DLM
I need to exhange my daughters Ipod for a different color/upgraded model. What stores will do this easily? I will be spending at least $50 more. The store I got it from doesn't have the color she wants? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

amberleigh2
My son loves the exchange policy at Best Buy. I would try there.I bought a sd memory card @ Best Buy , I got a great deal on it & was just saving it til I needed to use it, well anyways I bought a new camera that needed xd so I went w/out a receipt to see if I could return/exchange it ( it was still new in pckg), they wanted a receipt but told me they could look it up on the computer, when they did it was like 2-3 days past their policy & would'nt do anything for me!! No big deal I got a good deal on it but from that experience I would say w/out a receipt they won't help you!! I think Walmart might be the best place too!! Goodluck:)

DLM
It looks like Walmart has it in stock. I just get nervous doing this and didn't know if they could tell it didn't come from there or what? I got her the silver 4 gb and then she updated her Christmas list and said she wanted the green 8gb. At first I was just going to leave it as is but decided it might be worth finding the extra $50 to make her Christmas. I just don't want a hassle at the store and looking like I am trying to pull one over on them.

They might act irritated but who wouldn't at this time of the year at Walmart Customer Service. And I *THINK* you can only return items without reciepts there 3x in a certain amount of time, they keep track by computer..Maybe someone can clear up the exact details. I am a receipt FREAK I keep all receipts until they fade and you cannot read the writing anymore lol :)
Steakgoddess
Where did you buy it? A lot of stores have the look up thing and then you can just return it. Go to the other store and buy the item you really want.
wallydiver
Hi, I am a newbie to this site and love it. As for the returning the Ipod to Walmart without the receipt, you have 15 days to do this with the receipt, for all MP3 players. I just purchased some Zunes at Walmart this past weekend and noticed this little disclaimer at the bottom of the receipt. It state verbatim: Digital Music Players may be returned for refund or exchange with receipt WITHIN 15 DAYS. So don't get pissed when they tell you to take a hike. AndreaInNC
If you can wait until after the holidays, Best Buy will take back virtually anything that they sell in their store without a receipt.
DLM
Knowing my daughter, she will be disappointed if she can't 'play' with it on Christmas. I think I will give it a try this weekend. All they can say is no I guess!? If I get too much grief I will wait.
guilliam
I tried to exchange an item at Walmart (I did buy it there, but lost the receipt) and was told that they no longer accept returns or exchanges for items over $50 without a receipt. Good Luck :)
iluvdeals
I returned a couple of small priced items at WM yesterday. CS told me that they heard a rumor that at the beginning of the year, WM would no longer accept any returns or exchanges without a receipt, so be sure to keep receipts. I'm not sure if this is true or just a frustrated CS trying to scare people into keeping their receipts. So if you have anything to return to WM without a receipt, do so soon. So if you have anything to return to WM without a receipt, do so soon.It seems to be store specific with Walmart. The one closest to me will not accept any returns without a receipt. The one 10 minutes away will take receipts but limits how many within a 45 day period.

So if you have anything to return to WM without a receipt, do so soon.I think that will happen soon. I have butted heads with my Wal-Mart about their 90 day policy. I told them they didn't have a date printed on their receipt so how was someone supposed to know there was a time limit? The items I was returning were brand new and unopened. The lady at CS just said management was getting very strict about returns.
