The program would be similar in format to some of the programs on HGTV or DIY.

A family that is having a difficult time financially gets a remake (taught how to bargain hunt) with examples of the types of deals available. :fluffy::2cloud9:

GOTTA FIND A DEAL TO GET A DEAL.

3 contestants like on jeopardy. Pick a topic. 100 to $1000 sub topic blocks with an item in it. Once revealed all contestants armed with laptops find the best deal on that one item in a certain amount of time. Best find wins that block and that amount of money. All deals found posted on gottadeal as soon as they are found. Final jeopardy would be to search all gotta deal deals and find the best deal.

I'm thinking SITCOM. Starts out set in an office setting, lots of twenty-something-underpaid-cubicle sitting-genius types who are always on the lookout for how to make their pennies stretch and their "bosses" (who happen to be Big corporate types who are getting rich off of the consumer) pay. I picture a setting not unlike The Office.....but without the peusdo-documentary type filming. There's an uber-nerd, Phil, who is only tolerated because he is such a whiz at finding the best techno-deals. Matrix Mike, who dodges almost getting busted doing the dirty work every week. And of course, office super hero, Lexi, who distracts upper-management with her feminine charms to keep the boys out of trouble. Of course, upper-management guys are portrayed as borderline dunces who never really quite catch on to how their employees are spending their time.

**Any names and/or personalities portrayed are purely fictional and are not based on any real person. Really.

My show would be based out of a large city (LA, Atlanta, Chicago, etc) in which 10 teams of 2 people per team would have to take a page off Gottadeal.com and find 5 actual in store deals. The last team to arrive back at a predetermined point would be eliminated. There will also be some side tests where a person must find an online deal and get an offline store to come as close to the deal as possible. That winner will keep that item.

This will continue until 2 teams are left. There will be a finale in which on Black Friday, the 2 teams must get as many of the deals as possible before noon. The trick is that they will not be allowed to camp out before midnight the night before so they must pick their stores carefully.

The winning team will be the one with the most deals (at the best price) and will get to keep all the items.

OK, my Idea...

A Family Guy spin-off

Rule the World by GottaDeal with host Stewie Griffin. Our favorite psycho baby hosts a game/reality show that follows several teams in a quest for world domination. The clevate is that all items/weapons/parts/materials needed to take over the world must be featured on GottaDeal!

Since Stewie does not reward failure, all the shows loosers get removed from the show in ever more inventive ways (catapult, trap door into a shark tank, dunked in honey and left near a red ant colony etc.)

Of corse if someone does win and take over the world, Stewie will give them the grand prize then eliminate the contestant/team so he may assume the role as world leader.

Gottadeal Idol

First round eliminations will be based on deal hunters from all over the country. Then the top 50 deal hunters will compete and be eliminated in a weekly show. Each week contestants will be required to find the best deals out there(either online or B&M) on their own with no help. The finale would be held on BF, with a list being given to the final two by Brad. The winner would be the one who gets the most on the lists and saves the most money.

Definitely a reality show.

It would be called "GOTTADEAL MEGASHOPPER MARATHON" and is sort of like Survivor for shoppers with fifteen teams of two chosen from registered Gottadeal members.

The teams would consist of two players with one person finding online only deals and the other team member finding in store only deals with a weekly budget. Their weekly budget would get smaller each week until the final week when they had only $20 to spend.

The game would start out with Brad instructing the players on rules and letting the players choose among themselves who will be the instore purchaser and who will be glued to the computer for online deals. All deals will have to be found on Gottadeal.com ONLY! Players will not be allowed to email or PM other Gottadeal members, but can make posts on the message boards if they find something to post about. There will be spotters from among the moderators who will keep an eye on all contestants to make sure they are only searching GottaDeal.com and that they are following all rules.

Then, each Friday, the team with the best combined deals purchased each week would get a reward (to keep their items) and the losing team would be out of the game. After 12 deals (6 members left), then the game becomes a solo competition with each person trying to find the best deal either online or in store with a lower budget each week until the final competition where they have a budget of only $20 and they have to get the biggest deal for under $20 (including any shipping charges if purchased online). They will have to use their wits in finding coupons for FS, % off, and the biggest sale that final week to be declared the GottaDeal Mega Shopper.

