  1. You can also use the number by taking it to guest services and asking them to locate stock at other stores or see if they have more in the back if you are searching. You can use it to call and ask the price for the item by DPCI to see if it has dropped. You can also use it to ask anyone with a PDA (price scanner gun) to see if they have more in the store or to give you the price.
  2. Yup. That's right. They do it anytime there is a little extra time between holidays/seasons. They might do it between Vday & Easter this year since Easter is so late. Last year Easter was VERY early, so they barely had time to get it out. Hard to say this year if they'll bother. They generally go straight from Easter to Summer, then clear out Summer in July and do bulk for a while before Back to School & Halloween.
  3. I have generally seen them refuse it completely. hard to say what they would do at your store. No chance Walmart carries it, is there? They will always take it back.
  4. It depends on the price. If it is less than $35 (I think that is the new cutoff), they'll let you return it on your ID if you haven't already used up your 2 for the year.
  5. It really varies by child. My oldest could only wear Pampers and the size wasn't a big deal, as you say. But DS2 was another story entirely. He could not wear Pampers at all, only Huggies. There was just something about the cut of them, and he would leak everywhere. And as soon as he hit certain sizes he had to go up. He wore 4s for a long time, but there came a point where he had to go to a 5. It was so strange and different from his brother!
  6. Not all the comments on product quality are regarding toys. For example the Kurv, electric broom, etc. We have spent more useless space lambasting fellow members for things some people find inappropriate than commenting on product quality. That is why a couple of pages of posts were removed by Brad. But he hasn't weighed in on our recent comments. When they get out of hand, it is one thing, but they haven't been a big deal, and have helped people on the thread. Anyone know if the Aussie Grills went on down today? They were still 50% yesterday at my closest store.
  7. Ugh! I really want this, but I know DH will have a cow if I bring it home. He'll want to know where I am going to put it...
  8. LOL! I was walking through one of my regular stores today and one of the markdown team shouted out to me in the aisle, "hey, lady! how are you doing today? We need to put you to work since you are here so much!" It is a bit of a joke with my friends, too, asking if I am at my second home...One of them I am always calling to see if they want this or that. She picked up a gift card for me to use to buy stuff for her!
  9. LOL! Just happened to drive by the local one 3 times today driving to and from the kids school, and the line never abated. It was still going strong at 2pm. Afraid you'd have to pay me to do it, but to each his own....
  10. stopped back by to check on quilts, and double checked. most were 30%. a few 50%. didn't see much specifically for kids, but stuff that would work for sure.
  11. Didn't look terribly closely because we just got a lamp for Christmas from my mom. There was a pretty wide variety. Think they were 30%.
  12. Global Bazaar 50% here also. No movement on linens. Saw a number of lamps marked down today. Loads of those digital snowglobe things at the Lake store in Pasadena.
  13. We got a decent one at Macy's back when we got married, but Target carries them on their website. The good ones aren't cheap, but we also use the main pot as a good big soup pot and such. You want a heavy bottom and good 18/10 steel for a good quality one. But if you just need a cheap one, I'd get the old enamel one (like camping dishes) and run with it. Those pots are pretty sturdy.
  14. Get a pasta pot! Much easier! The insert with the holes just sits in the water, then you pull it out of the pot to drain. Life got much easier when I got one! And you can get inexpensive ones. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31E1915NPML._SL500_AA280_.jpg
  15. They brought out those fire trucks last Thursday at our store, and they were 30% off. I just happened to notice and chatted with the toy manager about them. Sounds like just the standard stuff, probably a few new items clearanced.
  16. Depends. What did you find? It could be your store found some stuff in the back. They could be behind or ahead of other stores. Maybe they got some clearance stuff shipped in from another store. Or, it could be new clearance. They do clearance throughout the year, not just during their big clearance "events." If they introduced some items since the reset or even later in the fall that aren't doing well, they'll clearance them now. They are constantly reviewing what they have and what they'll continue to stock. They could need shelf space to make way for some new merchandise that is coming in. Something that is selling well in other stores that they think will do better than what you are seeing on clearance. So, do let us know what you found, and maybe we'll have a better idea.
  17. It is a fun online game. Sort of geared toward elementary age boys. Like Webkinz or Neopets in that you get an online character for each one you buy. However, different in that each one opens up a different portion of the game, and if you buy the rare or very rare versions of each character (there are 3 versions per character) you get additional features.
  18. That was the way my Kurv was! Really crummy!
  19. been looking for something like this. what department? with the lunch boxes and thermos or elsewhere?
  20. Dang! A number of people have mentioned helmets, and I haven't been able to find ANY on clearance. DS was in dire need of one. The little kiddie ones are too babyish for him anyway, but usually they have several on sale this time of year. It nearly killed me to pay full price for one the other day!
  21. You should really report that to the 800 number or website. There is no call for that nastiness, and the only way it improves is if it is reported. If you have your receipt, they'll know exactly who it was.
  22. yes, as fluffkin79 said, they are sometimes very off on their inventory. If it said they had 7 of something large, you would normally expect those to actually be there, but 1 or 2 is often just error on the inventory. Heck, even if you figure a 1-3% error rate on their inventory, when you consider the overall size of the inventory, you can see how it happens.
