hpowers Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Our Wal-Mart had OxiBall's marked down to $7.00 for the refill. Our local Ace Hardware had the starter kits for $5.00 last week. I guess no one has been buying them.
comm402 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 I had gotten one free with the coupon and was not impressed. They cannot be used with bleach and are not recommended for anything treated with flame retardant. So much for the commercial's claim that "its the only thing you'll need". I'll stick with my Tide.
klastar Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 I got a free one too and did not like it. My husbands work clothes were no where as clean as when I used my regular brand (Tide) and the Oxi clean booster.
dmmiller Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 I got a freebie also .. and wasnt too impressed by it. I like to smell the detergent in clean clothes, thats how I guarantee its clean.. ya know? This didnt have any smell at all, so I was unsure how well it worked.
tokanm Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Add my name to the lost of the unimpressed, clothes just didn't look as clean to me. However it is still sitting on my laundry room shelf just for emergencies when we run out of Gain or Tide:p PS Glad I got it for free too!
swtp6 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 I did see them on clearance at kroger for $5.00
kselzer Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Target had them on clearance also, I think they were around $5.
andylee1 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 I was not thrilled with this product SO instead of putting it into my washer I use it to get stains out before i put things in the washer and it works really good. takes the stains right out.:)
amyers12345 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 I really like ours, but I keep 2 in at a time. I have noticed though, that sometimes DH's shirts smell sweaty when they come out of the washer. Which is odd, because he doesn't smell like that. It's almost like they magnify the smell. Our Walmart has them four around $5 now, too, on a full endcap.
harperjn Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 I read in consumer reports that the oxiballs are terrible. They ranked them as one of the worst for cleaning. Interestingly enough, they said Walmart's Great Value brand detergent performed well and was very cheap. I can't find it in any Walmart by me, though.
scrapwave Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 I haven't found the Oxiballs at any local stores. I did find them at Target 80 miles away and got one just to try it...not that terribly impressed...clothes do seem to smell funny sometimes.
my2kidsmom Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 clothes do seem to smell funny sometimes.Maybe that's why I thought I needed something in my dresser to freshen the drawers. I thought the wood was making my clothes stink and I asked for scented drawer liners for my birthday. I've been using my oxiball and detergent at the same time. I didn't think my clothes were getting clean.
