Rock Band

Recommended Posts

Rock Band bundle is on sale for both WII and PS2 this week for $100.00. I want to get it and put it away for X-mas for my daughter but I do not know which system it is better on. I have only played it on X-box. Please give me your opinion on which system you think it is better on.

Thanks

I will check when I go home and post it this evening. I think it might of been Circut City but not 100% sure. I am going to take the ad to Walmart and have them do a price match. No that is not the normal price for the PS2. My walmart has it for $149.00.

going thru all my sale papers for this week and it is KMart that is showing RockBand for Wii on sale this week for 99.99.

Dang. I was all excited for a few minutes. LOL. Would much rather have this for Wii then PS2. I just looked through my Kmart ad and it says $99.99 for Rockband for PS2. Underneath that in small writing it says $169.99 for the WII, PS3 and Xbox. :( I will still have to check out Walmart store though since the webiste has ti for Wii for $139 I think it was.

I do not have my ad with me but I just took a look on line and I am wrong I am sorry. It is for PS2 at Circut City. Where they put the price I thought it was for the wii and they were listing $169.00 as the normal price. I am sorry for the mispost for the wii. Though $100.00 still good for PS2.

I just looked online at the Circuit city ad and was coming to post this. The $99.99 deal is for the PS2. Then it is showing on Circuti city you get free drum silencers with the purchase for this and there is a code for 1% off as well for the PS2 one. Think I am going to take advantage of this even though we would rather have it for WII. Thanks anyways.

Boy that Kmart ad is misleading.

Yeah and so was the Circuit City one. :(

Oh well. I just went to Circuit City website and got the Rock Star for PS2 with free drum silencer and used the 10% off code and got it for $95 and some change. I chose in store pickup since UPS usually brings this stuff to me from Circuit City without a box so the kids know what it is coming up the drive way. :( I am going back to order the Guitar Hero Aerosmith for hubby now since it only allows you to get 10% off one thing per code. I also used a certain points site that gives you 4 points per dollar on Circuit City. HTH some of you.

Mom older son has it for the Wii and my little guys have it for the PS2. My son says they are the same except the Wii is white and the PS2 is black. They have the same songs. I was waiting to get the Wii one for my little guys but opted for the PS2 when it went down to $99.00. I don't see why I'd spend the extra money on the Wii for the same item.

And Yes, the RockBand 2 is coming out (sceduled to come out before Christmas). You can pre-order now for Xbox (I think) but it comes out earlier than the other formats for some reason.

And my little guys also have the Rockband track pack Vol 1. It has an extra 20 songs. Now on this disk you can actually read the words much clearer.

Just an FYI, The main difference between the PS2 version and the others are that you can download additional songs on the other systems. With the PS2 you only get the songs that come preloaded. The PS2 version also won't let you customize your characters or go on tour or any of the fun extras that the others have. All you get to do is play the songs with characters the game selects for you. The world tour and character creation are really fun and make the game alot more personal. A suppose a younger kid wouldn't mind but my DH and I along with our friends (all in our early to mid 20s) wouldn't have near as much fun if one of our friends didn't have the xbox 360 version. I personally would wait until Rockband 2 comes out since the instruments are getting some major improvements. The instruments will be interchangeable but the Rockband 2 ones have some much needed improvements. I would just wait for 2 and buy the bundle and buy just the game disk for 1. JMHO

Here are the specs for RB2.

From the minds of Harmonix, MTV Games and EA Inc! Following up on their success from last year, Harmonix now comes to you with the next version of monster innovation of music gameplay! Starting first with a greatly improved fully-playable drumset and a long list of firsts in the Music Gaming Business:

This game is the first and only video game to feature the music of AC/DC. It includes their epic rock anthem, "Let There Be Rock.”

For the first time ever, music from American music icon, Bob Dylan, is featured in a video game with “Tangled Up In Blue.”

This game will feature backwards compatibility with all Rock Band downloadable music content released to date.

Owners of the original Rock Band will have the ability to export most of the Rock Band disc tracks and upgrade them into This Game's gameplay-the first time ever in videogame history!

With ongoing weekly DLC releases including individual tracks, track packs and full albums, the Rock Band music library will feature more than 500 Songs by year’s end!

And a setlist that includes over 70 songs, with another 10-15 unlockables!
