  1. I go shopping after Christmas and get wrapping paper and the like for next year--not the day after, though, because the clearances aren't good enough yet. Usually about a week after. If I get gift cards or money, I'm usually out there the day after though.
  2. Nothing. Back when I was single, Christmas shopping would be "something for Mom, something for me; something for Dad, something for me;" etc. But now that I have a husband, in-laws, parents, sisters, sister-in-law and her family, 3 kids....yikes, definitely no buying for myself.
  3. Update...I am now totally 100% done! And everything is wrapped and ready to go, too. I am going to have so much closet space after Christmas I'm not going to know what to do, LOL. My closet has no room for clothes right now, it's packed so full of presents. It's going to be nice when I can put the gifts under the tree as we get them...but the kids have to be older for that to work. And motoXmom, wow, great deal! Our KB is not going out of business, so no great sales. Walmart was totally out of batman figures, weird...didn't really think they were all that popular. Wound up getting it at Target, full price...blech. He better be happy. LOL.
  4. Do you really think they even come back to see the "torture?" Let alone care? I'm all for you having your fun, LOL, but I don't think it makes a bit of difference to anyone posting spam.
  5. $120 2-drawer project center on sale at Sears for $60; $10 gift card for being one of the first 200 customers, plus $10 off coupon when using Sears card...total price $40.
  6. I thought I was done, but now my 3-year-old is insisting that the ONLY thing he wants Santa to bring is Batman. He's been saying this for a few days now. I know he will enjoy all his gifts, but he can't NOT get the only thing he wants from Santa, can he? He asked Santa at the mall for it and everything. So I may have to go out and get a small Batman action figure. Other than that, I'm done. The last box (of gifts for family back home) was mailed out on Saturday.
  7. We are going to have tons, OMG. Two big boxes of gifts came from my MIL yesterday. Then there are the gifts we bought for the kids and each other, the gifts my parents sent, the gifts from FIL...I have run out of places to store them! My closet won't hold my clothes anymore, LOL, and every last bit of spare space has been used up, and I still have to find somewhere for those that came yesterday. For people who can't afford much, we're going to have an awesome Christmas, that's for sure. I'm probably going to fall over when I do get the gifts under the tree and see them all piled in one place!
  8. I am LMAO at their "list prices." Sure, it's easy for things to be 90% off if you charge 10x what they're worth as your "list price." Please, buy all my 10-cent junk...regular price $100, on sale for just $1, what a deal...yeah right. Their power rangers look really strange. Are they old, or fakes? The logo on the packaging looks ok but it's not the same packaging as in stores now and the figures themselves don't look anything like they should. Not going to buy anything...just wondering who in the world would buy it when it looks so "off."
  9. Weekly ad for Target is $46 and that's the cheapest I've seen it anywhere. If they're in stock! My local TRU is sold out and has been for awhile.
  10. What bothered me most about my rebate form was that it said in tiny print to fill it out using all capital letters. Of course I didn't realize that till I was done. And you never know if that would cause them to just throw it away, since technically that was not correctly filling it out. So I had to cross out all my info and then write it again in all caps...in the tiny amount of space left on each line. Stupid picky rebate people. LOL.
  11. I haven't mailed mine, but that's because it won't be me mailing it. I sent all the rebate stuff to my mom, so that once my sister opens her gift, she can cut off the UPC and drop it all in the mail for me. It has to be postmarked by Dec 28th so hopefully she'll get to it as soon as it's opened!
  12. That's cute. I had my son in pre-K do the same thing yesterday. I was told to send a list though, so he only bought for me, dh, and the other 2 kids--no gift for himself. I didn't give him anywhere near that much money though--just $2/gift for dh and I and $1/gift for his brother and sister. It'll be interesting to see what he bought. He's so proud of himself though, so I'm excited.
  13. Ack! Thanks for the reminder...my son's school does this too and I haven't sent any money in with him yet. I'll go dig out some cash now...shouldn't be too bad. Their gifts range from $1 to $5, with most being no more than $2, the flyer said. So he can spend $2 apiece on us. Off to find my wallet...
