    Petsense BF?

Does anyone know if Petsense does a BF sale? One just opened last year in the town I'm spending Thanksgiving in. I like to stock up on stuff at Petsmart but I'll be an hour away from the nearest one and thought Petsense may have a decent sale.
  2. From my browsing both the "national" ad and Oklahoma's ad, it seems that all the electronic are quite a bit higher. Most appear to be at least $50 more but one of the TVs is $300 more in OK. If you're going to be near the border it might be worth crossing the line to get a better deal. We're going to Arkansas City, KS instead of Ponca City, OK. If you're just going after some of the cheaper stuff ($10-$50) it seems to be only a few dollars difference.
  3. I got an email from big lots on friday that advertised their "final christmas clearance" with 50% off everything except gift sets which were 30%. I guess 75% will be either late this week or next week.
  4. I went to mine in Oklahoma City around noon and it wasn't too terribly busy. There was a ton of stuffed marked down and they kept bringing out more! I went back in around 3pm and it was a mad house. I was able to get 2 pairs of coach shoes on the second trip. I wandered into the handbags and there was still a big pile of coach and Dooney & Burke bags. No one really seemed to be interested in them. I grabbed a coach wristlet for my mom. Between both trips I spent around $500 but got a ton of new work clothes that I badly needed! I never waited more than a minute to check out and several of the cashiers didn't have anyone waiting at their register. It was pretty odd.
  5. I made a haul yesterday AND today! This was my first Target toy clearance experience and it was great! I don't know if it's just my Target or not but I went into mine today to pick some other things and walked by the toys and the aisles that were almost empty yesterday when I left were full of 75% toys! A lot of them were ones I saw yesterday at full price including and entire aisle of lego sets. My nephews are going to have more legos than they know what to do with! I haven't brought it in from the car yet but I know I got 2 different large HP sets, 4 large City sets and a ton of the medium size sets. Some of the medium and small sets I got rang up 90% off! And my Target was almost dead yesterday morning. I got there around 8:30 and there wasn't a soul to be seen. The markdown team actually commented that I was the first person there. 2 people showed up after I was almost done and there was still a ton of stuff left.
  6. This is my first time "perimeter perusing" since I just moved to a city with a target so I hope I'm doing this right! Summer in NW Oklahoma City went straight from full price to 70% today which was odd. I had scanned a few items and they were regular price then I saw the markdown team go through and everything scanned 70% off. It was already really picked over but I did find some good deals. Folding Chairs with backpack straps 00909189 were 29.xx for 8.99 24 oz Metal water bottle 091020482 was 4.99 for 1.49 72in Beach Towels 064041057 was 12.xx for 3.89 Portable Chair (ones in a bag) 091070079 was 12.99 for 3.89 The beach towels were over by bedding on a rack with other beach towels that were still regular price. They are really nice and plush towels! I dug through and the ones on sale had mini summer in the top right corner of the hangtag. The portable chair was in the 4th of July stuff. There were lots of youth portable chairs in the summer section as well as plastic tablewear and some big metal buckets. Our outdoor furniture is still full price! I've been watching a small patio set for 3 weeks and it always rings up full price along with all the other outdoor stuff I rang up. If anyone sees the outdoor solar party lights go on sale please give me heads up, our new apartment doesn't have any outdoor outlets and I really want some string lights on our patio.
  7. I've used both the 4.5 and the 5qt and I have found the 5qt to be much more useful. The 4.5 qt is just a little too small to accommodate double batches of cookies or single batches of bread. If you need the power of a kitchenaid you will probably want the larger one. If you watch for good sales you can get the 5qt for about the same price of the 4.5qt.
  8. Check Amazon. Usually the different colors are all different prices. The price fluctuates so much that it's hard to "report" a good price. I got my 5qt Artisan in December for $160. Right now they range from $231-299 depending on color. http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-KSM150PSWH-Artisan-5-Quart-Mixer/dp/B00005UP2K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1304437973&sr=8-1 I think it's worth the extra money for the 5qt, especially if you stalk amazon price changes. You can save a lot if you aren't picky on color. The exotic colors are always more expensive than the standard colors.
