d2p Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Just drove past the EastTowne (Madison WI) area at 8:30 to see how the lines were. Best Buy had about 35 people, Circuit CIty about 12, and npone at Target, OfficeMax or Office Depot. Temp is 25 degrees.
ctnhd Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 I drove bye the Richmond, VA best buy and circuit city at 8:30 and the line was around the building at best buy and about 15 at cc. This is the chesterfield location. I think it is around 65 degrees.
Artrageous Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 My wife, her mom and sister went to get online at Circuit City at 10:30 and there was already 30 people ahead of them. Last year they were first in line when they arrived at 10:30.
DesiDoLL88 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 I counted 18 at CC. There must have been nearly 40 people at BB, though.
scarface Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Does target have lines? I never shopped their bf on blackfriday, only bb and i don't know when their lines start and I plan on going there to get the 37'' olevia.
boucher0911 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Drove by BB at about 8:00 tonight and there were already about 20 people and a few police cars by the entrance! And this is at a smaller volume store than most!
222deal Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Thanks for saving me the trip. I was debating on heading out myself but if its this long a line at Best Buy the night before, I'll pass on getting involved this year. I drove bye the Richmond, VA best buy and circuit city at 8:30 and the line was around the building at best buy and about 15 at cc. This is the chesterfield location. I think it is around 65 degrees.
cd_stl Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Our best buy had 10 people at 10:30 this morning when I drove buy on my way to dinner and was lined up around the building at 6:30 as I drove home. Its going to be 22 degrees tonight-I'm going to bed!
spwalkhen Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 any word on Toysrus? was figuring on getting there around 3...it's going to be in the 30's with 10-20mph winds:(
Brad Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Here's a reconnaissance photo taken minutes ago by our very own BF forum mod Aaron. This is at a Wal-Mart and the guy on the right is "guarding" the BF goods, lol.
Marcster Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 As of 8 pm, in Allentown, PA, there was 30 people in line for CC (3 in a huge tent) and easily 150+ in line at Best Buy (lots of tents at BB). Tonight's lows will be in the 40s (45 right now) and a WICKED wind! http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Weather/28_2_2.gif
squeak6 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 I'm in vero beach, fl ( I live in miami,fl ~ had to get outside of my inlaws house ) I'm #11 of about 125 people at the best buy store..... my wife just came and is #4 at target 6 stores down..
keithb Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 we are not camping out... maybe that is stupid. this is our first year going out on BF. we are leaving around 4 AM and hopefully going to hit toys r us, target and belk any advice? :)
shadowdancer Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 my wife who frequents these forums has been 8th in line at Best Buy in Kennesaw, Ga. since 4pm. I just spoke to her and she said that there's about 100 people camping in line. And it's about 35 degrees outside with windchill. ugh. the things we do for our kids lol...
slinkster65 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Yeah, the Kennesaw store will get packed. I might stop in there tomorrow late morning to see if there are any DVDs left. No way was I gonna camp there with friends being home from college and stuff. Especially sicne there wasn't much that was just eye popping.
jephilip Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 There were about 50 in line and a TV crew at the Tenleytown Best Buy in DC around 10:45. It is in the mid 40s and the wind has finally begun to die down.
DarknessAlive Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 I just got a text update from my husband (who is currently 10th in line at CompUSA - been there for about an hour or so). At CompUSA there are less than 20 people in line. We drove around there at 6pm and there were 15, but some or all of those must have went into the 9-12 sale. The line for the Best Buy is wrapped around the building! This is in the Robinson area of Pittsburgh.
Demontooth Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Good luck everyone, I'm going to go to bed and leave the 20 degree temperatures for the people who are way more brave than I am.
elena_398 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Well, Im off of here. Leaving in an hour or so. SUPER cold here in Ohio. Wind is absolutely wicked. Oh joy. HOpe you all stay warm (or try too!). Im just thankful that I don't have to go to BB or CC. Haha.
mommy2bugs Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 MIL is #11 in Best Buy line right now. She got in line around 1 or 2 this afternoon.
kyatt Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 I left the Compusa in Baton Rouge. LA about 30 minutes ago, and the line was still wrapped along the side of the building. They started letting people in around 8:40ish, and are letting them in a group at a time. Midnight may come and go and some of those people may not get in!! There were quite a few people at best buy, but they were all huddled up on the ground and the line of shopping carts obscured my view.
jgeaux Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 baton rouge...BB has around 200+, dh said. He's #4. It's in the 30's tonight with high winds. Some people hardly brought anything for warmth. One man I watched dropped his teenage boy off with a hoodie, shorts, about 4 candy bars at noon today!!! He's going to have a rough night!
Brad Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 if anyone has a camera phone that can e-mail pictures, take some and send them to bfpics (at) olsonnet (dot) com and i'll post them in this thread for you :)
cola1016 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Can someone tell me why there's so many people that go to Best Buy? I didn't think their sales were that great...did I miss anything?
tootsieroll23 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Went by our Best Buy at 9:30 and there were already 15-20 tents set up and people lined up behind the tents. Target had about 6 people. Staples had a couple of tents and about four other people. Not sure if we will even be going out now.
cola1016 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Ok just had to add that I just seen some youtube videos of black fridays of past.....MAN I'll never do that...you people are brave lol.
stockmanjr Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Just passed by the Circuit city at union square in Manhattan there were easily 30+ people online there as of 2230. Anyone who comes now will most likely not even have a chance at any of the big doorbuster items which is kind of scary!
dedykong808 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 2 people in line CC HONOLULU HAWAII 7pm
