  1. The Nikon is a great camera. A bit of advise I got a few years ago when I got my first DSLR is to skip the kit lens, but with the deal on this bundle, you might as well get it. Image quality has a lot to do with the quality of the lens you use. She will probably want to invest in better lenses at some point especially if she is shooting models and headshots. She will also want to learn lighting and editing. I've been at it for 2 1/2 years and started knowing nothing. You can see my work here: www,pamfieldsphotography.com It's an expensive hobby to get started with but, if you are good and figure out the marketing/business side of things, you can make pretty decent money, but photographers are a dime a dozen so you have to really build your skills and hustle.
  2. We get Seventeen. I think they do a great job with promoting a healthy body image. My DD is 12 so I am careful to pre-read and edit (tear out) inappropriate articles....you know...like "how to be a hot kisser" and other articles of a similar nature. Everything else gets a thumbs up!
  3. I've seen alot of deals lately on having photos put on canvas. Has anyone ordered from any of the companies out there? What you you experience? Were you satisfied with the product? Thanks!
  4. Any advise on getting this? By daughter really wants a Wii rock band game with the equipment.
  5. Nutella and Banana Treats 1 sheet frozen puff pastry 9 teaspoons Nutella 9 banana slices * Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F * Allow puff pastry to rest, covered, at room temp for approximately 20 minutes * Cut puff pastry into 9 squares and place on lined or well-greased cookie-sheet * Place one teaspoon of Nutella in the middle of each square (the easiest way to do this is to use two small spoons (flatware, not measuring spoons) and use one to scoop Nutella from the jar, the other to scrape it onto the pastry). * Place one banana slice onto each blob of Nutella * Fold each corner of the pastry up and press the corners gently together to create a purse. * Bake for approx. 20 minutes or until golden brown and puffy. Butterfinger Cake 1 yellow cake mix 1 carton of cool whip 1 king size Butterfinger 1 can of sweetened condensed milk Bake cake according to directions. Leave in pan when done. Use the end of a wooden spoon (or other similar shaped object) to push holes into the cake at regular spaces. Pour can of sweetened condensed milk over the top of the cake and into holes. Top with cool whip. Crush or chop candy bar and sprinkle over the top of the cake. Refrigerate for several hours at least (to let the milk seep into the cake better.) Enjoy!
  6. Thanks! I was able to contact them and got a price adjustment! :)
  7. I have to have a King size bedspread (not comforter) so it will be wide enough to cover my thick mattress down to the bed rails. I have been looking for a new bedspread for a couple of years. Most look like a hotel room or grandma's house. I've been looking at this one for a while and when I saw the price, I ordered it! http://www.sears.com/shc/s/search_10153_12605?keyword=verona+bedspread+mini+set&x=0&y=0&vName= http://s.sears.com/is/image/Sears/096C6273000?hei=248&wid=248&op_sharpen=1&qlt=90,0&op_usm=0.9,0.5,0,0
  8. I've eatten at Ruth's Chris 3 x's in my live. Those filets are the best thing I've ever taste. They melt in your mouth.
  9. We have a Wii (which broke and quit reading the discs after 2 1/2 years). We are getting another one for Christmas. We use rechargeable batteries on our wiimotes. We have 4 wiimotes. It's fun for the 2 kids and dh and myself to play games together. You can use any type of rechargeable battiers that are AA. We have a couple of extra sets so when the ones in the wiimote run out, we have fresh ones handy. We have 2 sets of 15 min. batteries, like these: http://www.amazon.com/Rayovac-Minute-Rechargeable-Batteries-batteries/dp/B0000A1OFV/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1260136550&sr=8-1 I just use a regular batteries on the balance board. They last a pretty long time in the balance board. I wonder about getting a charge station or an induction charger where you just lay the remote on it and it charges. I'm curious if anyone other there can add feedback about either of these.
  10. so glad I saw this! Got it...now I don't have to feel bad about not getting one at Walmart!
  11. LOL...we wrap the gifts from us to our children and other family members (grandparents, nephews, nieces, etc.) and put them under the tree during the weeks and days leading up to Christmas. On Christmas Eve...some time in the middle of the night, Santa comes and leaves each person (on the nice list) a little pile of presents that are unwrapped. We figure he's too tired to wrap our presents after all those deliveries. On Christmas morning, we get up and see what Santa left in our pile and then open our presents to and from each other. Then, we see what Santa left us in our stockings and have a big breakfast.
  12. I wonder how this is for everyone else. I wonder if there is any "norm" based on geographic region. Here in the South, our gifts from Santa are unwrapped.
  13. thanks! guess I'll have to print it out and make a trip to Target!
  14. I can't find the coupon the website. Is there a link?
  15. Great! I went ahead and ordered one and will be returning the one I got from Target.
  16. Other than the Best Buy deal ($20 gift card), are there any other deals out there on the console.
  17. Do you think this is better than the one Target had on the Black Friday sale? It was the Poloroid. I got it for my dd, 11. I'll take it back and get this one for the same price if it's better.
  18. Payed with Discover and got 10.00 off so you can get it for 87!
  19. It's a GREAT deal and I love my Vizio. It's about 3 years old and has been through 3 moves. Still works great!
  20. all gone I had mine in my cart and by the time I got my new address in there, the price went back up! Oh well, there's always the line at Walmart!
  21. do you think this would be appropriate for a 7 1/2 year old that is just starting martial arts?
  22. that Radica video journal is a piece of junk no matter how cheap it is. IMHO
