  1. For the 843rd time, DO NOT post about sharing Prime accounts with other members or solicit other members to join you. While it may technically be allowed, it is against the program terms if you are not in the same household.

  3. November was pretty bad overall: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081204/ap_on_bi_ge/retail_sales_5
  4. The grand prize winner is triplej2002. I'll be sending you a PM shortly to get your details. The 3 runners-up who will receive a GD t-shirt once we get the newly designed shirts early next year are aprncess, brianatwcc and jarerice. You 3 will be contacted once we have the new t-shirts. Congrats to all, and thanks again to Geeks.com for sponsoring the contest.
  5. With 95% of Cyber Monday sales now over, we've closed that forum and moved those threads to the "Expired Deals" sub-forum of the Online Hot Deals forum. Now, for all of the latest hot deals, check out the main Online Hot Deals forum here: http://forums.gottadeal.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2 It's by far the most popular board on here and along with the main GottaDeal.com site is where you'll find the best deals all year long. As mentioned before, the BF and Holiday boards will stay open until around Christmas before being archived.

  7. the problem is going to be only having 3 more weekends between BF and Christmas as opposed to the normal 4
  8. check out the dvdtalk.com forums - they'll help you more than you can imagine
  9. The entry period for this contest is now over. The mods and myself will now discuss the entries and determine the winners. Expect an announcement towards the middle of next week.
  10. FYI, the 15% gap.com and FS codes are stackable tomorrow
  11. You must not do a lot of online shopping. This kind of thing happens at every online retailer, not just Walmart. It's just one of the chances you take when you order online, especially during a very busy time like when the BF sale was online.
  12. Another update: Now that the online versions of the store's Black Friday sales are over with, we have "archived" the Black Friday site and are now redirecting people who go to the BF site to our main year-round GottaDeal.com online deals site. If you still want to view the old Black Friday site to check out the ads, you can access it here: http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/home.php We'll keep that site up as it is for several more months until we start to prepare for Black Friday 2009. The various interactive elements (shopping list, contact/ad submission forms) have been turned off. The ad scans are still available here: http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/AdScans We'll leave those up only for a few more weeks, so if you want to "collect" them and save them to your computer, do so in the next week or two. We may add a "gallery" of past year's ads to next years BF sites for the major stores. We've also moved the Black Friday-only threads from the Online Black Friday Sales sub-forum to their individual store forums. We renamed that forum to Online Cyber Monday Sales and the threads left are for sales still valid on Monday. We'll be adding more Cyber Monday sale info as we receive it. Next week, we'll also close that particular sub-forum and all further online deals will be posted in the main Online Hot Deals forum at the top of the forum listing. As I mentioned in the first post of this thread, we'll keep the rest of the BF forums open for another month or so before archiving them all as we've done the last 4 years. We'll then have 5 full years of archived BF discussion available to browse.
  13. nope, not much sleep this past week. but i plan to make up for some of it tomorrow, so don't expect such prompt responses (at least not from me, lol)
  14. First, thanks to everyone - forum members, mods and everyone else associated with the site - for making this another great Black Friday on the site. Despite all the doom and gloom news reports, traffic was up, it appears you all were spending more online, and other than a few minor hiccups, the servers held up pretty good this year. Next, as we've told you a thousand times already, we're open all year long. The Black Friday and holiday forums will be closed and archived in about a month, but the rest of the forums and the main GottaDeal.com deal site is open all year long, so we hope you'll stick around. And a warning: if you leave us now, we'll ban you from ever coming back. OK, not really, lol. But if for whatever reason you aren't going to stick around, make sure you are subscribed to our BF mailing list so you can be notified when we open the 2009 site next summer/fall. You can sign up for the list here. Next, if for whatever reason you need to save the items on your shopping list on the BF site, do so in the next day. On Sunday night, we'll be clearing out the shopping list database and archving the BF site to a read-only version. We'll keep it up for a few months in case you need to view any of the ads, but your shopping lists will be gone. So again, thanks for a great BF and we hope you'll stick around :) Update 11/30: Another update: Now that the online versions of the store's Black Friday sales are over with, we have "archived" the Black Friday site and are now redirecting people who go to the BF site to our main year-round GottaDeal.com online deals site. 18. sale is now live
  19. most of the doorbusters are now online www.sears.com
  20. now they are saying 2am PST. here are the deals:
  21. 5 minutes to go... here's the link again: http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=384082011 might be a good idea to get ready to refresh just in case they have something big right at the start that might sell out quickly... don't forget the lightning deals every hour of the day as well
  22. you might have to refresh the page that loads a few times to get it to show the BF deals
  23. Sale has started: http://www.overstock.com/black-friday/19688/static.html?cid=135239&fp=F&siteID=RjWYtCqO0.M-4uB5xDugkyvoBKeZyqRKhw Wii in stock: http://www.overstock.com/20608/static.html?TID=BF11
  24. HOWEVER, I just checked the thread for last year and they had the same message, but starting at around 4am ET you could begin placing orders, so the 6am time is not firm. In fact some of the items were sold out between the 4am time and the "official" 6am start.
  25. nope. i alternate between napping and making sure the site is up and running and all that good stuff. and even if i did go out, i saw nothing in the ads this year that would have been worth it.
