Interesting thread. So long as i have wifi I'm good. I prefer the Peace and relative coolness of my home plus using ebates, shop at home and ready access coupon codes to save more. It's a bonus to shop in my pjs, a day in advance, w/o worrying how I'm going to carry stuff or maneuvering around other ppl and their carts interspersed through stores. Some things are worth going out for but i find I'm less tolerable of people as the years go by. So long as they do jcpenney snowglobes I'll be out, but even walmart pjs aren't needed because i get better quality for same or cheaper through the year.

I look at ads as they're released and print the ones with anything I'm interested in. Once all the ads are out, i do my spreadsheet for Wed Thurs and Fri with stores in the order of importance and/or opening time. If what I'm wanting is available for similar amounts at different stores I'll add to multiple lists and cross off once bought. DVD and bluray are usually taken care of by Amazon before other sales go live. Anything from best buy, kohls, target and macys i usually get online because they make it so easy and offer free shipping over a decent amount. Always hit jcpenney for snowglobes early on since we collect for various family members. Once i pick up and review hard copy of ads I'll add a few items here or there and print out a couple of copies. One for back pocket and one for glove box. Keep ads for each store in a file and take when i get out of car.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2014
tinkrbel replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Haven't seen these mentioned. All of my stores had men's ps on sale. They're glow in the dark skeleton onesie pjs with no feet mixed in with superhero ones. More finds:There's orange or purple striped long sleeved minion shirts in little girls, black and orange tiered tutu in baby girl, lots of folded shirts in big boys (star wars, minions, snoopy, Olaf, lego man) and big girls may have black long sleeved hello kitty shirts mixed in with regular sale stuff, also had bright pink short sleeved shirt, white short sleeve with skull, tutu dresses with black and silver ringed sleeves and long sleeve orange mickey shirts. Juniors might have long sleeve jack skellington shirt, black short sleeve tinkerbell shirt, black sleeveless shirt with lace skull, black 3/4 sleeve snoopy shirt. All juniors tops except sleeveless run very small. The kids xl fit and the juniors xl barely did? ! I hit the mother load of lights yesterday at 90 but may have been happier with a little bat wine stopper i found also Managed to get a set of 3 ceramic dishes AFTER scouring the shelves for tag. Also Found perfect and complete minnie and Sofia costumes in little girls hung by similar pjs, might be worth checking there or kids dress up in case costumes were returned to wrong area. I got lucky with this new store, Opened like 3 weeks ago and a little short staffed. Wonder if they'll still have no traffic for BF? -
1. best for what I want, probably best buy. most good deals Walmart 2. mostly online but some instore as well. 3. Thanksgiving at 4 pm

halloween 70% here this am -
This is probably my #1 shipping pet peeve EVER. There is really never a need to stop shopping carts side by said and block traffic.

Well...I can't get out of family dinner 2 years in a row, so it will need to be online mostly this year.
-
Beautiful....I'm yet another with no patience or craftiness unfortunately.

I wonder if it's just for the primary prime member or not? If so, i might be out of luck this year.

What was your BEST EVER Black Friday Deal / Purchase?
tinkrbel replied to magickallight's topic in 2014
Value wise we've gotten a lot of use out of the free after rebate rice cooker last year. Sheer amazement at deal... last year Saturday after bf best buy had game of thrones Bluray boxed sets for like 29.99. I was able to pick up a set for myself and another for my Aunt to gift cousins -
Have you ever or Would you ever Camp Out for Black Friday Deals?
tinkrbel replied to magickallight's topic in 2014
so true. We went in one year for a cheap mp3/video player and had to wait for the manager because it never came in. They sold me a better brand same size for the price but it wasted time. I have not camped out and would not be against it but would need a 24hr store or port a poddy like BimJim does or I'd never make it past the 1st 3 hours. -
Which Black Friday Store Ad(s) are You Most Looking Forward to Seeing?
tinkrbel replied to magickallight's topic in 2014
Target, Walmart, Best Buy are my go to favourites. Macys and Sears I like to scan through but they have too many pages so I leave them for last -
One of the office stores (max, depot or staples) has fitbit with a $25 store card this week.
-
I've tried to use it and come across several receipts it refuses to accept. It appears only "certain" stores are accepted but there's no way of knowing which other than trial and error. Of the 4 receipts I tried only 2 went in and I got $0 but I expected that since I was price matching most of the stuff anyways. A coworker has $20+ on hers. I think its a useful tool for busy ppl who do their bulk shop at walmart since they expect it to be cheaper overall.

Who is on Your List this Year? What are they Asking For?
tinkrbel replied to magickallight's topic in 2014
Too many people, usually takes a lined page front and back one person per line. Everyone gets what we think they'd like, a couple of the younger (16-19yo) cousins make lists and the younger kids (4-8yo) usually make it obvious what they'd like for months ahead. Neighbors and mail/trash folks usually get a bottle of wine. -
Hmm. Interesting but i don't think they have enough of the stores i hit to justify going all that way.

Do you do ALL of your Holiday Shopping on Black Friday?
tinkrbel replied to magickallight's topic in 2014
I'm sure i could get organized enough to do it all on BF but i shop all year long usually starting with the after Christmas target clearance. -
I completely agree yet I find myself out there anyhow. I did most of my shopping online last year but still wound up at Walmart Thanksgiving night for the sheet sets and some other stuff and Target/BestBuy On Friday for some Blurays. Walmart was relatively quiet compared to previous years but I think the opening time had a lot to do with that. My usual store doesn't do the 6am starts but was open for the earlier Thanksgiving day sales last year so we were pretty much by ourselves and with our hands on the sheet sets we wanted til maybe 20 min before sale when a couple other ppl came to join us. The Walmart website barely functions correctly on normal days, Thanksgiving and BF it is just completely useless. Amazon Prime would more than pay for itself assuming "I" was paying for it:P They do a great job at price matching most places and as of last year no taxes. This year they may have changed it seems to depend on what you buy so may or may not make much a difference this year other than knowing it WILL be delivered and order honored once placed.

Kohls had a few trees and a hallmark ornament display on Saturday. Bjs took the cake today though. Halloween on front end and Christmas on inner aisle. A huge Halloween arch over Christmas ornaments

I wouldn't necessarily have come out and said it ... but I have done the same when questionnaire didn't help much. I agree the more info and options provided the better gifts we can get
