mind. You can also do this over the phone by calling your local Target.
  4. Bummer. I wish I had kept a copy of the first message I wrote. I did it through Target.com (not my email), so I don't have a copy of the message. Now I know better for next time. I'm so annoyed by the whole thing and how they dismissed it. Anyhow, thanks for the tip about sending it to the CEO. I will definitely keep that in mind next time. I have always been told that clearance items can not be placed on hold....for guests or employees.
  5. I had an issue with 2 different employees (at the same store) "holding" items during the summer toy clearance. Both employees were in uniform, with their badges, scanning items to be marked 75% off. I went to the store first thing in the morning to see if I could get a Step 2 picnic table and a Little Tikes Swing. I saw one swing that was left and picked it up and continued to walk down the aisle looking for other stuff. An employee came up to me and said the swing was hers and that she already purchased it. I thought it was really odd (since she was in uniform), but I gave it back to her and just went on with my business (letting the incident go). Then I went to another aisle and saw the Step 2 picnic table in a shopping cart. Another employee (also in uniform) was scanning toys with her PDA and tossing them in the same shopping basket as the picnic table box. I asked her if I could by the picnic table and she told me it was damaged. I said "Really? Because it looks brand new." (still sealed, no damage to the box). So, I told her, "I'm interested in buying it." She then told me it was going to be salvaged. I told her I was surprised since it just went 75% off this morning. She said again that it was damaged and was going to be salvaged and then just ignored me. By this time, I was annoyed since there were two different incidents with two different employees. I went to Guest Services, asked for the GSTL, told him what had happened, and after going 'round and 'round, the GSTL brought the picnic table to me and said I could purchase it. He told me that employees are only allowed to purchase items on their break or when they are "off the clock". I wrote a long, detailed complaint/message to Target indicating everything that happened, included the store location, the employee's first name, and the name of the GSTL I spoke with. This is the response I received back: Dear XXXX, I'm glad you've taken the time to write us about your experience. We’re sorry you didn't receive the type of service you've come to expect at Target. The team members attitude you described isn't part of our guest service philosophy. We expect our team members to help you in a professional manner. Hearing your comments is very important to us, and I’ll make sure to share them with the Store Leadership team for further review. In order for me to correctly document the store, please reply with the store location or address. While you're in the store, you can always visit the Guest Service Desk and ask to speak with the Guest Service Team Leader. They'll do their best to help you. In the meantime, we'll keep working to provide you with the service you deserve. Thanks for helping us make Target even better. Sincerely, Glenn Target Guest Relations www.target.com (800) 440-0680 ----------------------- I thought it was a rather "generic" response to my detailed complaint. Plus, it didn't even seem like they read my message because it tells me I can talk to a GSTL at Guest Services, which I clearly stated in my message that I did, because I provide the GSTL's name and the conversations I had with him AND it asks for the location of the store (which I also provided in my original complaint). I responded back to Target stating I was disappointed in their response to my complaint and wrote how they didn't address my issue or even read my message. I even pointed out the reasons why I didn't think they read my message in detail. It's been over 2 weeks now, and I never got another response from them after sending my 2nd message. I'm quite disappointed, since I am a very frequent Target shopper.
  6. I ordered Thomas and Toby on the 13th and got an email from Learning Curve on Thurs (22nd) that my items shipped.
  7. I'm in CA also (N. CA), but I don't think any my Targets have started this yet. Is the information posted around the registers or anything?
  8. I have never seen this at any of my Targets (there are more than 10 in my area that I can go to). Was it an internet return? Did it have a regular little red sticker or was it one that says "As is" with a white bar on it? Either way, that was definitely a great deal! Great find!
  9. I checked the Playskool section and even looked at all the tags to see if it was just OOS, but there wasn't even a tag for the item.
  10. I went to 2 Targets today and neither one of them had the sit n spin on their shelf. There wasn't even a tag for it (like it had been OOS)....they just didn't carry it. It's odd because it's in their ad this week. I even went to TRU (which is next door to one of the Targets), but they don't match prices. I guess I'll have to make my way to Walmart to see if I can find one.
  11. Are the GPS units part of electronics or automotive? There are some on clearance and I'm trying to figure out what day they do the markdowns so I can get one for cheap. :)
  12. The griddles finally went 50% off at one of my stores. There are still a lot left, so I'm hoping they will go 75% next week and I can get my hands on one.
  13. I ordered them yesterday too (Thomas and Toby) and got free shipping. I didn't create an account but put my email address when I made the order. I didn't get anything in my email. Has anyone else? I just want to make sure my order went through! ETA: I just checked my spam folder and there it was! Also, I tried ordering two more just now and it still gives free shipping with Toby included too.
