  1. Bump-any more thoughts, please?
  2. Quit being a smartie. Oh and after looking at the flyer, their continuing to 'flame out (lame, skidding,etc...).
  3. $4K for the charity is at least an effort, albiet dumb one in some folks eyes. But there's store practices over the season that push this to the limit = free enterprise for the employee? I would've honored the price for the qty of sets in that particular store to the first customers AND the charity effort. ALL inside that particular store knew EXACTLY what was transpiring that morning before the doors opened. Oh and by the way, this IS common practice (WM), and although I'm bummed, I flat out make it a point to report this lowballing to all: duty mgr; store mgr; district mgr; regional mgr; and finally corporate. HD lost my business years ago, and I always perk my ears up at an HD story that friends experience, commonly bad ones. Hey? who got the HD Rigid Vac on BF? Betcha the majority of those got 'scarfed up inappropriately as well. It's ok to make mistakes, but here on east coast (I travel alot, etc..) the HD practice of bait & switch for even a contractor is a common practice. Hey, while we're at it, as a good (fool) hearty gesture, HD should offer every member of g_d_ that reduced price! (lol)
  4. Brad, T_Y_ Had perused cnet, tiger&newegg over past week. To be honest, am trying to back down $250 to under 200 bones. Betcha all didn't get much sleep this time last week! Thanx to you all I'm over $1k in the black over the past week 'cause of you-all. Am still in the 'hover mode, till I meet the tgt price of under '2 though.
  5. Searching for a 20" LCD TV. NOT monitor. Use for one child's PS2 and another for .....
  6. Ditto on the 'refresh through the day, approximate 1 hr a week.
  7. $2.99 for 1/4lb (one patty); $3.99 for 1/2lb (two patty). Choice of _____ ? or jalapeno (that's the two I ate) & regardless, cheese is included.
  8. We went last nite for the below deal, but be informed that the RED gift cards in front of the registers are for loading $$$, and cary no value initially (no kidding). The cashier tried giving me two of those by mistake. It took the manager calling corporate to figure out that no-you dont give a $00.00 red card for the deal, you give them the WHITE card which has a value of $1. Also Wendy's has the CD bargain (like 2 ISpy games for 9.99 incl s&h) see: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=58261&highlight=wendys
  9. Ok, there's different chairs. SRocker, VRocker, XRocker, @$70+... are going to be the high end. Or if you're just looking for a bean bag type, sure, in the $20 range. What we ended up 'finagling was JCP has the XRocker (scoped out store last night); and we'll wait for Sunday's Friends & Family Sale for %20 off. Target also has, but we're not fond of their charity practices...
  10. Yes, "_" Rocker Series. S, R, & X. Considerations include: qty of speakers & watts to power speakers. X Rocker is the highest. Two ways my family is going to go about it; either employee discount, or ........ Either way approx $80.
  11. Yes, it's a bummer, SOME items, if not honored by google checkout, will be kicked out.
  12. On it, but forgot Brad's link. IT PAYS TO BE THUROUGH! But great deal!!!
  13. Ditto, not worth my :10min searching. Prices were higher than allot on line/in store. Don't see any incentive for my time/$$.
  14. "Google Checkout", then link to froggle, type in the item, then note any stores that display the blue shopping cart icon that states they use G_Checkout. Even then, some stores do not have 10/30 or 20/50. But for the most part they do. Alot of stores have dropped the 20/50 though.
  15. Whewboy, and I checked em last nite as well. This seems pretty rediculous, free shipping! wow, at least you have google checkout!
  16. Yep, HD is fooling around again. Click on one of the items; link to having to choose a store; then lets all look at that map together! Alternate approach, use the store search for Rigid 12 Gallon; lets all look at appliances together! I finally figured out though that you can't open each item in a separate window, something about evil cookies will render the gremlins in your cpu worthless. Oh yeah, at 6 am: Temporarily Unavailable Online - Check Your Local Store "We're sorry, this item is temporarily unavailable online. Please check your nearest store for availability or come back soon to place your order." Thanks HD
  17. Thanx! just used, and by the way, any three combo off this list (3/6/9) worked & with the code-free ship. Again, thanx!
