  1. I have a Samsonite like this: http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/rwg_1936_6855902 I bought the cheapest shower curtain I could find to put over everything before we zip it shut...just to be sure. It went through a total downpour and the curtain did the trick. The stuff was dry but the curtain was a bit damp. Several of my friends have borrowed it and gone through rain with no problems but they draped the shower curtain for good measure also. We also used some plastic zip tie things to help secure it to the top of the van.http://www.sheldonbrown.com/images/zip-ties.jpg
  2. Some of the best reactions I have gotten for baby gifts have come from books. I've gotten a huge colorful sandbucket or a basket and filled it with all different kinds of children's books....from the little tiny books that are great to carry around in a diaper bag to the big thick chubby books to Little Golden Books.
  3. How cool ~ that HAS to be your review they have posted on the website! Look at the top of this page : http://www.salesigns.info/Default.aspx
  4. Snapfish. I've been very happy with them.
  5. http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/101500/HP-Pavilion-dv6810us-Widescreen-Notebook-Computer/ This is a good deal from Office Depot for 599. I was helping my dd's best friend look for one and this is the one she got. I think today is the last day for the sale though. She loves it. I had already gotten dd one (it's an HP with almost exactly the same specs) or I would have gotten this for her, too.
  6. How about this one: http://www.coldwatercreek.com/Products/Product.aspx?productid=40612&ensembleid=46505
  7. Dd18 got one for Christmas (one of the 30gb) and she absolutely LOVES it. Barely puts it down.
  8. Got my dd18 a Zune for Christmas and she has barely put it down. She LOVES it.
  9. Tracfones here. Love 'em. No complaints. My dd18 has one. I wanted a really small one I could stick in my pocket, so when I got that, I passed my bigger phone to dd10. She thinks she's a big deal and usually leaves it in her backpack in case of some emergency but typically uses it to call me when it is time to pick her up, etc. Neither dd uses them just for chatting. Even dd18 uses it very little. She probably uses hers most for text messaging. They have a new family plan that we'll probably switch to when it is time for my annual renewal. I always look for deals and codes when it is time to add minutes but we usually do the yearly plan. They have an international plan, too. I have never used it but if your son will be in London, it might be something you want to check into.
  10. My dd (18) HAD to have this for Christmas. Blasted thing is Still in the box.
  11. I've looked at all the sites listed so far in the past couple of years, except directtextbook. I've also used Overstock.com, ebay, and Barnes and Noble. I think it just depends on the book and who happens to have it at a good price at the time.
  12. After you get one, take it with you to your next doctor's appt. Compare the reading they get in the office with what you get when you take it with your monitor. That way, not only can you make sure it is accurate but the doc can see that you will be getting accurate readings at home.
  13. I was in the same boat. I had been paying rent to have one and we had been having internet issues where we were constantly having to reset the modem. During troubleshooting, I kept asking if it could possibly be the modem itself.....of course, they kept saying no. I finally got disgusted and figured either way it was better if we bought one. I got a very gently used Motorola on ebay and haven't had a single problem since. Just remember to return the old one to the cable folks so they stop the charges. =)
  14. http://www.theultimatesteal.com/store/msshus/ContentTheme/pbPage.microsoft_office_ultimate I thought it was over, too, but I did some digging and found an active link. Sorry, I should have posted it. On the next screen of the link, you type in your email addy and then they email you a password to use. What's the feedback folks? Do you love it or hate it?
  15. What is the feedback from those of you who purchased this? I have read some reviews from various other sites and they run the gamut - from love it to hate it. I am on the fence but it seems like such an awesome deal, it is hard to pass up.
  16. Mine finally came today. It looks a little flimsy but I am already amazed at how much cooler the laptop is. It is very quiet and I just can't believe the difference in temperature! I had just emailed them yesterday because the tracking number was coming up as unidentified or something. I was beginning to think it was lost.
  17. Try this link. It should take you right to the portability info. I have never done it myself, so I can't speak from experience on that topic. When I was checking out the portability, I noticed that they have 100 bonus minutes for switching your number if you get a double minute or 1 year plan. https://www.tracfone.com/portability.jsp?nextPage=portability.jsp&task=portability The minutes themselves don't expire, it is the service time that expires. For example, if you got 800 minutes for 365 days and at the end of the 365 days, still had 400 minutes left....you would still have the minutes but you would need to add time to the service for the phone to stay active. So, a day or two before the 365 are up, add minutes/service time. If you don't add service time within a few days (I'm not sure exactly how many), you lose your phone number. Yes, they do have text messaging. I doublechecked that model and it does have text. It deducts partial minutes for text...so it is cheaper. They also have some fairly new value plans. I think we will probably do the family plan for my dd and me when we renew. I hope this makes sense. I worked midnights last night and I am ready to hit the hay!
  18. I'm always up for a better deal, so I checked it out. Here is the message I got: "T-Mobile does not currently provide service in the 26XXX area. However, we are continuously expanding service, so please check back again." So...I'll stick with my Tracfone for now.
  19. I usually get the 1 year of service for $99 and 400 or 500 minutes, depending on whether there is a bonus offer going at the time. That is about 20 cents/minute by my calculation. They are currently having a special of 400 min plus 200 min (with bonus code 50900) and a year of service. If I was going to buy the phone mentioned by the OP, I'd do the 400 and double it (I don't think you'd be able to use the extra 200 min bonus also but I'm not sure). That would be 800 minutes for about 14 cents/minute. I don't use mine for much chatting, just a few calls here and there, so it is great for me. There is no way I could get a year of service anywhere else for about a $100. I just looked at their site and they also this for the Flip phone lovers: Motorola W370 $49.99 Includes Double Minutes for Life- ( a $ 49.99 value) FREE ! Flip phone with vivid color display from the designers of the MOTORAZR™ MP3 Ringtones plus Downloadable ringtones and graphics Built in Hands-free Speaker phone
  20. I love my Tracfone! The double minutes makes that a great deal. That would be great for a kid who has been bugging you for a phone...stick it in the Easter basket.
  21. I would say yes, the binder should fit. It looks pretty roomy. Our UPS guy delivered it about 6pm and my dd spent the evening telling me how awesome it is. The lighted stripes on it are totally cool. If your kid has to be out in the dark, before or after school, this would be absolutely terrific. There is a fairly small removable, rechargeable battery pack that fits in one of the shoulder straps. It has an on/off button so you can switch from off to on to flashing. The stripes are on the straps so they can be seen on the front of your body when you're wearing the pack and there are stripes on the main body of the pack also. If you would choose not to used the lighted stripes, they look like regular reflective stripes. Extremely happy with the purchase! Would buy again in a heartbeat. Thanks to OP! Great deal!!!!
