  1. In-N-Out...waaaaaaaaaahhhhh...why'd you have to go and bring that up? I'd kill for one of their cheeseburgers right now. Sometimes I miss home soooo much. This time of year especially.
  2. So if everyone is stampeding to Best Buy...does that mean Radio Shack won't sell out too fast? I want to get my 15 y/o sister that cheap mp3 player. Actually I'd like the BB one better, but it's $30 after rebate, normally $100, and I don't have a spare $100 to shell out initially for it, so I'll have to get the one that's $30 up front. Anyway...almost all the other stuff I'm getting is at Sears but she wants an mp3 player so badly, I want to be a cool big sis and get it for her. Argh, decisions, decisions...who will run out faster...Sears or Radio Shack...LOL, it's amazing how much planning I'm putting into this.
  3. Are you talking about price matching or price adjusting? If you bought it at another store and want Walmart to match the price later, that's not going to work. They'll match a different store's advertised price at the time of purchase. If you bought it at Walmart, and then a couple weeks later they have it on sale, you can show up at that sale with your receipt and ask for a price adjustment. (At least I'm assuming Walmart will do that on BF--but that is the way price adjustment works.)
  4. Sweet potatoes, stuffing, and pumpkin pie...actually I usually have seconds of everything. Maybe even thirds--at midnight or so Thanksgiving food is just so yummy, and if I don't eat my share all at once, LOL, I may not get it all. My dh is a very hungry person.
  5. Wow! I wish we had one of those stores nearby!
  6. Most of my list can be divided between two stores, and the two items that top my list are also divided. In my case, it's Sears and Radio Shack, but I'm sure that many of us have some much-wanted items at multiple stores, some of which open at the exact same time. In my mall, both Sears and Radio Shack open at 6 am and I'm wondering if one of them is more known for selling out quickly. I'd like to get the $10 gift card at Sears, for being one of the first 200 customers, but not if it's going to cost me my Radio Shack items (when the Sears items will still be there)...kwim? So, if any store tends to sell out of their deals really quickly, how about posting that info so we are all warned ahead of time? In my experience, Kmart has very few of their advertised items and sells out FAST.
  7. If Walmart is going to price match BF deals (and that's a big if, I think), it has to be during the sale hours. If Target's deal is only in the morning, Walmart would only price match in the morning--if you go late in the day and Target's deal is expired, there will be no deal for Walmart to match anymore. If Target's deal is all weekend, then it's ok to go later. That's my understanding anyway.
  8. I know I went to a Super Walmart the night before Thanksgiving one year...or, more like early on Thanksgiving. Something like 1 am, I was making pies and didn't have the right kind of canned milk and had to run out--they were open. So I guess they are open on Thanksgiving.
  9. Our next door neighbors are coming for Thanksgiving. First year here that we've had company, so that's nice. Nothing like making a full turkey dinner, two weeks after giving birth, for yourself and your two preschoolers. (Dh was deployed last year.) So this year not only are we all together but we have company too. Yay! I sure miss holidays with family but this will be close enough.
  10. That'd work if I had a cell phone. I'll be sure to post about how it all went when I'm back, though, and at least be entertained afterwards.
  11. 1) Location: Ft. Campbell, KY...home of the 101st (but from southern CA...born, raised, and MISS IT) 2) Married with 3 kids, ages 4 (almost 5), 3 and 1...makes my state of mind kind of 3) I like gottadeal.com because it looks so much more professional than any other BF site I've seen. I don't really have a need for the non-BF part of the site (no money for the nice electronics, LOL) but the BF part is awesome. Very organized and just so clean-looking. Great graphic design. Useful features too. 4) Well, YEAH! 5) Oh no...another board? I spend enough time on the computer already...ack...I'm going to get sucked in even more now... 6) Hmm, possibly. I shop at the commissary on post so really only commissary-specific info would help me; so that would all depend on if there were other military people with tips/info.
