  1. My list...a cd player for the van, the Pixter Color (although if circuit city gets any back in stock, I'll buy that before BF as they are only $40 there and $80 everywhere else right now)...and pretty much everything else I want to get will be decided by the ads. As for the 2004 forum, I say lock the posts and keep it as a subforum of the BF 2005 forum...then after BF 2005 is over, delete the 2004 one and keep the 2005 one as a subforum of something (however you have the 2004 one set up now), or keep both 2004 and 2005 locked as subforums like you do with the 2004 now...ugh am I even making sense? I think I've lost myself now.
  2. I agree. Actually I think it'd be ideal to have several of a certain item, so the first several people can get one, like you do with the t-shirts and stickers. Then have contest entries for the "big" (i.e. expensive) things. But it's your money being spent LOL so I understand if you don't want to be buying multiples of various items. But I like the idea of having a few things that are simply available for the taking, so that not everything involves us using up our points just for a chance at something we didn't wind up winning. Although if the prize is something I really want, I'd probably risk it.
  3. I think they're just going to keep adding blades until someone reinvents the razor...right now tacking on an extra blade or making the thing shake seems to be as creative as the design people want to get.
  4. Yeah, that would be that Quatro one everyone got as freebies awhile back. Did you see the skit on SNL about razors getting more and more blades, with the commerical graphics showing skin being removed, etc.? I don't remember the details of it but it was funny.
  5. Yep! I don't think it's possible to start saving for something too early...it can never hurt to have money in savings. But yeah, I'd say giving yourself two months or so to save up is a good plan.
  6. Oh! So it works that way too now? I can type something up, then highlight, say, the first three words, and turn those into a link? I think I will like this way after all then.
  7. Ohhhhh...I see. Ok. I hadn't even gotten that far LOL. I saw that the box wasn't asking for the text first and thought I was doing something wrong & gave up. At least I know it wasn't me this time. Thanks.
  8. What happened? The little globe icon to make a hyperlink or whatever isn't working the same way it used to. It only wants a URL now and then inserts that, with no text.
  9. So it expires today? I wish I'd known about it when I bought something the other day...oh well. How do you get emails with coupons like this?
  10. I have the same thing as Aaron (the sort-of double footer) on my User CP page too. Just on that page though.
  11. It all works fine for me. LOL. As you can see. Not sure what the problem might be but it doesn't seem like a FF thing.
  12. Yep. :) Thanks!
  13. I can't make a member page...I clicked on the "create your userpage" link and it said I don't have permission, and when I went back to my User CP page the link was gone. What did I do LOL?
  14. Cool! I can't wait to try the new stuff out.
  15. That's insane! Ours has everything. They just recently got maternity, though. When I was pregnant with DD, I had to drive down to Nashville to buy anything. I didn't understand it...you'd think a store near a military base would have a good maternity section. So I'd drive down there, try everything on, determine my size, buy a couple of things, then come home and order online here and there. Now that I'm not having babies, the store here puts in a maternity section. Argh.
  16. I won't know till I see how much money I have saved up by then and what deals are out there. My Christmas budget tends to be about $75 per child, and I try to get as many of their gifts as possible on BF so they can get more things. And then whatever else I buy for other relatives--if I can find good deals on things on BF for them, I'll do it. If I have the money or some available credit that I don't mind using, and there's an awesome deal on some electronic thing that I want, I'd consider getting it...but I don't know. Right now I'm just focusing on getting the kids' presents.
  17. 1) How excited are you about this years Black Friday? Not nearly as excited as last year. I just don't know how I'm going to manage it this year...I really want to get to the stores in person, but I also think it's a horrible idea to have the kids out that morning, esp. that early. 2) What's on your shopping list? What items? No specific items yet. Toys, definitely. Will have to check out all the ads. 3) Parents, do you dread shopping for the hottest toys and/or video games? No, my kids don't tend to get (or want, thankfully) the "hottest" toys. They get toys that I think they'll like that are on sale LOL. 4) Do you bring anything to sit on while camping out at 2AM waiting for a store to open?I'm thinking about getting a collapseable lawn chair. I never have. The ground works and I don't have to carry it with me while shopping. 5) What stores ads are you anxious to see? Toys R Us mainly. But all the other ones too. 6) We're currently at 5,898 members ... do you think we'll break 10,000 members by Christmas? I think it's quite possible! 7) I can't wait until we upgrade to vBulletin forum software v3.5 with new features and goodies. Plus we're going to have several giveaways and prizes this holiday season. Looking forward to that too.
  18. Only if (a) your child grows at a predictable rate, and ( the store has a decent selection of clothes. For some reason my 3-year-old is the only one who I can count on to be in a certain size at regular yearly intervals...the 5-year-old started out growing like a weed but is wearing the same size t-shirts now as he did last summer, and the 22-month-old is just a mess to buy anything for. Tall, thin, short legs...so she takes anywhere from size 12 months to 2T right now depending on whether you're buying pants, a dress, or something else. LOL. So I have NO clue what she'll be in next year. I'm jealous of the parents who get to stock up at clearance sales and have their kids actually wear the stuff the next year.
  19. They're having a sale on some of their fall stuff too. :) Not nearly as good a deal as the clearance stuff, but 25% off all baby clothes got me in the door today. I got the green bomber jacket for my 3-year-old and a cute little shirt for the 1-year-old. And I'm not telling the 5-year-old I went there as what I'd wanted for him wasn't in the store.
  20. Um, I don't think waiting outside a store at 4 am in 15 degree weather with kids ages 5, 3 and 1 is such a great idea. I don't think having them inside the store with everyone pushing and shoving is such a great idea either.
  21. With the deployment, there'll be nobody here to stay with the kids while I go from store to store...so I don't get to go out on BF. So I'm much less excited this year than I was last year. Online BF is not the same as waiting out in the cold LOL. You'd think being home would be better but I miss the experience.
  22. I was so irritated about that 4 or so years ago. Now that I've been "of age" for awhile, I've had no need to rent a car. Although 25 also meant a drop in car insurance cost, and that has definitely been nice.
  23. Yikes--those reviews are pretty bad. Ok, I won't buy from that store! I'll try that air stuff and keep looking around if it doesn't work.
  24. Thoughts on this one? Item, price, store? Still need to try that canned air first. Where do I spray it? Inside it somehow or on the tray? (There is a tray that pops out that holds the CDs and I can't really see what is inside the stereo.)
  25. If it is, I would love a feature like that too. There are some I use far more often than others and it'd be great to not have to search through all of them on those occasions.