  18. I see Brad deleted a thread by an unhappy buyer but I wanted to post a positive reply/be the good guy..... Good experience at CC here in Richmond, VA. We had to show up at 7:30 the evening prior, and were #2 in line. Police were cruising through every hour and questioned the two college kids we had with us-nothing harrasing-just asked for them to stay along the sidewalk with us. By 2am the line was over 100. Accross the street a BB, the line was already 100+ by 7pm the nite before, and we kept musing over how their lot would continue to grow & grow and the hours wore on. Most people slept in the 35 degree weather 'till at least 3am. Associates showed by 3am, the store was bustling with over 30 of them by 4am, all avoided eye contact with us untill a wheelchair bound lady showed at around 3:30am. But with apoligies from us all, we explained that she should have come earlier (gut wrencher). Vouchers were issued over a :15min period starting at 4am (am guessing that at least 10 per item) By this time the line was over 450 people long, and most hard-core folks here in the front were getting concerned, talking about recent horror stories/bum rushing over chaos just the weeks prior. The 20-something crowd in line started mumbling about retaliation in the case of..... I had to verbally restrain some folks behind us from lowering themselves to verbal abuse with just a few polite reminders on civility. By 4:30am one of the folks who had waited in line was actually an undercover security man for CC! who made his presence known, was recognized by the associates who opened the door (slightly) and started identifying the increasing number of folks that were within a 30 yard range of the store doors (yep-there was a bum-rush planned. Two larger associates and an assistant mgr then posted themselves outside, and successfully (well at least till I got in-don't know what happened after) detered any/all with the strong statement that they would not be allowed in unless they were in line. As far as "disorganization" I expected it would turn into such within the first :45 minutes (long lines for the 08 checkout counters, etc...). My only problem was my large cart couldn't navigate around two displays, but I kept on the bright side and apologized to all, let some folks skip by me, and everyone stayed civil. I forgot to pickup my free camera, an associate ran over to me and reminded me (I must've made a good impression when I first walked in the door earlier & loudly thanked everyone for being there to serve us and immediately started asking for help). I made all my purchases at one line, lap/desk/dvdr/sd/ 19"monitor/and TV. (Keep in mind the lap & desk were seven boxes and smaller items alone). And I would have insisted to purchase in that one line if needed. (I did goof and say 'geek squad - but apologized, then told em to to take the th 25th of December off) Couple of 'broad assumptions: (common sense and a wrist-slap) /If you thought you were to get a refund on previous items this morning... 'here's your sign. /If your store's associates/mgrs did not handle things properly, every time... 'here's your sign. (We are human, in any case of gross negligence? I would've called or contacted regional managers by now). /Overcharging? I would have been monitoring every single ringup on the register, before signing. BUT, in the case above of having to go to another line to obtain a refund? I would've refused to move (maybe move if escorted). But if you didn't do your research prior, to include this very common calamity- here's your sign. (feel for ya though). /If you think that stores should have had more quantities of doorbuster items, then you should have made more effort to be in line earlier, all equals out. They are a business, or they'll be hanging a sign, "closed.out of business,....". /If you made a 'recon of the store the days prior, (how many registers, asked what is going to be the method of madness....or even just asked questions from associates or people around you PRIOR to 5am, great. If you didn't and expected elevator music and ascension above it all with total bliss & magic - here's your sign. -If you though checkout was going to be a speedy process, (meaning no,-you dont have to wait for those 25+rebate forms & rebate receipts to print out) - here's your sign. (Smile) Over $3k spent at CC, with rebates hanging out there for the next 90 days. And yessssss they'll get my business again. Bellingham, WA though that started a 'rant, whew, you got 'hosed, and that mgr, district mgr, and regional mgr better get a call from you AND they better make it right. Am looking forward to your post on CC's resolution!
  19. Hmmm, I already wrote a long thread, but yes CC, please cordon off an area outside the store next year, alot of 10 hour+ waiter's (including me) had to watch scavengers, bums, people with nothing to do 'cept not show up early, threaten our good time just prior to the store's 5am opening.
  20. I bought it, #2 in line with my friend, his college age daughter came up, and her boyfriend bought one as well = 04. Only nuisance was another lady in line questioned our integrity, and the second time she came up with a store associate who then had to reassure her that multiple laptops could be bought, on the same credit card, but to different residences. (This was on the up and up - everyone would be purchasing for different locales ie: school, work, or home). I felt apologetic to the lady, but she did pull an 'attitude.
  21. Thanx, It was great doing business with them! Already everything posted was %50 off, and then the additional code/free ship 'sealed the deal. Three items-$12.95-that takes care of the generic home gifts!
  22. Google Checkout Promotion has been in effect for over six months. In fact, do a 'search for google checkout and it'll show all companies honoring the $_ off discount. I've used multiple times to bring prices lower.
  23. OOOH KAY....... Williamsburg, VA; first time this location had a 12am opening and promo; got there (well within 5 miles) at 11:30. Extra security, traffic police, etc...; outlet parking was 100% full so people parked over a quarter mile away; most stores were understaffed so once I saw a line more than 10 people-just turned right around and left; Le Creuset, Kitchens Galore, and LLBean did get my busness though; out by 1:30am but the traffic was still 2+miles long and by that time they did close the prime parking lot. Only other bummer - BOSE, you missed my $$$ by not opening 'till 6am, being on top of things at midnite and wanting to hit other places afterwards, you lost out on over 2K of my busness.
  24. Ditto on "I bought the Viore PDP4210EA from Wal-Mart last BF and it has been fine for the money." Assume "VIORE" brand again this year. There are specific precautions for the first 100 hours (image burn, etc...) but don't forget about coughing up for a wall mount as well. Have had no problems with, and would buy another but this $$$ isn't well suited for last year technology.
  25. Last year here in va- 24hr store, 0300 got there; 0430 mgr firgures where people were to line up (in front of a pallet or at a makeshift desk for an index card); 0500 sale starts; 0520 hundreds of people waiting to check out; 0600 load items around back of store & depart.
