AMYpw Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 I am getting money for Christmas. I'm picky and thought hey .... I might as well take advantage of the sales after christmas and get what I want. So when is the best time / month to buy after christmas for clothes etc? Is January the time when most stores have given up on selling all the stuff that didn't sell at Christmas they thought that would? Or is it really sparadic (hmmm I'm sure that's not how you spell that word LOL) depending on each store?
RossMAN Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Hi Amy, I think it varies between stores and what inventory they have. In my experience it's 2 weeks after Christmas.
freesia39 Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 JANUARY. major sales usually last that month. at least last year, i hit the outlets hard in january, and then again in feb or march, when they're clearing out the winter season items and trying to make way for spring.
RossMAN Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Cindy, I did something similiar at a retail Eddie Bauer store last September. We got some amazing deals on summer clearance clothes. One of my favorites was an Eddie Bauer windbreaker jacket for $9.99 (retail $39.99). Next year I have to remember to visit Eddie Bauer around September, if they're still in business.
newgirl Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 I agree. My mom and I have a standing shopping date on January 3rd because we always find amazing deals and great sales. Good luck! ~Rebecca
RossMAN Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Rebecca, what stores do you usually visit for after Christmas sales?
motoXmom Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Oh I love shopping after Christmas, you can find some amazing deals! I'm just usually low on funds by then! I always say next year I'm going to put a little more aside and go shopping after the Holidays. I still go and get nice stuff but not as much as I would like!! LOL
gitmogecko Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 I would say if you see it and want it, you might want to buy it then......it might not be there when you go to get it the next time. Just never know after Christmas!
Rebirth Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 I like double sales. Clothes are already on sale, and you have a coupon for the clothes. It's like almost free. lol
AMYpw Posted December 22, 2004 Author Posted December 22, 2004 January it is then!!! I can't wait. I just got Bath and Body Works Smi Annual Sale. I love when they do this as well. LOTS of stuff 75% off and their soaps for only a $1.00.
RossMAN Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 What is double sales?Hi Amy, No stores have "double sales" it's more like a term. Let's say Payless shoes has a sale 25% off, but you also have a 10% off coupon ... that would be considered a "double sale". Store sale price + coupon = double sale. Hope that helps.
Rebirth Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 What is double sales? It's not really a double sale. Ex.) Clothes that are 30% off in the store. And you have a 20% coupon. So, you have a double discount. Keep in mind, it's 20% off the price that is already marked down. It's not 50% off.
soleglo Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 Another good deal, is when you go back to some stores (Target, Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy etc) within the 14 days of initial purchases and are able to receive a price adjustment becuz an item you bought has been reduced again.
Guest DigDoug Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Ehhh..... I wish I knew when all the good deals were happening. I stopped in Value City for my first time ever. Generally, it seems to be a store full of crap. I did get a nice Nike winter coat for $24. Regular price - $100. I thought that was a good deal.
