shopping mom Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 DIL wants a digital camera. Does anyone here have the Casio EX-Z9 shown in the Radio Shack list for BF? It looks like there is a free printer with rebate. I read reviews at Amazon.com. Just wanted some opinions here. I have also thought about the Kodak one at Sears.
j9k Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Anyone hear of a deal for a Canon 40D yet? With the 50D being introduced to the market this year, I've been so hopeful that there would be great BF sales on the 40D
racerfan Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I need help. I am looking for 2 digital cameras for my kids. I purchased one tonite at the Sears VIP (the pink Samsung for 79.99) and ordered the 10mp Samsung for $99.99. After purchasing the pink Samsung I realized that it took regular batteries. So does the one iI ordered. Are there any in the ad that have a good rep but have the rechargeable li-on battery. I am getting so confused with all of them and when I check out the reviews at Amazon some of them dont say if there is a rechargeable battery. Thanks for any and all help you can give me. Will this thread have a comparison chart of all the cameras being offered on BF. I think it was done last year but I cant remember.

Before I got my DSLR camera, I had one that used AA batteries, and I bought 2 sets for the camera. That was in 2005. I STILL have the batteries that I use for various things, and I am about to pass that particular camera on to my daughter since she is getting old enough to learn how to use it.

One of the reasons I dont want to get them a camera that is not rechargeable is the possibility of them lmisplacing the rechareable batteries. At least with the built in li-on one less worry. I also find that the batteries that recharge compared to the built in dont last as long. I prefer to get built in rechargeable as much as a can otherwise I would have about 25 different sets of rechargeable batteries.
amyelizabethau Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Hi I was wondering if anyone could recommend from the ads that are already posted, a digital camera thats on sale that has the option to take a black and white photo with just a hint of color in it? Like making everything black and white but maybe a necklace/or shirt. I'm not sure what this option is called, but I will probably be shopping at best buy or target that day but if there was a great deal on a camera like this in another ad i may be willing to make another stop! Thanks for any suggestions!
hairprincessnyu Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I am looking to spend $150 or under for a digital camera and need some help. My preferred brands are Nikon, Canon, or Sony. Possibly open to others except kodak!! I want something that will take clear pictures even if my hands shake. Also must take good night pics, action pics, red eye resolution, and good up close pics, like clear lines in a book. Also must take sd cards. Willing to spend up to $200, but would rather stay around $100-$150 if possible. I have had horrible luck with kodaks!! Any advice much appreciated!!! TIA!
wx4svr Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 WalMart has a $69.99 Doorbuster point and shoot. I think it is a 8 MP... which is PLENTY for a casual user. I think you would be good with that.
Marcster Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 How about this: http://i.testfreaks.co.uk/images/products/600x400/47/samsung-s860.197423.jpg SAMSUNG S860 Black 8.1 MP 2.4" 230K LCD 3X Optical Zoom Digital Camera $88.99 $8 off all Digital Cameras coupon code CAMERA118 [Exp 11/30] Shipping is around $9.00 for UPS 3-day. Go here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16830144134 "CNET editors' take * By: Will Greenwald * Published on: 12/04/2007 Samsung just revealed two new budget digital cameras, the 7-megapixel S760 and the 8-megapixel S860. They don't have much in the way of gimmicks or high-end features, but with respective suggested retail prices of $170 and $180, we wouldn't expect them to. Besides the different resolutions, the S760 and S860 are essentially identical cameras. Both use the same 38mm-to-105mm-equivalent 3x lens, bolstered slightly by the camera's sensitivity-bumping, shutter-quickening digital image stabilization. They include a handful of useful software features, like a face-detecting autofocus/auto-exposure mode and a variety of on-camera photo-editing options. They don't seem to offer anything unique to really separate them from the growing number of sub-$200 7- and 8-megapixel cameras out there, but they still present an option for budget-conscious users. Samsung plans to ship both the S870 and S760 in January. hairprincessnyu Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 (edited) Ok can someone please help me? :) I am looking at three cameras1) The Cannon Powershot SD1100 IS2) The Sony Cybershot DSC-W553) The Canon Powershot 870 IS I want something with good image stabilization, my hands shake. Also want something with a red eye corrector, good night shots, and good battery life. If it takes an SD card, that is even better. I have looked at Cnet for all of these cameras, and I don't really see much of a difference. However, I can't find anything about what kind of batteries they take, or what kind of storage, ie memory card, stick etc... Can anyone help me out here? The SD is cute and small but so is the 870 and I think the 870 has a few more features. Do not get the Sony. I'm not a huge fan of using memory sticks in the first place, and second, my brother bought a sony and it died after day 1. Teaches him right to abandon the Canons. I have the SD750 which I like for something that is small, portable and takes good pictures. Definitely learn how to use the features on your camera - there are quite a lot - to take better pictures. I had an old Canon S500 and it took awesome pictures until it started to die... *sigh*
lincolndog Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Any thoughts on the Samsung? Is it a compact or ultra?
racerfan Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 I got the Samsung 860 for my DD10 for Xmas. I got the pink one at Sears Friends and family. It will be $79.99 on BF. It looks like a pretty good camera. I cannot open it since it is in a plastic wrapping. I do know it takes AA batteries. Originally I was going to return it but I decided to buy rechargeable batteries for her to use. I think it is a great 1st camera. She always wants to take pictures with mine or my cell phone.
left210 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Does anyone know anything about the Kodak 1063 camera at Target?
luv2scrap85 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I just saw (yesterday) a Nikon Coolpix S550 for $149 somewhere and now I don't know where! I know I got an email that I clicked on, but I can't find it either! Did anyone else see that sale? I know it was online... Thanks, Annette:confused:

I am sure most digital cameras have this.
kren Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Yeah, I think a lot of P&S cameras have this option - my DSLR does not, so it requires software...
