lowmerc1 Posted October 26, 2007 Share Posted October 26, 2007 I posted yesterday...not sure where my post went...think maybe I did a closed thread...anyway, Yesterday in Washington, My Target had the 75% off towels...nice heavy bath towels 1.24 each, hand towels .94 each, and washcloths .78 each I did very well, they were in a strange aisle, but also had some hand/wash on a endcap by the clearance towels... I stocked up for Xmas prezzies. Didn't really se too much in the toy dept...mainly the housewares section and gift bags etc... Sorry to get this to you a day late, but hope it helps! But I went last week and they were still there, marked down to 75% and I bought them.Good to know! I hid an iron that was clearanced at 30% and when I went back, it was still there and at 50%, so I decided to take a chance and see if it would go to 75%. When I first checked online it was showing limited availability and then another day later it was OOS. I guess I'll have to make sure it's really gone. My stores are about 6 weeks behind everyone else on the clearance stuff - so when everyone was talking about the Harry Potter legos a while back, I went to my store and they were still full price $89.xx. There were about 12 of them on the shelf, so I moved one down a little bit and mixed it in with the Star Wars ones. Yesterday (since I know that toys get marked down on Wednesday) I went to check on these. There were still 8 of them on the shelf, but they were still $68.xx. No markdown yet. This morning I was there at 8:00 when the doors opened and there were NONE!!! How could this be? I was there last night when they closed and there 8 of them. Soooo - I took mine out from the Star Wars sets, price checked it and sure enough ... $22.48! I took it to the register and the cashier looked at me with this awful look on her face and said, "Where did you find this?" I just sort of giggled and said I had been watching it for months. She said that she had rang up 8 of them already this morning for the employees and they had told her there weren't any more! Oh well... YES I LOVE IT WHEN THE CUSTOMER WINS!!! A good place is in the tent aisle there is a display picture above the tents and I put it right up against the back and it was still there. I know someone who works in CS and I am praying she will give me a price adjustment. I also found today the Lego Exoforce 8107 for 12.87 marked from $50. Darn the luck.I have actually seen people lift the lowest shelf and hide things under it! To me hiding behind other merchandise is reasonable. But doing that is tantamount to stealing since no one would reasonably look there. I know some Hot Wheels guys who do it regularly. I just leave the aisle. Yesterday, the target site said they were available and today it said there were none, so I figured someone either found the stash or they marked down they were set to do a markdown, saw none on the shelf and just updated the site. Either way, the suspense was killing me so I dragged the kids out in the rain to check. I walked up and down the aisle trying to recognize the toy I hid it behind and I actually saw it. I was sure the FBI would be behind me or something but I was in the clear. Now I get the cool aunt points for sure. Thanks to all who posted sightings.
