I think your fellow BF shoppers would agree. If the price is right, a few extra hours in line is worth the sacrifice. Just imagine if there is a desktop PC with monitor for $99 or laptop for $199.

Reading the BF Ad Matching got me thinking A few days before Black Friday, do you visit the store and hide the merchandise like in a washer/dryer? Then when Black Friday arrives you casually stroll by and pick up your hidden merchandise? Of course hiding a hard drive in an oven is easier than hiding a 42" Plasma HDTV set Do you have any other secrets you're willing to share with us?

Yep we Hot Dealers commonly refer to FREE AFTER REBATE as FAR :) That's impressive mileage, is it diesel?

Rising gas prices don't really affect us since: We drive a fuel efficient Honda Accord 4 cylinder.We earn 5% cash back with our CitiBank credit card (which has no annual fee).We only drive 6,000 miles per year, roughly 1/3 the annual average.I refuse to buy into the hype that gas is going to skyrocket and everyone will be buying scooters.

Staples because the lines don't wrap around the block and their rebates are easy to submit.

CostCo actually hands theirs out in late October, weeks before Black Friday arrives. Otherwise we buy a newspaper Thursday (Thanksgiving) morning.

Do you think part of it had to do with our economy in a slump?

Aside from the great deals, I think it's the holiday atmosphere and tradition.

Some stores like Best Buy re-arrange merchandise, so scouting out the store would do no good.

I think the most useful tool will be our Black Friday shopping list which I would recommend saving to your PDA and/or printing it.

Waiting in line for 4 hours freezing my ass off, half asleep probably playing our Nintendo GBA SP or using the laptop assuming it's not raining.

As soon as someone submits an ad I'm guessing we'll see the first BF ads towards late October.

It's about damn time, less than 2 months to go

My past Black Friday experiences have been pretty ho-hum and uneventful. IIRC Best Buy opens at 6AM, if you don't get in line before 2:30 AM you won't get any of the limited quantities items. Other places like Staples I was able to stroll in around 7AM, buy the FAR (free after rebate) software and other items. Traffic was terrible though. I suppose it's all part of the tradition :) We look forward to hearing your war stories. Remember the more you post, the more GottaPoints you'll earn :)