Who will win...who will outwit, outshop, and outlast in the GottaDeal Mega Shopper Marathon? Are you game?

Then let the deals begin!!!!

(I'll try to come back after work tomorrow and add some graphics, but this is my idea for the show). Thanks Brad and Gottadeal for providing such a great service for us and having such cool contests. )

Reality show where the shoppers have to try and break in line at BB and other stores on Black Friday to get the doorbusters. The one who gets the most items wins. It is so funny watching the early birds police the line at BB on BF !

A dramedy...A young 20-30 something college graduate who spends most of his time on this website he created called GottaDeal.com. And he/she is great at finding deals, compiling them for other shoppers. However, the rest of his/her life is in shambles, because he/she uses the website as an excuse not to "deal" with personal matters (family, love and relationships). Hence, the name: Gotta Deal.

One day each year is designated as an official “(insert your favorite U.S. state) Day” in New York City. On this day, former residents of the designated state gather for a picnic in Central Park to share food and stories from home and to make friends that will make their new home a little less intimidating. Even when we decide to leave it all behind, it is sometimes nice to realize that some small part came along for the ride.

There are some streets in “The City That Never Sleeps” that bear no resemblance to any other street in America. Instead, these streets have become immersed in the culture of their inhabitants and have marketplaces and restaurants that cater only to those residents. Even in a melting pot, you can find clusters of similarities if you know where to look.

At a small holiday themed restaurant in NYC, we watch four different people walk through the front door from various walks of life. The audience knows immediately that they have something in common, they just don’t know exactly what it is. The secret is that they are all elves. Well, not exactly. Two are exiled elves, one is the child of an elf (and Santa), and the fourth is an elf on assignment.

Here are the main characters.

Lars: He was one of the most accomplished "elf"letes in the history of the Reindeer Games. However, Lars had a different dream. He wanted to be an Olympic "elf"lete. Lars was willing to do anything to get into the Olympic Games, and in 2008 he went to Beijing as the first and only representative of the North Pole. An entire village gathered to watch Lars make Olympic history only to be embarrassed and ashamed by his performance. Lars finished last in every Decathalon event and was featured prominently on television newscasts as the first person ever to be disqualified for running under the hurdles. Worse yet, Lars tested positive for a human growth hormone and was banned from competition for life. Unable to return home and face the people who had entrusted him with their faith, Lars moved to New York City and took a job as the host at a restaurant called "The North Pole Bar and Grill."

Reginald: At one time, he was Santa's right hand man. In fact, Reg was the only elf entrusted with the responsibility of keeping Santa on track. Literally. He was the Director of the North Pole Air Traffic Control. However, Reg had a peculiar sense of humor that often was at odds with his position of trust within the Claus administration. He was verbally reprimanded when he gave four of the reindeer laxatives on Christmas Eve 2003. He was brought before the Elf Council and placed on probation for placing "You must be this tall to enter" signs outside of all of the corporate restrooms. Finally, he was banished from the North Pole entirely when he scrambled the NORAD tracking system and Santa recieved a decidedly unfriendly Air Force escort over Florida airspace. Reg now works dispatch at a NYC taxicab company. He spends most everynight at The North Pole Bar and Grill.

Freddie: He knew he was different from everyone else when he was cast as a child television star at the age of 37. Freddie enjoyed a four year run as “Little Timmy” on the family oriented show “Next Door Neighbors.” Actually, Freddie enjoyed himself a little too much and was fired from the show after “America’s Favorite Twelve Year Old” was chased down the Los Angeles Freeway with four hookers and enough cocaine in his system to get the entire “90210” blitzed. He avoided serious jail time by agreeing to do a series of public service announcements and donating more money than he had made in the last two years to drug and alcohol awareness programs. In New York City for just two days, he stumbled into the North Pole Bar and Grill just about 10 minutes before last call.

