  1. AAAAARGH. I got an email back from target.com's customer service saying they can't find my order using my email address and said I must have placed it on amazon.com so I should take it up with them, or else email them from the address I used to place my target order. I didn't order from Amazon, I ordered from Target's website itself. Using the same email address I contacted them. I have an order confirmation email at that email address and everything, which I copied and pasted for them in my reply. Why is this so difficult??? I'm going to be out all morning and if I don't come home to an email saying they found my original order and will be letting me order a replacement at the same price I paid, I'm calling them and speaking to a supervisor. It is just so wrong for this to be so much of a hassle.
  2. I really hate how companies arbitrarily do things like this. I ordered lightsabers at the BF price on Wed night and they are currently in IL or so, on a UPS truck headed my way. If the price is good for some items early, it should be for all of them.
  3. I bought that last year (and strangely it was cheaper last year!) for my daughter, who was 13 months old at the time. It is still one of her favorite toys this year, plus her older brothers (ages 4 and almost 6) will still play with it. The neighbor kids (same age group) also love to play with it when they come over. It's one of the best toys I've ever bought! :)
  4. Dammit, the f---ing jacket is back up to $59.99! I bought the thing on sale, it didn't fit, I want one that fits for the sale price--and of course the day after I receive the one I ordered and the same day I take it back, the price goes back up! ARGH. I just sent this email to Target...I wonder what they'll do: I am incredibly frustrated with your lack of a way to exchange an order purchased online. I purchased the following item when it was on sale for $41.99: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=2-1/qid=1133387600/ref=sr_2_1/601-1162524-1537704?%5Fencoding=UTF8&asin=B000AUHT2C According to your size charts I needed a size medium, so that is what I ordered. Unfortunately when it was delivered yesterday, I tried it on and it was simply too tight across the back and in the sleeves. I am going to need a large. I called the customer service number and was told I could not receive a replacement; I had to simply return the item and then re-order it. So, today I drove to my local Target store and returned it. I came online to re-order this item in a size large, and the price has gone back up to $59.99! So all because your sizing charts were not accurate for me, I am going to lose out on a savings of $20? That is RIDICULOUS. I ordered this item originally for the price of $41.99 and I want to have it in a size that fits me for that price. What can be done to fix this situation?
  5. I have a 20% off friends & family coupon for Dec 4 as well and it says to use code COMRADE. How very Russian of them, LOL.
  6. I haven't even started. I'm going to have to rearrange all the furniture in my living room to make a tree fit, and I'm just not up to that yet!
  7. I got a jacket for myself that was 30% off, nothing special. My mom made OUT though! I'm so proud of her, LOL! She called me that weekend and told me that she and my sisters went to JCP and she got a winter coat for my sister for $29.99, originally $129.99! And she knows that was the original price too because my sister had her eye on it for awhile and so my mom was tracking the price, hoping it'd come down enough to be affordable. Boy did it, LOL!
  8. My oldest (in kindergarten) will buy for all of us at the school's Santa Shop. I will probably have to take the other two to the dollar store and let the 4 y/o pick out presents too, and find things for the 2 y/o to give as well. Last year I didn't and my oldest asked if they'd gotten him anything--oops, LOL.
  9. Hmm, good to know they can do that. I'll have to remember not to pay cash there, then, just in case. And to update my original post, I drove down there this morning and returned the jacket. My credit card will be credited the amount I paid (minus shipping costs from when I ordered) within 24 hours. Once that happens I'll be able to reorder it online. I still wish that I could have done an even exchange rather than having to wait and reorder, but getting to place the new order 24 hours from now sure beats waiting 3-4 weeks for my refund, which is how long the CSR said it would take if I mailed it back in. Plus no return shipping costs. So at least that much was nice. Now I just have to hope it's still in stock & on sale and my coupon code still works when I place the new order.
  10. For one thing, you have to have a receipt or they won't accept anything back at all. It's kind of a pain to keep track of every receipt for everything you ever buy, just in case you need it in the next 90 days. I can understand that they wouldn't want to be giving refunds on merchandise not sold there, but if it's a Target brand, it's pretty obvious it came from that store. I'm not aware of any other bad policies. Would be interested in stories though.
  11. I live in the middle of nowhere so yes, I only have one local Target. I don't feel like wasting $20 in gas to drive to Nashville and return a jacket. Yes, tags and all packing stuff are all intact. I opened the box, tried on the jacket, it felt too small, I put everything back together. I plan on taking the jacket to my local store, doing the return, and then re-ordering online--but it stinks that I have to do it that way.