  14. It's definitely just fine for a sig...it just really throws me off to see my name in someone else's post LOL.
  15. gitmocecko...your signature is really starting to freak me out, LOL. I keep thinking I've posted things I don't remember writing. Then I think no, I didn't write that...so...is she telling ME to have a great day? And then I realize it's your signature, not a post...and then it clicks that it's YOU, not me. And I do that every time, LOL.
  16. Hmm, in my kids' age range (1-5 yrs) I would say remote control cars (not sure how much the brand or style matters), My Little Pony toys (those were popular when I was a kid...weird...) and Little People (all kinds of different sets). No one specific toy jumps out at me in any category, but those types listed above are things that many of my friends are getting for their kids.
  17. I get all my Christmas supplies after Christmas (for the next year)...the hard part is remembering what I've bought though. I'm going to have to make a list of what I have stocked up on and tape it to the outside of the box, otherwise next year will be a repeat of this year: buying Christmas cards and then coming home to discover two brand new boxes underneath the ornaments for the tree. Almost all stores have sales the day after Christmas, marketed as the "Buy what you really wanted but didn't get" sales...but their deals aren't as good as the pre-Thanksgiving ones. Still, a sale's a sale.
  18. All the presents are wrapped and hidden away. With kids ages 1/3/5, I don't DARE put gifts under the tree until Christmas eve, after they're in bed. Having the tree up is bad enough. The older two decorated it, and now the 1 y/o keeps un-decorating it. But it just doesn't seem like December without the tree up...so I just have to keep a very, very close eye on her.
  19. Oh, I'd never buy from anyone with iffy feedback. That's just asking for it. What gets me about the Leapsters (and other stuff) on there is that apparently no other ebayers know that they can actually buy Leapsters at just about any store...the auctions are going for right around the same price you get in stores--and then on top of that there's shipping. I saw the $99 Sam's Club bundles selling for well over $100. Okay, so maybe those people aren't Sam's members. And the red and pink Leapsters--yeah, those might be hard to find. But the regular games and the regular Leapsters--why on earth are those selling for more on ebay than you can pay at TRU/Target/Walmart? It makes no sense. The auctions are starting at 9.99, which is sucking people in...and then they wind up bidding way past the buy it now price. So I feel kinda smart right now for just going ahead with the BIN. And I will still get the rebate...I'll have to buy the thing in a store, request a gift receipt, then return it using the gift receipt (that way I get a cash register reciept for it, the seller says he doesn't have it)...but I have the rebate form already and with the receipt and UPC I can do the rebate. So my end price is going to be under $50. Yay! Oh, and another ebay rant, LOL--someone on there is selling the rebate forms for $1. I printed mine for free off amazon. Why are people buying those?
  20. Nevermind. Ebay is the answer. I can get the system (with demo cartridge) for $57 shipped, which is less than the rebate price, and no tax.
  21. I see it regularly sells for $70 and has a $10 rebate...how long is the rebate deal going to last? Also--does it come with any games, or is that $70 for the Leapster itself only, and you have to pay for games to be able to actually use it? Is the $99 deal at Sam's Club (Leapster, case, 2 games) the best deal out there on it? I am seriously considering this for my soon-to-be-5-year-old's birthday just after Christmas, but it is just SO expensive. It would be the only gift he got from us and we'd probably have to use some relative gift money towards it as well.
  22. Aha. So then you'd prefer the lavendar fuzzy hoodie sweater with little pom-poms? I'll be sure to send it right along.
  23. LOL. Do you want the junior's sweater or the men's dress socks? (Yes, socks. I bought socks as a gift. My dad actually requested them...thank goodness I also got him something nicer too!)
  24. Yep, I was just at Sears tonight. Lots of stuff was 30% off, from what I could tell. Got a $34 item for $22.99, got a $13.50 item for $9.something. Had all 3 kids with me so I didn't get to scope out much else. And I am now DONE shopping for my side of the family. Now to just finish off dh's side, and get the last toy for our kids...and I will be all done!
  25. My Target has a 30 day window for price adjustments. But what is the return policy? Could you return it, and re-buy it on sale? I am not sure if their return policy is also 30 days, or if it's longer; all I know is your receipt is required because they are strict now.