  9. Definitely be wary of what size David's Bridal wants you to try on. I walked in and told them I was a size 4, the lady looked at me and said oh no, you're an 8. She brought out tons of size 8 dresses and all of them were huge on me. She kept assuring me that they could take it up (and charge a ton for it). I finally sent my mom to get the same dress I had on but in a size 4 and it fit almost perfectly (a little big in the waist). The saleslady kept telling me that I really needed the 8 and have it taken up. We finally ended up leaving after I decided to get the 4 and the lady "couldn't find it" and tried to switch it out for the 8 when we were paying. I ended up up with an even better dress from a local bridal shop for $230 regular price. The construction of that one was so much better than the DB dress. You really can find wonderful deals at local shops and they usually have reasonable alterations or will give you a reference to a good seamstress. I also saved money on DH's tux by renting it from the same place I bought my dress. They did the alterations (shorten the front) for $20 and even steamed and held the dress for me until 2 days before the wedding when we picked up the tuxedos. Definitely look at the local places, they truly are better and more helpful than the big retailers!
  10. Our Sam's Club is really nice and has tons of samples on the weekends, don't know about during the week. I use my aunt's membership so we don't have to pay our own. I know they used to let you put 3 people on a membership, not sure if they still do. We split the fee with my aunt so it's cheaper. They mail coupon books out and ours usually has some by the door so you can grab an extra one. It usually has better coupons than the normal manuf. ones we get in the paper.
  11. FYI, I did call one of the assistant managers that same day, he's a friend, and told him what happened. He said that their computers weren't ringing anything up on sale that morning so they were having to manually override. He asked me what time was on my receipt and said they realized the system was working 15 minutes after I checked out. He told the store manager about it and he said that was fine, he just wanted it all gone. I asked if they were going to go lower and he told me that on the 15th the store manager said to let people pay what they want to for the stuff left. I was in there yesterday and they still had a ton of lights and even trees! The one worker in that section said they were getting ready to bring more Christmas stuff from the back that never got put out. I may need to borrow my brother's truck on the 15th!
  12. I went this morning and it was all 80% off. I got some wrapping paper, a tree skirt I've been looking at since September, some lights and some potted poinsettia centerpieces. I was shocked when I looked at the garland and some of it was still $10 after 80% off! They had a ton and most of the people there this morning were buying the cheaper plain green garland. I want some of the fancy garland but I'm not sure I'd be will to pay $5 for it at 90% off. Mine also had a lot of trees although they were in boxes without pictures and just had a typed description so I don't know if any of them are the ones I like or not. I asked a manager if He would let me look in the box to see which kind of "needle" they are and he said no. I just wanted to see if they were the garland/tinsel type or the molded plastic. I've been looking for one of the molded plastic type trees for a few years. Maybe they'll be more accommodating later in the week!
  13. I made a haul at our walmart (blackwell, ok) today. They had TONS of lights, wrapping paper, power stakes and extension cords. I loaded 2 carts full of stuff! DH checked out so I didn't realize until we were in the car but the cashier was manually overriding to do the 75% off even though they were ringing up 75% off. I ended up paying $52 for $1600 worth the stuff :) I didn't notice until DH said the lady had to manually enter the discount and I got scared that she had rang it up wrong. She did ring it up wrong, but I'm not complaining!
  14. Same in OK. You may want to check on Monday, that's my experience with HL. Mine is bad about having the 66% signs up when it's 80% off. Mine skips 75% and goes straight to 80%. Mine had a lot left today, I grabbed a staple gun for $5 that was labeled Christmas.
  15. I've had a little panic episode very year at around 2 am trying to get DH out of bed (we live in a tiny town so we're always the first at WM and pretty much everywhere else even tho we don't get there until 4). He always scares me into thinking he's not gonna get up and I'm going to be alone on bf Thankfully this year, the bar we go to on Friday nights is having a Thanksgiving bash with free beer so no more worrying about him staying in bed! We're going to go to the bar and stay til it closes, then head off shopping! No, we're not going to get drunk and drive all over town, just have a few post-family beers and then hang out in the warm bar until they kick us out! I'm excited that this may become our BF tradition :)
  16. I hit the jackpot at mine (and that never happens!) I went last night and got some decorations at 75% off but decided to go back today and get some costumes for my niece and nephew for Christmas. I got there pretty early and they were hanging 90% off signs on the costumes! I got 15 costumes for $23! They had almost everything left. I got all of the How to Train Your Dragon costumes for my nephew as well as the girl character for my niece and a whole load of Disney and generic fairy costumes. I even hit up the dog costumes and got pumpkin bandannas to donate to the Westie Rescue I volunteer for. I think the bandannas were .30 each. The decorations were still only 75% and they still had quite a few napkins and cookie decorating stuff! I bought a bunch of the green Wilton decorating sugar for .50 to use for Christmas. I'm not sure why it was 90% when the rest of the non-costume stuff was only 75% but I'm not going to complain! Our other store was still at 75% today and had a lot of stuff left (styrofoam plates and cups and even some good candy) so I'm going to go there first thing in the morning!
