  1. All I can say is... Accessory City...
  2. This is what we did for my nephew... he was out on his own...early... long story... but .... I bought him a laundry basket... and filled it with things ... like ... kitchen towels... tp.... paper towels and plates... a can opener.... bathroom stuff.... his favorite candy/snacks... little things that some young men dont think they will need untill.... they need it... I also included a gas card. You could do something like that for him and then get him 1 or 2 somethings he wants... even if its new movies... and an inexpensive dvd player... someone had one for $20 on BF. We do a care package like this maybe every 6mths or so and on his bday and christmas... it helps him stretch his budget and he loves looking for the funky things I try to include.
  3. Two years ago.... the week before Christmas...we had all 4 kids sent to grandmas.... and we changed their rooms around and did make overs on all of them. On Christmas Eve after we got home from the family party... everyone went to the master bedroom with out going to their end of the house.... they woke up Christmas morning.. and there were unwrapped tv boxes.... with clothes in them. We told the kids before they could open the rest of the presents they had to put up there new clothes... it was priceless.... they all went to the wrong rooms.... and my dd 13 went to her "own" room... she had been sharing with her little sister forever... it was classic... she cried and cried... so...we do domething funky with the presents every year....
  4. We do post it notes.. I collect them through the year... and give the kids funny ones. Its a communication tool here.... We always do their deo, soap, body stuff, razors... all that hygenie stuff... and my mom... throws in the kids favorite weird thing they like to eat... dd14 jar of cherries, ds12 can of mandarin oranges, dd10 can of olives, and ds 4 can of bean dip. They know its strange but wouldnt change it for anything, sometimes I think they look forward to the stocking part more than the gifts.
  5. How about a trip to the local opera/show/ballet. I know at Christmas time there are quite a few things like that in Tulsa, that are not expensive. Or a limo ride of all the holiday lights in town. There are quite a few of those in the area as well, they also do helicopter rides of the lights. Try some of the local museum displays, tickets to that would seem fancy smancy but really are reasonable.
  6. Jcpenny.com.... they even have some outlet clothes... in big and tall
  7. How about the itouch? That is what my fil wants... I need details... PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
  8. lol.. thats a pic of the one I got at the garage sale. It works great... and is sturdy enough that I can lay sorta... with him if I need to.
  9. lol... Little Tykes has girl beds too.... They are pink... and not cars...kinda like doll houses.
  10. jcpenny home store or jcpenny has awesome sales.
  11. Are there any kids resale shops/consignment shops in your area? Try at Sears, and Walmart, you might also look online at JCpenny. We got ours... at a garage sale, it was solid oak... and had side rails that screwed on.
  12. Are you near an Aldi? If you go to the website... www.aldi.com... and look under special purchases, it looks like they will be having some for BF. Also, try Gordmans and Big Lots.
  13. Do you live near an Ulta? or Sephora? They will help (free) you match your skintone to the foundation you are trying to buy. Ulta always has some sort of special coupon going on. Try www.ulta.com and look around. Walgreens will also have cosmetic deals quite often.
  14. We gave my dd's teacher, a gift card to office depot and one to sonic.
  15. ok... after reading the whole building thingy part... Lowes has "real" little tools for the boys his age. It has a level, a square, a tape measure, and all sorts of stuff like that. Sear should have the kids craftsman workbench on sale BF. You might give him his own tool box with supplies. We wouldnt think twice about putting together a dress up chest for my dd. So build him his own "tool chest", put tape and color wonder stuff in it, floam, or moon sand, extra tissue holder, little boxes, old gift cards, and anything "crafty" you make projects with, you can probably find him a book on how to make stuff on clearance at borders.... and then let him go... sounds like a NASA engineer in the making.
  16. Ok... gotta do the make up and hair... geesh... the news is everywhere... and sure as I dont... somebody who knew me when will see me and then omg... it will be all over the town did you know so and so was out and omg.. did she look bad. Yes that small town crap... but otherwise... jeans... tshirt... hoodie... and coat and gloves depending on temp. A blanket in the car and those hand warmer things. NO PURSE, there have been a lot of robberies in the recent years so... everything in a pocket... and NO CASH or very little. Geesh... im tired just thinking of it... oh and my lucky tennis shoes..