  12. Well, that would be easy, wouldn't it? LOL. No, I'm going by myself. I haven't been able to convince anyone to wake up that early even with all the deals.
  13. Oh--wait--that means you have to shop while carrying your collapsed chair, right? Maybe that won't be such a good idea for me. Might slow me down. Hmm, or maybe it could be a weapon....bwahahaha....kidding of course!
  14. Ooh, two very good ideas there for me, thanks! I have one of those cheap collapsable chairs (under $10 at Walmart) and my dh has a gameboy. I'm by no means good at video games in general, let alone on a tiny little gameboy...but shoot, with that much time to kill, I'm sure I can improve LOL.
  15. So...we've established that many of us arrive at our stores around 3 am or even earlier--definitely hours ahead of opening time. What do you do during those hours to pass the time? Those who go with friends/family have an advantage: company! Those who go alone...do you just sit there, bored? (LOL...that's been me in past years...don't want to be bored in the cold again this year.)
  16. If I was only getting one thing, I'd get a nice 7"+ portable dvd player for our van...we have a 2000 mile trip coming up next year and it would make it a lot easier to have that. But...since I am getting a lot of things, I don't think I'm actually going to get to buy the dvd player. Have to get gifts for family first...stuff for ourselves after that, if there's money left over.
  17. Everything at the mall is 6 am in my area; Toys R Us is also 6 am. KB Toys is 5 am, and Target is usually 7 am here too. My Walmart is open 24 hours too, but the sale doesn't start till 6 am. I'd much rather wait inside a nice warm store than line up outside, but usually what I want is not at Walmart.
  18. It really depends on your area. Where I am, 3-4 am does it. In more populated areas, you might have to line up at midnight! It depends on what time the store opens and how many other people want to be there, really.
  19. Kmart has both a Thanksgiving Day sale and a BF sale. Usually they will have different things on sale BF than they do on Thanksgiving Day...strange that your store was empty last year; mine is always mobbed. I've noticed though that if I'm not one of the first people in, I won't get what I want though. The year of the $5 talking Bob the Builder dolls, they only had a couple of them but a ton of Wendy dolls. I was among the first few people that got to the dolls but someone snatched the last Bob right out of my hand as I was taking it off the shelf...my sons weren't interested in Wendy so I missed out on that deal. Anyway, my experience has always been that Kmart is mobbed on BF but the good stuff is gone FAST.
  20. Yes, JC Penney's offers snowglobes to their first however many customers on BF and they have a sale too.
  21. The doors at my shopping mall open at 6 am on BF, so I'm assuming that various stores in the mall (department stores and smaller stores) will all be opening at that time for BF. Wouldn't make sense for mall doors to open if the stores weren't doing sales then. I guess check with your mall.
  22. Hmm, I think I'm getting my TRU threads confused! When I posted that I was thinking of a post I saw somewhere--in a different thread I guess--from someone saying they emailed corporate about having percentages off instead of actual prices in the BF ad, which I guess was not you! The responses about emailing corporate not doing much just made that post pop into my head. Anyway, I still say emailing corporate about anything probably won't make a difference, but then again, that doesn't stop me from firing off emails to places that get me worked up enough--rarely, but it happens.
  23. If TRU left the toy business...what business would they have left to be in? Or were they thinking of just going out of business altogether? I find it hard to believe they're doing that bad--yes, other stores may have lower prices, but they don't have half the inventory as TRU. Lots of toys I get for my kids are only at TRU or online. And I agree with those who say emailing corporate isn't going to do a thing...except maybe make them crack down more on leaking of BF info.
  24. Oooh, you're working on a "save" feature? I was going through the list the other day and was disappointed to see that it didn't remember my items...so I'm happy to hear you're at least looking into making it possible. Thanks. :)
  25. I'm pretty sure Target has BF sales too. Two years ago I got some good stuff there on BF; I believe their sale was from 7-11 am or something like that. They may have changed though; I didn't get to BF last year because I had a 2-week-old baby. She just turned 1 though and Daddy will be watching her and her brothers this year!
