peekaboo Posted September 9, 2009 Share Posted September 9, 2009 Does anyone know anything about the Coby MP3 Players? Big Lots has one that is a 4GB with Touch Screen for $50.00. My DD wants a touch screen Ipod but I do not feel she is responsible enough for one my nephew has one and she loved it but it was $200.00. I am not ready to put that out for something she may not take care of properly. So I seen this and thought it was a great deal but do not know anything about Coby. Any input would be appreciated. I stopped buying this brand years ago, but things may have improved since then. I'm not sure which one Big Lots has, but Coby has 2 touch screen mp3 players - one has a bigger screen and plays back video, while the other has a slightly smaller screen and doesn't support as many video playback formats - although it may play some videos. That being said, Amazon has the bigger screen one for $41 and the smaller screen one for $32 dollars. Shipping is free. No taxes. jonboy_nellie Posted September 10, 2009 Share Posted September 10, 2009 Keep in mind that what makes the ipod touch so appealing is mostly the apps and games, not so much the fact that its a touch screen mp3 player. If she is into listening to music on her cousins that is one thing, but if she was playing games all the time a generic is not going to be able to do that. Not saying you should shell out the money for an ipod, just beware of the differences and why she liked it to know if the other would appeal as well. I seen next weeks Big Lot ad and they have it again plus an emerson 4gb also for $50.00. So I still have all of next week and shop around and look at others and compare. The iTouch has a glass screen and responds to the heat from your fingers. Other touch screens, like cell phones, respond to pressure. Comparing them is like comparing apples to oranges!