  17. I have a few things bought but my family waits until thanksgiving to put together christmas lists. Thankfully the last few years I got them to put the lists together while going through the bf ads! It makes it easy for me to buy on bf and know for sure that it's the exact thing they wanted. I'm also the official bf shopper in my family so everyone makes lists with what they want me to buy from which store and give me the cash. The first year I paid with their money and it was a hassle, I learned quick and now I check out for each person individually (so they can have receipts) but I just pay with my cc and then add up the receipts at home. It's fun doing everyone's shopping and occasionally on christmas I'll get something I actually bought! I just wish everyone would get lists together earlier. I usually snag the adults lists after the exchange and mark off what they got and use the remaining list as my clearance/deal shopping list for them all year.
  18. They do sound better than the cheaper ones but I had one of the lowriders break. The plastic piece that goes over the head snapped. I got a RMA and sent it back to them and got a new pair a few weeks later. Their warranty return is awesome. You have to pay to ship the item back but it was only a few dollars and they pay to ship you the replacement. You can even request a different color for the replacement. They don't guarantee you'll get the new color but they try.
  19. Thank you! I just ordered 9 set for $79! I got 2 of the big gaming headsets for my brother and sister, 2 of the little one ear headsets for DH and me, a headset for my xbox360, earbuds for my nieces and the macgyver watch for DH. I wish I had more people to buy headphones for!
  20. This is the 45 piece set but it has free shipping! Looks like the only pieces missing are the extra tablespoon and extra meat fork. http://www.amazon.com/International-Silver-45-Piece-Stainless-Flatware/dp/B001RD8EOS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1251409563&sr=8-2
  21. My first stop is usually walmart and I found that the smaller non-supercenter stores have a lot fewer people. I tried to get a laptop a few years ago when I got in line at midnight it was already too late. After we were done with everywhere else we went to the smaller walmart to pick up some more dvds and they still had the laptops. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the smaller stores aren't 24 hours so you would have to wait outside. Now I go to the small one first and I never have to show up more than 1 hour early to be at the front of the line. We can get in and out with everything on our list in under 30 minutes and then get to the other stores before they open.
  22. Buying for everyone else is my favorite part! Last year I didn't have a whole lot to buy and DH was trying to convince me that we didn't need to go so I asked the whole family after T-Day dinner and got a huge list. I had more fun last year since I got to go to all the stores I never go to!
  23. I'm looking for a nice point & shoot digital camera. I have a Nikon D300 which is wonderful but it's hard to lug it around to every family function. I want one I can carry in my purse! A new tv would also be really nice! I also always look for stuff for my Angel Tree kid. Usually dolls and legos.
  24. I used to go with my mom but now I go with DH and my mom and aunt hit different stores. DH doesn't really like going but he doesn't want his 5" tall wife going alone!
  25. We made walmart really mad when Twilight came out. We went to our local Hastings (movie, book and music store) to get twilight but they ran out so I took the ad to walmart since Hastings had the 2-disc set for 19.99. The lady in electronics was really mean about doing the price match and called 5 different people over before she would do it. While we were waiting for all of this, everyone who had been in line at Hastings showed up. The lady behind us asked if she could do the price match as well and they checker told her no in a very snotty way since she didn't have the ad in hand. I turned around and handed it to her and told her to pass it down the line when she was done. Everyone in line was cheering. I just get so mad when they act like your trying to steal something from them when you PM, use a coupon or try and return anything! If you don't want to do those things then you should work for a company that doesn't have those policies. I understand that some people take advantage of the system but does that make it right to treat me like a thief. I just needed to vent. Walmart has done so many crappy things to me! I also have the corporate number in my cell phone as well as the store phone number. I have used in many times, especially over coupons! They didn't want to take a coupon for free salad mix that I got from House Party since it was a "free" coupon and didn't have the amount off printed on it. I was only using one and they acted like I was trying to wipe the store clean! Last I knew, the stores got reimbursed by the manufacturer for the value of coupons. Ok, rant done, thanks for reading!
