  1. Hmm. We've used a cloth but not canned air. Does Walmart have that, or would I have to go to an office supply store?
  2. I have HAD IT with our current stereo sytem. It's an Audiovox 5-cd changer model with decent speakers...not huge or expensive but it fits our needs nicely. When it actually plays the CDs, anyway. Ever since we first started using it, it's had trouble recognizing that there are actually CDs in it. The thing will be loaded and it will just annoyingly blink "no disc." It was a gift, so there was no receipt, and dh was an idiot and didn't open and hook up the thing till something like 6 months after Christmas the year we got it ("but I can't decide if we should have it upstairs or downstairs!"), so there's no sense in trying to return it. So rather than toting my little kitchen mini boombox thingie upstairs every time I want to play a CD, or listening to music through the TV (that has a built-in DVD player) as the sound quality kinda sucks, I want to just throw the stupid thing away and buy a new one. It doesn't have to be a 5-cd changer; a 3 would do. It doesn't have to play tapes or anything else, just CDs, and it needs to actually WORK. The cheaper the better. Anything over $100 is out of the question, so all the "good" models are out of my budget. $50 would be nice but I have a feeling I'd wind up with another piece of junk for that price. I am not excited about spending money on this but I am very eager to have the satisfaction of throwing this stupid thing we own now in the trash. LOL.
  3. Oh, no--definitely no leaving to go sit somewhere warm or sleep or whatever. I would be ok with two people sitting outside that whole time together, and one will make food runs or a bathroom break while the other stays, but there'd be no flat-out trading off. And on Black Friday, dammit, if I'm freezing, *everyone* better be freezing.
  4. With a very strong bladder, a good supply of Depends, and/or a friend or relative to split the gift certificate with.
  5. I don't understand why Ikea is so popular. But then that modern/minimalistic style just isn't my taste.
  6. Does that mean they're worth something? Even if they've been viewed a lot of times (so not in mint condition anymore)?
  7. I don't have any on dvd either. We have IV-VI as a boxed set...of VHS...inherited from some friend of a friend. At some point I'd like those on dvd too, but for now I'll work on buying ones I don't already own.
  8. LOL, yep...it only takes once.
  9. Ooooh. But will it be cheaper to get a boxed set of I-III? I do need them all. I have I on VHS but I want the dvd, and I don't have II yet.
  10. I had actually wondered how people did that.
  11. I just don't want to look like more of a dork and post more "new" old features, if I notice anything else. And don't be paranoid.
  12. I do think I'm going to refrain from posting any more "recent discoveries," though, should I have any.
  13. Alright then. Good to know. LOL.
  14. So I was posting a reply to something, happened to scroll down, and noticed this feature--I can read everything in the thread while replying! Very nice. Is this new, or am I a total dork that just didn't notice it before?
  15. your post talking about your junk being licked??? I know, I'm sooooooooo funny.
  16. Hmm. I know I registered for some reason...oh, I think it was to see the scanned ads? Was it mandatory to register for the forum to see the pics? Well, I got sucked in *somehow*...I may just have to go look it up. But I see your point. 3000 would not have registered just to see pictures. Gotta get those lurkers talking.
  17. I think a lot of BF dealhunters are just looking for good prices and not necessarily to join any sort of forum. So I think there are a lot of people who will register just to see the deals and then disappear, because all they want to do is shop, not talk. I think the biggest way to get new posters is going to be getting the ones who post just to ask a question or two to stick around. I think that's how I got started. I had other boards I was posting on but I never expected to be a member of a deals type site as I don't often buy electronics, and somehow that is what I thought this site was for during the rest of the year. LOL...then I started posting here in the Lounge and, well, it was all over...
  18. Thank you SOOO much for this info! I think that with just one purchase I am now done shopping for my middle child's upcoming 4th birthday. He's been into Buzz since before he was two. Had a Buzz 3rd bday party and will likely have the same theme for his 4th bday (October). Yes, it's early to be buying his bday present, but it's a great deal and not likely to be around when his bday comes. So this is perfect!
  19. Looks like the timing on this deal was perfect! I got the card today and printed out the rebate form. The price on the item has jumped to $54.99 and the last day for the rebate was yesterday. So just in time! :)
  20. I wouldn't mind being a tester. I don't really go to other deal sites, but I can definitely run my mouth about what I like/don't like.
  21. Cool! I actually did order from amazon, but it's still an open order and I just cancelled it. Placing the order with zipzoomfly now...can't beat free 2-day shipping! I won't have to worry about it not arriving in time. Thanks for letting me know! :)
  22. I don't know how I missed i-bystander's post...must have posted it as I was typing out mine. I think I'd rather order from amazon, since I have a history with them and know I'll get what I order...never heard of mwave before. But, then again, I'd rather pay less up front than pay the almost $40 and then wait forever for a rebate. Hmm, what to do... Edit: Nevermind. Mwave is going to charge $8 or so shipping bringing the total to $37.90. Might as well pay that much at amazon and get the rebate later. Now I just have to hope it gets here by the time we leave--their free shipping takes forever.
  23. The camera is the Canon Powershot S1 IS 3.2 MP. I have more options than I really know what to do with as far as picture resolution. I'm still trying to learn how to work the camera LOL--there are a lot of features. I do know that I don't use the biggest resolution or the smallest...it's one of the middle settings. 512 sounds like a good size card. The next size up is 1GB, isn't it? That sounds so big, and probably very expensive. I don't want to spend more than $50 but was hoping for as little as possible. jamesave's deal looks really good to me...so unless someone posts something better soon LOL I will probably be ordering that.
  24. Now that our vacation is near, I really need to get a high-capacity CompactFlash memory card for my Canon. It has no internal memory and came with a ridiculously small one. That isn't going to cut it on vacation. I need something that will hold a whole bunch of pictures (we're going to Disneyland, Sea World, Magic Mountain, and will see a ton of family over the course of 12 or so days) but I don't want to spend much money either. So I'm not even sure what size card I want...just something big, but not so big that it costs $100 or anything. Any half-price deals out there? Really good after-rebate prices?
  25. I really wish my Pizza Hut would actually receive my online orders...free pizza would be awesome!
