afrey66 Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 I am so glad you said this! I feel the same way. The majority of people here are super nice, but it is awful to post a deal or read about one, that you think is good, only to have some ungrateful person slam it because...... "there is no coupon code", "what! no free shipping?", etc, etc, blah...blah...blah! People, if you don't think it is a deal move on...or try posting a good deal yourself. :gdyes:
mom2twoblessings Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Wow, people got banned for posting a suggestion to that thread? Even if it wasn't the most popular opinion they shouldn't have been banned. That's just not right....

That's just not right.... i don't think they were banned for that, at least i hope not. i THINK people get banned for making personal attacks.
Marcster Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 i don't think they were banned for that, at least i hope not. i THINK people get banned for making personal attacks.Precisely... Abuse of other Gottadealers is not tolerated, as per "the rules": http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=53669 People who just come here looking for a fight or to fling insults should expect to be banned, not complain about being banned...
Scanner420 Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 I usually post threads that get people talking. Sometimes the debates get bad enough, that the mods feel they have to close the threads, and sometimes, if I think they're getting out of hand, I'll ask a mod to close it and ask the ones who have issues with what I posted to PM me about it, where it usually gets resolved in one to two pms. Bottom line, for the most part, we're all adults here and we all have opinions on what a deal is to us. If I see something that's right for my family of 6 and post it, but joeblow69 only has a family of 2, it may not apply to him, big deal. If it doesn't apply to you, why don't you just move to the next thread instead of posting something negative, or just pm the OP your opinions.
vbamother Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 I belong to quite a few boards, but only post on maybe three. Gottadeal is my favorite and I try to visit it daily because it's so friendly. If I find a coupon, etc., I come straight here to post. We may have the occasional "thread crapper" but the majority of the posters here are very supportive and positive...that comes down to having great mods who discourage negativity, I believe.
Guest JustMeDiana Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 Okay my keys are stickinggggggg on my keyboard. Maybe it is just me, but in a lot of threads I have read lately, people just seem to be being downright mean. If you have an opinion about something, I think you can state it more nicely/politely- what have we done to you?. We all are on here looking for deals, and if you had a bad experience about something it is nice to know that, but you don't have to personally attack people if they like or don't like a product. It is getting to the point that I don't want to write anything (I have only had a couple of not nice sounding things I guess) but reading a lot of these have shown other people's comments being replied to very rudely also. Same hereeeeee. I think my thread has gone from a constructive group of people helping me and supporting me, to a fight sometimes because of a few people who feel the need to threaten and personally attack the other posters...and that saddens me. I think the moderators have done a great job in there (and i must admit that i never even thought to bring them in, but whoever did, thanks!). It's Ok to disagree with someone, but it's not ok to personally attack their views on a subject just because you do not share them, or to ask for a thread to be locked down...I think we're all on here to share and benefit from others wisdom and experiences, and I think it's a shame when a few people pick fights and ruin it for everyone else. hold on...i have an emoticon for this...Couldn't have said it better. + my : I have found that most people on here are very very friendly!! I try to make sure I keep my posts in a happy tone. You have to remember that you will always find that one person that seems to enjoy making other people feel bad about themselves. I like that I can come on here and people seem to be in a good mood most of the time. Me too. :yay: I am so glad you said this! I feel the same way. LOL. Here's Jen: If they're not nice, just keep yourself so busy shopping that you don't notice them and eventually they'll disappear! I do keep myself busy shopping for all the good deals and finding all the freebies. All I can say is, if I am one of the guilty parties, I apologize. I will learn to play nice. I'm not sure if I am guilty, I thought I took out most of my frustration on my husband...If I'm not one of the guilty parties, this message will self-distruct in ten seconds.I hope it's not me. I will play nice. : :gdenough: :gdenough: :gdenough: I will get off my Let's just all get along Ignore the Stop the Support each other Sit back and smell the Life is just to short : :)

rabx5 Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 Please remember that you can report posts you find offensive so that a Mod can take action as appropriate. If you don't know how to report a post, read this: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=47280 We strive to make GottaDeal a friendly community but we can't fix what we don't know about. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Thread-Related/Fight/cant-we.jpgIs this one of your kitties? Ripn Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 I often will delete what I've begun to type if it offers nothing helpful to the conversation.I have probably done THAT more than I have posted here. Of course, it may have something to do with the liquid refreshment I have had during the course of that evening...
