cassgurlie04
Just wondering how much planning everyone puts into bf shopping, i personally like to make it asap, so as soon as the ads start to allow my plan comes together.
Miss Star
As soon as the ads come in and I figure out what I want I start planning.
shopping mom
I start making list and plans with each ad, I also watch online deals to see if they are beating the prices before BF. However I don't finalize anything until Thanksgiving night when I have the ads in hand.

BrandyJervas
I usually already have my game plan in play before the ads come out it's the same stores in the same order every year Walmart, TRU, Target, KMart, BRU, and then any others if I feel my mom does the mall for me since she's there anyway (she's head of security) so I don't have to do KBToys or BBW or any of those (thanks mom) so it just depends on what I want from the store as to what I get usually toys and clothes minor electronics
mgmckny
As soon as I know what's in the ads. Some years there is nothing I want/need/find interesting enough to go camp out for (last year). In fact last year I ordered most of what I needed online and went to Walgreens and Harbor Freight (for my youngest brother-- he did Staples for me). 3 boys
looks like everyone is waiting on some ads......... I think we need a covert op to a printing plant. Who's in?!?
cambo357
yes, I usually do plan as soon as the ads allow. we usually do BB, but are able to adapt as needed. even without planning, we already have measures in place. everybody in the group has cell numbers and emails at the ready. line waiters and support crew have already been determined. we have "go bags/boxes" ready. these have our basic supplies in them, are ready to grab at a moments notice or are already in a truck. we are flexible, and capable of adapting to the situation as dictated by the latest intel and developments. this means that though a major part of the plan is in place, we are actually reworking details of it the entire time, up to and including the line wait. queenofshopping
For the adults, weeks before, but for the kids, unfortunately, I can't finalize until Thanksgiving, when I pass the circulars around for them to get ideas from - asking for ideas over the phone never works, but I've found that, with pictures put in front of them, they can at least give me a general idea of what they want. Anyway, yay, first post of BF '08! It's great to be back!
JohnnyLaRue
I do use the early release ads to have my pre-game plan. Then I adjust and make a final decision the day before.

Tara3117
I read all the ads when they come out and I kind of have an idea, but I have a Thanksgiving night strategy session over pie with my friend that I shop with and his family. I can barely get my brother and his wife to send me a list before I leave BF morning, so it's kind of hard for me to really make my final plan. Yakyma
I start with a list of ideas months before the ads come out, but am flexible if a really great deal comes along and works as a gift for someone. Once the ads are out I have the basic plan of action, it gets finalized Thanksgiving evening with everyone getting their list of what and where, along with updated cell phone numbers of all who are going, we usually have someone new joining us every year. If we have already sent someone to camp out we always go and visit plus we bring along a few of the many desserts that we have ejoyed during our final plan of attack meeting. zim05
Usually I'll come up with a possible plan after the Ads leak and let my mom and sis know about any must haves. But the final plan is thought up on Thanksgiving when we have the actual paper ads.
mgmckny
Well now that we can't have access to the Big Lots ad, I guess I will be scrambling on TGiving Day to come up with a plan. NOT!!
PentiumMMX
Since I subscribed to the newsletter here, I've made my plans as soon as the ads start flowing in (Planning when I get up and go, what areas I'll hit in what order, and if I get separated from my group, where we'll meet up in the store)
Scanner420
My plans actally start @ tax time. I got TRU money and a Target Card because those are the stores I know I'll be hitting the hardest for Toys and whatnot. My DW also plans for babysitting and I plan my hours @ work to schedule my time off for BF shopping. So shopping plans happen when the ads come out, but the actual laid out plans for BF happen long before.
elena_398
I don't have a plan this year. Im pretty much done with shopping except for stocking stuffers. My plan is to NOT impulse buy. lol

kboyts
I usually have my game plann pretty much mapped out as soon as the add get leaked. But then sit down thanksgiving day and rehash the plan for any needed updates and last minute changes/ideas. I actually started a few weeks ago, cashing in reward poitns, and all of my various survey accounts for gift cards to use on BF.
