It will be offered on Black Friday only. And it's a mail-in, not a coupon.

Ours has just a 14-day return policy for store credit. After that, you OWN it!!!! Not a very Christmas-shopping friendly policy... If you were to buy from my Burlington, you'd have to buy close enough to Xmas to be able for the recipient to try on the gift and still have time to return/exchange it.

This is the way it's suppose to work (use the forum's search feature to find out how it has gone wrong at some stores): Customers arrive early and stand in line. Employees come out with "tickets" usually colored pieces of paper (different ones for each high-demand low-stock item). The employees walk through the line, asking each person which of the "ticketed items" they want to purchase. This continues until the tickets are all gone. No ticket for the ticketed item you want = no item for you. Get there early to get the best spot in line. From what I'm reading, BB's customer start arriving at Midnight. CC's is probably the same.

Last night I bought the M$ Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 for $69.99 (F&F at OfficeMax) less an additional $10 off (promo card), a z740 5MP camera w/ 10x Zoom on sale, and 12% off coupon, charger w/10% off coupon, and Notebook M$ Laser 600 mouse from BB w/10% off coupon and $5 MIR, and 2 L-Sleeve T-shirts from Old Navy. All killer deals...

Mashall's will be open BF from 8 am - 10 pm, but they won't have any "deals" -- just regular prices (we were there tonight, so I asked).

This past Spring, we bought one of those iron outdoor fireplaces @ Target, a rubbermade-style "micro shed" to store the wood in, two bundles of firewood, and a box of kindling.... And we didn't find time to use it once!

Last two years in a row I've gone to Staples first. We usally show up 5 minutes before they open. We get in and out in 1/2 hour, go grab a quick breakfast @ McD's and then head over to OfficeMax. OfficeMax is another story. We waited in line for 2.5 hours last year and the line was just straight back from the registers to the very back of the store. I have no idea what took them so long, unless the delay was caused by the fact that they only had three registers open and one of them was for cash-only. I'm actually considering driving out of my way to go to a different OfficeMax, just to try and avoid a similar experience.

Consumer Reports Magazine subscription
Marcster replied to rabutthe's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
As low as $17.25 for 13 issues (two years for $27.75), both offers include the annual buying guide: http://www.magazinepricesearch.com/detail/consumerreports.html -
Absolutely, and not have to wait in those lines!

You think there would be enough time for them to do that? They'd have to figure out Onion's address on Monday and get it out in the mail... Even if Onion got it on Wednesday, what would be the point of removing them by then?

Personally, I can be tough to shop for. I rarely like clothes that family members buy for me. I'd rather buy anything computer related myself, since I can write that off (self-empoyed). I have more music then I know what to do with (500+ CDs, I used to be a mobile DJ). And, I'd rather rent DVDs then own them... My wife said that her parents were asking what they should get me. I'm thinking I'd like a "boombox", the CD player on my current one is wearing out (only wants to play like 1 in 6 CDs), and it's nice to listen to music while working on "honey-do" projects or while washing the car...

Hey, if you're serious... TypeItIn is $19.95 for individual use, and upgrades are free. I use it! http://www.wavget.com/typeitin.html

alimfp -- You & I think alike... I actually thought of this a while ago, but not to drop at stores... I was thinking of all of the corkboard message boards around my neighborhood: the Post Office, the Hot Dog/Soft Serve Shop, the Grocery Store... and those are just the ones I could think of off the top o' my head.

I'm thinking that the Kodak Easyshare Z740 5MP Digital Camera at Office Depot for $299.99 (less a $75 rebate) will be the way I'll go. I'd rather have the 10x Optical zoom vs. 3x Optical zoom on the Samsung camera, even if it is a trade-off of 2 MP (I rarely print my photos beyond 8x10 anyway).

Gotcha! I should've looked myself. Here it is: http://www.samsclub.com/eclub/main_shopping.jsp?coe=0&oidPath=0%3a-23542%3a-23589%3a-43846%3a-43853%3a-45048%3a-45113%3a926314&mt=a&n=0 And here's a link to Samsung's description: http://www.samsungcamerausa.com/productdetails.asp?productid=109

Thanks Brad! Does anyone know what the model # is on that Samsung 7MP camera?

At this point (10:29 am EST), we would have gone through "my" store list, at this point it'll be Sam's Club, Office Depot, Staples, and OfficeMax. And we'll be on to my wife's stores @ the VF Outlet Village (http://www.vfovillage.com/stores.htm)

1GB Flash Drives are normally $59.99 after rebate. So, yes, $29.99 is the best price I ever saw and I've been casually looking. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileys/10.gif I predict it'll be one of the hottest things going at OD. They'll probably sell out before 9 or 10 am. Last BF, I bought the 256MB Flash Drive from Staples for $19.94 AR. They were sold out within 1/2 hour. People were buying them 4 & 5 at a time. I have no idea how they were planning on qualifying for the rebate, since it's one rebate per person per receipt... http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileys/thinking.gif This year, Staples will have the very same 1GB drive for $10 more AR.

Thanks! BTW, you shouldn't have a problem posting links like this: www. google .com

I'm going to be doing the same thing to with the DVD-Burner that Staples has for 19.99 AR, but I'll have to buy a 5.25" external enclosure to accomodate the DVD drive. Unicron -- I don't know how familiar you are with computers, but the external drive enclosure will come with installation instructions. It's pretty easy. I have two of the external enclusures I pictured above (AMS VENUS DS-2316B2BK Aluminum 3.5" USB 2.0 Black External Enclosure). They are $35.99 each w/$5.99 S&H from Newegg. There are some that are cheaper, but probably none as nice for the price. It has an average of 5 stars (top rating possible) from 502 people voting, and you can read 147 reviews from owners. Here is the link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817145656 If you have a Firewire connection on your computer, they also have a version with Firewire and USB. If you have any questions, let me know...
