  1. Well I know this is probably going to be frowned upon by some, but I happened upon this method accidentaly a couple of years ago. REALLY! But it really only works if you dont have a ton of stuff or anything huge. If you have a return to BB wait to take it until BF. Then when you go in, you can snag your stuff and have it with you when you go to customer service. They will ring it up there. When I first did this I was waiting in line to return something and DH walked around and picked up the few small things that we wanted. He was done by the time I got the the head of the line and the girl in customer service offered to ring them up. Sweet! In and out in less than 30 minutes! The next year I wanted to price match something and one of the workers on the floor told me I had to go to CS to have them writeup/ring the pricematch. Again, they offered to ring up the rest of my stuff!!!!!
  2. DH is an engineer for Amtrak and when he has to work on Christmas the kids (DD & DS) and I go with him. He dresses in the pinstriped "engineer" bibs with a red shirt and Santa hat and decorates the cab of the engine with lights. It looks like a disco inside! lol:cheesy: The kids and I pass out candy canes to everyone on the train with Merry Christmas wishes. And I get a Heavenly Ham and make a Christmas dinner for us and the rest of the crew.
  3. Probably 3/4 years ago Walmart had a laptop for $388. So, my FIL (who was on oxygen) and I trek to Wally world about 3 or 4 in the morning and get in line. We were probably 30th or 40th back. I knew the only way I had a remote chance of getting one was to make a run for it. When the doors opened I made a dash for it, with FIL in hot pursuit. Well, as much as somebody with an oxygen tank - who gets winded in about 5 minutes - can be in hot pursuit! When I make it back to the electronics there is already a big crowd around the checkout (they were keeping the laptops behind the register), with 1 girl at the register who CLEARLY had never worked BF before. The poor girl just stood there with this "deer in the headlights" look on her face as people with wads of money or credit cards in their hands were screaming at her. "I have money! I was here first! I want a laptop!!!!" Just then another male clerk comes over to this checkout and says "hey I need another laptop for someone over here" as he is pointing to the other register in electronics. I thought to myself, hey, its worth a shot... So as soon as that he handed the laptop to the third clerk I tugged his sleeve and said "Hey can I get a couple laptops and pay up front?". He just reached over and grabbed two and handed them to me!!! OMG, you shoulda heard the people yellin at him and me, as we made our way out of there. One lady was yelling at me "you didn't wait outside as long as I did!" (which for the record I did too! I remembered seeing her in line outside about 10 people behind me). I just smiled at her and said "hey, I can't help it if I'm assertive!!"
  4. Last year during BTS I found my DS notebooks of neon lined notebook paper at either Walgreens or Riteaid. I have been searching for these again for this year and cannot find any in the stores or online with the Mead website (I think it was this brand). We are trying to figure out if this will help him with his innattentive ADD. Apparently this has been found to be helpful for some. They usually respond to one certain color better than others as well. I have a friend who tried this with her son and she can tell a difference in his writing even. It is much neater when he uses neon green paper. If anyone has seen any, or knows of where I could find it I would be so grateful! TIA!
  5. The cashier that waited on me today said basically the same thing. The Portage store doesn't move merchandise as fast as the Kalamazoo West Main store and therefore markdowns are faster in Portage. Kalamazoo West Main dollar spot is 50% off black dot. There was quite a bit, but it was if they just dumped boxes of stuff that was all mixed up! There was summer, school/teacher, and pet stuff that I can remember. It was almost to crowded and hard to look thru without sending stuff falling to the floor.
  6. I scored the last 30" stool for $12.48 at my store (Portage, MI). My husband laughs at me, every time we go in there I make it a point to look for the MM juice boxes and I haven't found one yet.. (been looking for over a year!) I told him its like the "holy grail" of GD Those darn things are like finding a needle in a haystack!!!
  7. If she is wearing an XL in girls and is tall she will probably be a small/medium. The reason I do not recommend specifically one or the other is because they are making the clothes so form fitting now that you really need to go to one of the stores and compare and decide yourself. She may not like them really tight (or YOU may not like them really tight ). Also, sign up for their emails because they send you notices of sales and online specials quite often. Just got one today-check out their clearances!
  8. Right now Target has some tees in the Juniors Department that have some 80's stuff on them, the one in particular that I remember was "Frankie say Relax!". I think they were in the $10-15 range. HTH!
  9. You may want to check out the website www.americangirl.com. We just received an email a couple of days ago stating that they have up to 60% off select items. I'm sure it will not be off of any dolls, but you may be able to find clothes/accessories that are a decent price. Other than that I suggest if/when you do get a doll to check out your local craft shows for someone who makes and sells the clothes. Usually it is much cheaper to get them that way, and you don't have to pay shipping like on Ebay. Also-I think the sale on the website only lasted until approximately the 18th, but would have to double check on that.
  10. I have a friend who purchased this and is not happy with it. The size is correct and she states that they do not like it because you can only put small pieces of wood in it. HTH
  11. We got DD this for Christmas (Bestbuy BF deal) and she absolutely loves it. The only downfall we found is that we were told Kodak does not include the rechargeable batteries with their cameras. You have to buy them separate. Otherwise it has taken beautiful pictures.
  12. Sometimes shipping companies do not only charge by weight, they will charge by weight and size of the package. Last time I sent something by UPS they weighed and measured it. The only thing I would suggest is to look up a florist in the area online and call them directly to order as opposed to using somewhere like 1-800-flowers. I have had luck getting them cheaper when I have sent flowers to my mother like that. HTH
  13. Does anyone have the dpic for the pressure washer? Didn't find a past post with it. Sorry if I overlooked. TIA!
  14. My MIL and I just bought some today at Walmart. Kalamazoo, MI

  18. I saw a commercial this morning between 6am and 6:30 stating that they will be having the BF doorbusters this Saturday from 6am to midnite!!!! I am sooo going at the crack of dark Saturday!!!!
  19. I just got the correction email too. I wonder what they will say if you try using the first and play dumb about the second ---"I never received it"!
  20. Carnival Games and Playground are awesome games!! Just bought the Olympics game the other night, can't wait to try it out.