  12. I ordered a jacket from target.com because I loved it and it wasn't at my local Target store. I hate ordering clothes when I can't try them on first, but according to their sizing chart, a medium would fit me perfectly--maybe even be a tiny bit big, but it'd fit. So I went ahead and ordered. It was on sale and I had a coupon code to bring the price down a bit more. Well it arrived today and it's too small! It fits but it's just a bit tight across the back and pretty tight in the arms and I know it's not going to be comfortable. So I'm irritated that their sizes were off but I'm even more irritated that they have no exchange policy! All I can do is send it in for a return and then re-order it. I called the toll-free customer service number to see if they could do anything, but the girl I talked to said that they can only issue a replacement if the product is damaged. Too small doesn't count as damaged. So I'm supposed to mail it back in (at my own expense--with a prepaid label that will be paid for by dipping into the amount they refund to me) and then within 3 to 4 weeks they will credit my card. In the meantime I can reorder it. I think instead I'm going to take it to my local Target and see if they will accept it. They don't carry that particular jacket but the website does say that I can either return it by mail or to a store, and at least this way I'll get my money back on the spot and can reorder it faster. If this thing goes on sale or if my coupon code expires, I will wind up paying $60 for a jacket I got for $40 and that just isn't right! So I'm irritated. I suppose I should have read up on the return policy before ordering, but I was so sure it was going to fit, and I have been looking everywhere for a jacket like this and was excited to finally find one that was just what I was looking for. I wish I could be wearing it already...but as it's a Christmas present from my mom (she's sending the money out, I just ordered it ahead of receiving the money because I'm impatient and it was on sale) I suppose it won't kill me to wait another week or two for the bigger size, when I could have had to wait till Christmas. I sure wish Target.com had an actual exchange policy though. It seems stupid for a store that big not to.
  13. My oldest will turn 6 on NYE so we'll have cake and ice cream. And I'll have to have my neighbor over for some late-night drinking after all the kids go to bed LOL.
  14. No clue--I don't buy electronics anywhere near often enough to have an opinion on stores. I go where the low prices are, providing it's a store with a good reputation and not some fly-by-night place that might take my money.
  15. LOL. It felt like that for me last year after BF because I found the site while looking for BF 2004 ads. Seemed strange to be in the Lounge and not talking about BF-related things. Fast forward a year and it felt weird to have the BF forum back up, LOL. You'll get used to it quickly. :)
  16. Exactly. If the country was starving, only a couple people had any food, and they were charging $100 for food that cost a nickel...that would just be wrong. But last time I checked, an xbox or a cabbage patch kid weren't necessary to sustain life. I am all for giving kids a great Christmas...but I also manage my kids' expectations. They know they can want all kinds of toys, but they will actually GET only some of those toys, and they are always quite happy with what I'm able to provide for them. And at ages 4 and almost 6, my boys understand some things are simply too much money and they pick out other items instead, and are thrilled to get those cheaper items. It's not going to destroy anyone's Christmas to not get an xbox...or at least, it sure as heck shouldn't.
  17. I think it's great that you hooked a few GDers up with BF prices on items they weren't able to get. It was nice of you and the type of favor I'd expect to see one friend do for another (which makes it extra nice of you because I'm assuming you don't know these GDers). At the same time, people don't go into business to lose money or to break even. They go into business to make a profit and put food on their table, etc. I see no problem whatsoever with listing items on ebay for profit. It's how many people make a living, how a lot of SAHMs supplement the family income--an ebay home business--and many other people sell a few items here and there to earn money for Christmas gifts, etc. Nobody is forcing anyone to spend their money on these toys on ebay. If you are willing to pay it, great. Go ahead. If you're not, then don't bid. If nobody bids, a message is sent to the seller that the price is too high. Etc. That's how doing business works, whether it's selling a burrito at Taco Bell, a multi-million-dollar home in Malibu, or a Cabbage Patch Kid on ebay. What you refer to as "greed" is what motivates people to work. People don't go to work for the good feeling it gives them or to do their boss a favor--they go to work to get a paycheck. Otherwise they'd go volunteer their time somewhere else or stay home. Greed is a GOOD thing, at least in this respect. JMHO.
  18. Is it this one? http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/Products.aspx?DeptID=446&CatID=33054&CatTyp=DEP&ItemTyp=G&GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=0d0b892&ProdSeq=1&ProdCount=7&Dep=TOYS&RefPage=SearchDepartment&ShowMenu=T&ShopBy=0&SearchString=mp3+player&S4DeptID=446 I'd look for a different one unless you're positive he's going to lose it/break it. That one looks very, VERY bottom-of-the-line. A flash-based one that just plugs in via USB, no software needed, would be easier to work with and there are a lot of models out there that would hold more songs. Also this should probably be moved to the deal finder forum and then people can find you good alternate models. :)
  19. I've never been a big rebate person (normally I need the price to just be that low to begin with or I can't afford to buy it)...most years I just have maybe 1 or 2 rebates. This year, none.
  20. Nope, still have various family members to buy for.
  21. I tend to use things when I buy them--it seems kinda silly to buy myself a new jacket and then not wear it for a month and just be cold--you know? And unwrapping a gift that I bought and wrapped for myself still isn't any kind of surprise, so it doesn't help me feel like I have more gifts under the tree to wait.
  22. My local TRU stopped PMing about 6 months or so ago. None of them PM anymore; some haven't in a very long time and some stopped this past year.
  23. I got the lightsabers from walmart, but online where I had to pay for shipping, so I only got one for each of the boys (I had originally considered getting 2 backups as well, as they break/lose things sometimes). I also got myself a jacket that is going to be my parents' Christmas present to me online at Target. I ordered both of those yesterday so I haven't actually gotten a thing today yet and I might not. No sitter and almost no money, LOL. The big-ticket stuff I was considering I realized I really didn't need this year (like the car dual screen dvd player--I want it for our trip home but we won't be making that trip till about Jan 2007 so I might as well wait till BF next year) and all the toys I got for my kids, I bought already with TRU deals in past weeks, so...there was really nothing left to buy. LOL.