  14. If you are at a store, go to Guest Services and give them the DPCI number and ask them which nearby stores have it in stock. They can tell you how many each store has. The system isn't always accurate, especially for clearance items. The higher the stock number though, the greater the chance that you will be able to find one at that store. If the number is 1-2, there may/may not be one at that store. However, I've noticed that even if it says zero, I have found them at a store before to. Your other option is to call a target store, ask for Guest Services, and do the same thing over the phone. They will give you that info to. The price scanners won't tell you how many are in stock, only whether or not there are anymore in the stockroom, which it usually says "no" for clearance items anyhow.
  15. I need to get a PS3 controller as a gift. Where can I get one with a good price. I'm looking for an authentic one, not one made by an outside vendor. Thanks :)
  16. I have seen the beertender accessory kits on clearance at some of my stores. I have my eye on the griddles that are only 30% off ($14.98). It seems like they haven't budged for weeks. Anyone seen them go 50% or even 75% at your store?
  17. I got lucky today and got one of those fireplaces that was from the summer patio clearance. It only had a 50% off sticker on it so I punched the DPCI on one of the scanners to see if it was 75% off. It came up as INF so I went to Guest Services and asked the manager to look up the last selling price on it. Turns out it was $34.98, so she sold it to me for that amount. I had 3 employees tell me what a great deal it was. It was such a pleasant shopping experience to have such a nice GSTL.
  18. My Kmart has an additional 50% off clearance toys. It doesn't seem like there are as many toys this time, but maybe there are some that are on clearance but don't have a yellow tag (which was the case for lots of toys last time). There were several tables with clearance toys, though I can't remember the price for all of them. Here's what I got: Tag Reader Case - $4.00 Elmo Farm - $5.50
  19. The skull candy headphones aren't on clearance at my Targets.
  20. It's really helpful when people post the DPCI numbers. I have several Targets in my area (over 10 of them) and I usually call them to see which stores have the items I'm looking for in stock. I know their count isn't guaranteed for clearance items, but it gives me an idea of which stores to go to and which ones might be a waste of my time. If you can, please post the DPCI numbers with your deals. :) ### 056.05.0507 Disney pix frame (hannah montana and fairies faceplates) - (orig. $74.99) $18.74 ### 056.05.0308 Diego rugged digital camera (orig. $49.99) - $12.48 ### 056.05.0612 Mickey Mouse Clubhouse digital camera (orig. $59.99) - $14.98 ### 056.05.0505 Pink Disney Pix Click digital camera (orig. $49.99) - $12.48 ### 056.05.0609 Hello Kitty digital camera (orig. $49.99) - $12.48 ### 204.12.0907 Play Wonder Kitchen Accessories Set (orig. $14.99) - $5.23 (65% off) ### 097.04.0314 Circo Medium Blue Wooden Bin - $6.24 (75% off) ### 097.04.0388 Circo Blue "car" shelf - $4.98 (75% off)
  21. At my stores, they are located in the Electronics department, very close to the area where the Electronics cash register is. The kids camcorders and cameras are in their own little aisle, in the same area as the digital photo frames.
  22. I'm sorry but it seems as if you already knew the $10 off coupon was for the Tag System and the $4 off coupon was for Tag Books. Why would you even give/show the cashier the $10 off coupon if you were only buying books? Even if you accidently picked up the wrong coupon and the cashier accepted it and it scanned, you knew it was for the system and used it anyhow. I'm all for a getting great deals too, but not when it involves being dishonest. I'm not trying to "attack you", just stating my honest opinion on this forum. This forum is about posting clearance deals. I don't want to start read messages all the time about how people are starting to "cheat" the system by using coupons that aren't for the item they are purchasing (just because it scans doesn't mean it's okay to do it) or purchasing something and switching it for something else (i.e., green vs. pink tag reader). These things are just dishonest ways to get things for cheaper and I personally think it's just wrong to do it and "encourage" others to do it also. I went to Target the other day to purchase the Tag Books that were on sale for $9.99. I gave the cashier my $4 off coupon and she thoroughly inspected it and then asked me where I got the coupon. I told her it was from the Leapfrog website. She looked at me (as if I was trying to do something dishonest), scanned the coupon, was surprised that it went through, and then said "we've been getting a lot of coupons for these things that aren't legitimate". I just said "Really? I got that one from the Leapfrog website"...and that was that. I just hope that Target doesn't decide to stop accepting printed coupons because they are getting misused. Okay. I said what I needed to and now I'm done.... And to make this an actual post about a clearance item... ### Bright Starts Bounce Bounce Baby Activity Zone - 30% off
  23. Instead of carrying the big box to a scanner, go to one that has numbers on it and enter the DCPI. That will save you some heavy lifting! :)
