i dont remember anyone predicting HPB, let alone picking the correct date.
-
this ad is very similar to what they did last year, so i wouldn't read too much into it. they sent the ad direct to us again, so i am going to try and get them to give us some GCs or swag to give away too :) but at least we finally have an ad, lol

GottaDeal.com Holiday Giveaway 2009 - WINNERS POSTED!
Brad replied to Brad's topic in Online Hot Deals
an added "feature" of the netbook we're giving away is with a little work, it can run mac os x on it: http://uneasysilence.com/archive/2008/10/13519/ -
Keep in mind that they aren't being as mean as other stores - they say in the message they will provide us with the ad in early November once it is finalized. That is still weeks before BF. They did this last year as well.

We got last year's letter on 10/2.
-
Today we received a letter via certified mail from Walmart's legal representatives stating that the release date for the Walmart Black Friday ad this year is November 23rd. The letter states that we are not allowed to post the ad until that time. Obviously we are once again disappointed with this development. However you may remember Walmart let their ad be posted a little earlier than their stated date last year, so this 11/23 date may not be set in stone. Stay tuned for further updates...

2008 BF Gottadeal.com Contests- who participated/won?
Brad replied to KrystalMae1231's topic in 2009
I don't think we even had shirts back in 2005. The site wasnt too popular back then. All stuff won is sent, and if it doesn't arrive, then I'm guessing your mail carrier is using it to clean their car or something, lol. -
got this e-mail through the site, so take it for what it's worth...
-
Haven't heard anything, but it wouldn't be surprising after the death/lawsuit last year.

As it gets closer to BF, we have a separate sub-forum just for the online BF shopping. We'll have a thread with a schedule of times when items will go on-sale online as well. Just keeping checking the forum here and you won't miss a thing.

A netbook would run MS Word, although the cheaper netbooks in the $99-149 range won't have Windows on them - it'll likely be some flavor or Linux, so you'd have to use something like OpenOffice on them instead of Word.

From here: http://www.energy.gov/news2009/7634.htm So it sounds like whether the program will be in effect on BF depends on how proactive your state is with getting their application in and approved. Some states might start their program earlier and others might wait until they receive the $, which might not happen until after BF. The amount each state gets is based on population, so California gets $35 million, but smaller states won't even get $1 million.
