Looking for long lasting DVD/VCR player

The cheap ones like at Walmart only last about a year. I want a good one that will last. Anyone know of good ones. I just need a long lasting one not looking for a cheap find. Thanks:)

i don't think combo DVD/VCR players last long in general. i know i had one that died and i had to operate on it when it ATE MY DVD!

I have a couple Go Video ones I got off eBay. One I've had for about 2 years and the other one I've had about 4-5 years. Each of the players have worked great!

 

My only problem is one of the remotes completely quit working a week ago The dvd player does not have enough buttons on the front of it to pick all the menu options on some of the movie menu screens... And my other remote the FF button quit working!?!? how annoying.

Wow, I was hoping that someone may have a dependable that they could recommend. I really HATE the idea of two different ones.

davephillyj...FWIW...I've had my Toshiba D-VR5SU VCR & DVD Video Recorder for almost 2 years now, & it has seen a great deal of use with both formats. It was a great deal at under $200 then......Maybe check out the Toshiba line now, and or check out Consumers ratings....

If you only need DVD/VCR 'play'.....I have to agree with freesia and your own conclusion that the cheaper ones are just that....another 'nearly-disposable' consumable!!!!
