taegan
So, I'm looking for Santa gift ideas for my 3 yr old daughter that won't harm her. Each new recall narrows my choices. I think I'm just going to redo her bedroom - new "big girl" bed, comforter, sheets, matching decorations. She'll probably be mad at Santa until next year. Anyone else as paranoid as I am? shopping mom
I would look at little tyke toys if you are concerned about safty. They have some cute toys so maybe Santa won't be in trouble. I ordered my four year old a MyTwinn doll and got some doll furniture for the babies she already has. Puzzles. 2 books, 2 games and some clothes and she is done (except I like the doll at Sears) Petshop stuff from one set of grandparents and I do not know the rest yet. Bunniq
I have 3 nephews and I hope I have been extra careful when picking out toys for them. I do have to admit they are getting far less toys from me this year than last year. I have been getting books and board games for them mostly. I think I will take follow Shopping Mom's lead and get a few puzzles. I had a ball with the board games and books when Amazon.com had their deal. Penelope
My daughter got a doll stroller from Santa last year when she was 2 1/2 that she loves. I got her the matching carseat and bassinet (all from Toys R Us). She loves them. She also loves books, and coloring books. She likes painting, so a paint set would be nice. (We use watercolor paints on her ugly coloring book pages that she normally wouldn't touch). She also likes the game Hi Ho Cherry-O. If you are redecorating her room, a kid jewelry box would be nice. My girls have them (one if flowers, and the other is princess), and they love putting their necklaces and treasures in them. Kohls and JC Penney's usually carry really cute ones. kren
Taegan, yes, I'm also paranoid. Do you know about this site -- it's GREAT: www.chinafreechristmas.info.
samisma
i'm avoiding FP like the plague. Little Tikes sent out an awesome email that listed all of their made in America toys. I will try to find it and post up a link. Pretty much her toys are Little Tikes or home made. For example I made a beanbag animal chair and I'm working on a chaise lounge kids chair. Also made a teddy bear, a raggedy ann & andy. For younger kids (like my dd) I think stuffed animals and things of that nature are great. The chairs I'm making are her big girl chairs. One is for the 'game room' (isn't every room int he house a gameroom?) and the other is big enough for her, but small enough to take with us for family dinners at the relatives house. Sorry. long post. I would also check out Melissa & Doug products if you haven't yet!
kren
Every Melissa & Doug item I have checked is made in China. I was quite disappointed to see that. They might be wood, and not plastic, but they're no safer.
