TIVO HD Available with Product Lifetime Service (again)!
Brad replied to DaveL's topic in Online Hot Deals
Just be sure your cable company isn't fully moving to SDV (switched digital video) anytime soon. I've had the Tivo Series 3 (HD) model for over a year now, and my cable company (Time Warner) has started adding new HD channels but is only making them available to those with cable boxes/DVRs. Different areas have different situations. Some cable companies are moving faster than others to SDV. You don't want to pay $700 for a lifetime sub only to find out in 6 months that you can't get many of your favorite channels using the Tivo. -
Yeah that is typical for prices. There haven't been too many in the ads. Staples has a Sony model for $89 I believe. You are better off waiting and picking one up online. For example, here is a decent-reviewed one at Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136112 Maybe wait until the various online Black Friday sales start and see if there are any deals.

We actually were trying to get a shirt to him. We had a sample GD golf shirt that we sent but it wasn't the right size. I don't think the t-shirts were out yet at that point.

And please, no making fun of Marcster's awful shirt

Our previous records: 2004: Most users ever online was 232, 11-25-2004 (Thursday) 2005: Most users ever online was 962, 11-22-2005 (Tuesday) 2006: Most users ever online was 1,823, 11-22-2006 (Wednesday) We had a steady 1,200+ during the day today. We should have a few very big news stories tomorrow, and the Wednesday before BF was the busiest day last year. Anyone think we'll break the record tomorrow (or Thursday)? I remember when the 232 was such a huge deal back 3 years ago, lol. Now we have that many on at 3 in the morning

Do you hear that Wal-Mart? Do you hear that Target? Do you hear that Linens-n-Things? Do you hear that OfficeMax? Do you hear that Big Lots? etc... People actually like to have information and time to look at it, and it *gasp* makes them want to go shopping even more! Imagine that!

Big Jim Slade's Black Friday Interview by CNBC, DMN, AP (UPDATED)
Brad replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2007
I saw the article earlier today and just skimmed through it and it didn't even connect that this was the one you were interviewed for. To be honest, it makes you sound a little crazy, lol (kidding ). Seriously, good job and thanks for doing it. Any word if it's going to be a television story on CNBC as well, or just web? -
With it being so close to BF and so many retailers already posting ads on their site, we are not going to officially add any more ads to the site this year. You are free to type up lists, post links to ads on retailer web sites, or if you have an ad and want to scan it and post it, feel free. We're going to be extremely busy the next 3 days with updating the various online sales that we just don't have the time to add more items to the BF site. If you have a shopping list on the BF site, there is a large "notes" box at the bottom that you can edit and include items that are not posted on the BF site :)

Big Jim Slade's Black Friday Interview by CNBC, DMN, AP (UPDATED)
Brad replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2007
Someone just registered the domain blackfriday.com but never does anything with it. Instead they just put ads on it and hope people will type the address in their address bar looking for legit BF info and end up clicking on their ads. I've made numerous attempts to contact the owner to see if I could buy the domain, but so far I've had no luck. I guarantee I could pay more than they make with those ads on it. -
The "instant savings" from BB are based on retail price which almost nobody pays anyway, so I wouldn't say you are truly saving that much $. Also, are you sure you'll get Reward Zone points for items paid for with Gift Cards? I thought I remember reading that it was not allowed. From the rules:

I'll try to find out when these items start...

We get a lot of PMs and e-mails from those of you who appreciate what this site offers wondering about how you can help out. All we ask is when you shop online that you go through links on the site. Not that admins or mods have to explain why things are moved, but this forum is not for posting deals. It is for discussing all other aspects of shopping. Look around - there are many other threads dealing with store complaints in this forum.
-
Yeah, the "Buy Online" link just means the item is listed on BestBuy.com. It in no way guarantees that a) the item will be in stock later this week and the item will be at the BF price.
-
Buy.com has also been promoting various kitchen appliances from Fujitronic. Don't know if both these stores entered into some big agreement with the company or what, but I've been seeing that brand for weeks now.