Elfis: He is an actual elf, sent by Santa to monitor the ex-patriated elves and determine whether they are worthy of being brought home. Just after he was born, his parents were killed in a tragic wooden block mishap at the toyshop. It turns out that all elf children who are abandoned by or lose their parents are adopted by the state and raised to become agents of the established government. Elfis is sent to NYC under the guise that he is a computer programmer putting together a website designed to help shoppers make their Christmas plans. At the North Pole Bar and Grill, he eats dinner every night at the same time at the same table. Mostly though, he watches. No one back home knows it, but Elfis has given a lot of thought to never returning to the real North Pole.

Over the course of the first season, we learn the back stories of each of the main characters and see how they fell from grace. We learn that the North Pole is a small industrial town and not at all like we expect it to be. We learn that Santa’s Toy Shop is the only thriving industry in the area, and that Freddie is Santa’s love child whose mother left the North Pole in order to preserve the family legacy. We also learn that Reginald’s wife chose to stay behind and keep his kids at the North Pole and that Lars is not the only one to blame for his problems. We also see the maturation of Elfis and witness his internal struggle to determine whether or not he wants to remain part of the North Pole culture.

GottaDeal is the name of the website that Elfis starts. In the pilot episode, Elfis and Freddie meet at the restaurant and Elfis talks Freddie into doing some promotional work for the website. Freddie is wholly uninterested in helping others at first, but sees the website as an easy way to fulfill the court ordered requirements of his probation. In the ensuing episodes, Elfis recruits Reginald and Lars to come onboard as well. As time passes, the company becomes very profitable and Elfis continues to struggle with his decision to stay in NYC or return to the North Pole. At the end of season one, Elfis makes his decision and it becomes clear which elves are good and which elves are not.

We also follow the day to day exploits of running the GottaDeal website. The competitive juices flow anytime that the GD staff butts heads with members of the NittyGrittyDirtCheap team. Hilarity ensues when the gang discovers that they have been fed bad information by a Department Store Santa after he is fired for refusing to say “HO!, HO!, HO!” With Hackers, Cyberstalkers, and at least one guest appearance by Al Gore, the first season is set to be chock full of good times and good deals.

Each season of the show would last only six episodes and would air from Thanksgiving to Christmas.

Ten teams would be selected, each team would have 3 different members. The teams would be doing different tasks each show in order to find the best deals on certain items. After an event, the team that isn't able to complete it or finds the worst deal is eliminated. Different events could be selected for each show, this is just a few different ideas:

Event #1

The members would be taken to a city (based on what city the show is in) downtown to try to fill a prompt, which would be buying a list of items that are strange and hard to find at a good price. Some of the items would be easy to find, but hard to find a shocking price on (coffee for example) and others would be extremely hard to find, and there would be small room for a different price to pop up (a certain kind of wood, etc).

The rules would be:

-Items must be from a respectable retailer

-You would only have 3 hours to complete the task

-You are not allowed to leave the city or have anyone outside your group help you

-Teams aren't allowed to ask for "special discounts" or say that they are on the show

Event #2

This could be an event for the final two teams. Basically, they'd get to pick a city to go to, any city in the US, and will randomly be given ten items that are very hard to find in that area.

Basically, they'd do the same as above, just on a smaller scale.

Event 3

Yet another idea could be in the start of the show, each team would be given a list of ten items at certain prices. If the team believes that they are awesome deals and they can't beat them, they can take the list and it could be as if they found the items on their own. If not, they can turn down the list, and would have 8 hours to find a better deal on any number of the listed items.

Each list would show the total savings on the items. If you go out and only get 5/10 of the items, but get better total savings than what was the worst team's list, you're in.

Rules:

-Once you turn down the list, it's gone, there is no going back

-Same shopping rules as above

-You cannot talk about what your total saving amount is with the other teams

Event #4

Another cool event would be a how much for your money like thing. A number would be stated, and each team can't go over that number, and they would try to get the biggest total savings number possible. The cost of the item would be found by taking the average of all local prices. Anyway, same rules as above, and they wouldn't be allowed to get under or over the number (tax not applying).

The last team wins: wins $1M, and gets to keep all of the items that they bought.
