Has anyone had this experience?
It takes on average 2-3 hours to check out of this place and maybe even more.
Okay yes I know the average time at any store is around that but CC is the worse. Why you ask well here goes...
1) Receipts, receipts and more receipts. If you buy 5 items and each has a rebate you need to wait until they print out 6 f'n receipts. No not the tiny little ones we need the 2 feet long ones that take forever to print out.
2) Horrible employees. Yeah those who have no clue how to check out. A normal check out may take 2-3 minutes (I will even go as high as 5-6 on BF) but you got these newbies who can't add or figure anything out who take 15 minutes and hold up the line.
3) Horrible organization. You have Best Buy who is smart...1 line that feeds into 6 others and you go to the next available line. Also special lines for cameras, etc, etc and nobody else is allowed in. CC just the opposite...20 lines never moving and you get lucky on the pick. Of course you can go in anyline not just the special ones.
Any other thoughts? Yeah I will still go but is it worth all of that trouble...and they keep you there forever and you miss out on other deals.
I think thats a stretch.

I Never even walked in the Door at my CC they still had a line to get into the store at 8:am
There was a line at my Saugus, MA Circuit City too. I had to get it in though and then wait 1.5-2 hrs to check out for a computer.

It's almost as though the employees at my CC (Buford, GA) came in to work not realizing that it was BF. There appeared no be no plan, at least not one that had been thought out by someone with a full set of frontal lobes. I got there at 12:30 am and got my voucher around 4:30 am; they opened the store at 5:00 am, and it was after 9:00 am before I was able to leave with my computer. There was a period of about 45 minutes at one point during which the voucher-redemption line didn't move at all. Several of us had numerous conversations with the employees and managers, some of whom apologized (with varying degrees of apparent sincerity), others of whom openly expressed their lack of concern, and all of whom seemed completely mystified as (1) how to make the line move and (2) why those of us in the non-moving line were so dissatisfied. They had one guy working the register for the voucher-redemption line, and, in some cases, he took 20-30 minutes and more ringing up particular transactions. Meanwhile, there were persistently several 3-4 member groups of employees standing around throughout the store bellyaching about their jobs and lamenting the plights of those that had to come in to work later in the day. All of that for a so-so deal on a computer! By way of comparison, I showed up at Walmart at a quarter to 5:00 am that same morning (after I had gotten my voucher from CC), walked straight to the electronics department, stood beside the register (where they had all the door-buster electronics stacked up and ready for distribution), selected my computer, swiped my card, and - no exaggeration - was back in my car, on I-85, heading back to CC by a quarter past 5:00 am. The employees at Walmart seemed more friendly and knowledgeable, too. Imagine that - customer service and efficiency/organization that reeks so badly that Walmart's begins looking good by comparison - that's CC (and I haven't even mentioned the part about how, as late as 6:30 am, CC still had a line that was 30 minutes long just to get into the store b/c they would only allow the next person in line to go in after somebody else had come out - and lest they say it was just because of the volume of people, I'll point out that the BB across the street had at least as many people, if not more, and there was no line to get into the store).
I was at the same Circuit City yesterday. I got there a few minutes after 4am and the line was to the back of the building. So they opened, I grabbed my stuff (all non-voucher items) and headed for the checkout. The checkout line wasn't that long, but it took my like 40 minutes to checkout because they had only two registers open up front! Their excuse was the other ones weren't working and had to be fixed...hello..shouldn't that been done before BF?? Anyways I got what I wanted so I can't complain too much. When I left which was after 6am there was still a long line to get into the store that stretched halfway up the side of the building.
