snakeswiff Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Love this store! Just discovered it right before the holidays! I got a pair of venus williams sneakers for $8.98....most comfortable sneakers I have had in a long while...and I work standing on my feet all day!!!! Thinking of going again tomorrow!
Promom Posted January 5, 2008 Author Posted January 5, 2008 Yep, 8.98 everything. Got son 2 paid of sneakers (much better than the 89.99 ones he wanted at the mall), Va Tech sweatshirt, 2 tshirts, Daughter strapless black velvet dress and blue jean jacket. Sweet!!
Stephy685 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 :: I just found the list of their 100+ stores that are closing on their website. The one in my area is not due to close. However, all of the locations are supossed to be participating in the "closing" sale prices. I was just wondering if anyone has been there lately? I'm mostly interested in the SJP line, for jackets/coats for the fall/winter season!!
cmattison Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 My store is closing and I went two days ago. The prices range from 5.98 - 8.98. The "closing special" was as follows: $3 off $25 purchase $8 off $50 $15 off $75 $25 off $100 I picked up 17 items for roughly $80.
sherril Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 heres a link to the stores that are closing.None are in my statehttp://www.steveandbarrys.com/storeclosure.aspx
pottsie66 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I'm so glad our local one isn't closing. I love this store!
mscrapper Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Ours is closing and BIL was there last weekend and said it was a MESS! Clothes all over the floor and everything. Not sure if we will venture in when we are in Kokomo or not.
irisbee Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I drove by ours yesterday and it said everything was $4.98 but I didn't actually stop.
happyrat Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 I drove by ours yesterday and it said everything was $4.98 but I didn't actually stop.No actually it doesn't if you read real carefully lol. Thats what I thought when I drove by the one in my area. The sign actually had in real big letters everything $4.98, and in small letters "and up." Can't see that till you've actually stopped.
justjessie99 Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 Don't rely on that list.... Mine is listed as open...however we drove past it today and it says store closing.... go figure???HUH?. We are going tomorrow to see what is left.
bugsette Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 went to mine today they are 5.98 and they had tons of things left. I did pick up 2 Notre DAme jackets medium weight wind breakers..... one sales clerk tole me they would probably be at 4.98 in about 6-8 days
Promom Posted October 25, 2008 Author Posted October 25, 2008 ANybody know if the one at Potomac Mall is still open?
ilalynch Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Those closed a lot of these stores around me. I am going to see if I can find one close because I need basketball shoes for my 8 year old son.
heatherbade Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 i bought 3 hats, 8 skirts and a shirt for $16. Nice deal!
Tracy72 Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 our are closing around us....this is their last week opened...I went go 35 items Weds....I cant believe how people just threw all the clothes around in there...all over the floor....it was a mess.....
theboyzmom Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 I went this weekend...store was a crazy mess...no associates to help I bought a jacket for my grandpa...size collar on the hanger said XL...guess I should have checked the inside of the coat, but I was tired and frustrated and didn't....well, coat was NOT an XL and I cant exchange it...store is about 20 minutes away from me, which isn't terrible, but there is NOTHING else nearby that I need to go there for...I hate that I am going to have to repurchase this coat and now have a coat that I can't give to anyone (money is so tight right now that I don't know if I can even afford to spend the gas to go there and back just for one item) soooo frustraiting....
tobal2 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 The store in Greenville, SC was almost cleaned out, but what was left was strewn all over the place. Looks like they took the popular technique of raising the prices so they could run everything 30-40% off. For example, a Navy hooded sweatshirt we bought a few months ago for $8.99 (regular price) is now $13.99 and 30% off. It's a shame they're closing though - they had the best fitting jeans for our son.....
diane175 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I don't know how true this is but we went to ours here in Carbondale and I asked the clerk why the signs no longer said that they were staying open. He said it was because the whole company went bankrupt and they are closing all the stores. He said they would try to stay open til the end of the year but he wasn't sure if they could. Just thought I would pass that info on to everyone! :)
