syamnew Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Does anyone know much about what goes on sale day after christmas, and which stores are good to shop at? Thanks Syam
theboyzmom Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 just about everything goes on sale so they can clear their inventories out before the year ends for tax purposes Target is always the best for clearance prices
dyjama Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 target is good. Also half off ornaments at hallmark
u4eagirl2000 Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 bath and body works is going to have a big sale I believe starting the 27th!
comm402 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Kohl's !!! Our Kohl's has the pre-christmas 50% off and about 2 days after they mark everything down to 75% off including Hallmark ornaments. Well worth it if your looking for things to decorate for next year.
elena_398 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I start at Walmart. ALL christmas items are 50% off. I buy the cologne and perfume sets to put away for gifts. Also buy my paper/tags/etc for next year.
Tracy72 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I wont get to do the day after but I will go on the 28th...so I hope htey are really marked wayyyy down..lol
jackieutah Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Target has great clearance prices the day after.. I always go there. Is there any other great places to go before I hit walmart? Thanks Jackie
love2beurwifey Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I go to Wal Mart, Target, Kohl's and Dollar Tree.
mike7311 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Homedepot and Lowes have 75% off all of their Christmas stuff. It's little known so I always cash in...
comm402 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Not to get off topic here but has anyone noticed that more and more stores are having before christmas sales? I was looking through the Sunday ads and noticed that Kohl's, Rag Shop, Michael's, AC Moore, Boscov's and a few others all have 50%-75% off their christmas merchandise. Kinda takes the fun out of the day after shopping. Not to mention that with the gifts to buy I really don't have much left to take advantage of those sales anyway.
Guest RealLivePrinces Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 FYI. Kohl's will open at 6am the day after Christmas. New clearance (and the vast majority of most departments) will begin appearing 12/27.
tdanette Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Does anyone know who does the best online clearance sales?
meyou Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 big lots has there stuff at 50% off already as well as lowes and home depot
mike7311 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 The After Christmas sales are always better than the before Christmas Clearances because the stores hold back to make as much profit as they can before unloading remaining inventory... Example: the starting prices are artifically high then marked down to make it appear as if your saving more. This calculation works best 50% off is actually 25% and 75% off is actually 50% off. Shopping Veterans know what things went for in previous years and I have to tell you things are not priced 50% off.
sunnysky24 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 My best advice is Walmart for gift tags, wrapping paper, ornaments etc. I also love khols as everything that is christmassy is about 75% off!! I love to go shopping the day after christmas it has become a big tradition just like black friday shopping with my cousins and aunts.
elena_398 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 I always go to Walmart the day after christmas...But I don't go till 8am or so. Does anyone know when the 50% off price kicks in. I have 2 24 hour Walmart stores around me. Seems the particular perfume gift sets and cologne sets I really want are already gone or in someones cart. I want to get there when the 50% just kicks in to get the first dibs on the sets. Thanks for any info
bugsette Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 If you have a Hickory Farm Kios in the mall.... go there ont he 26th
shelleyj Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 If you have a Hickory Farm Kios in the mall.... go there ont he 26thOH! TFS that tip. I didn't even think of going there!
bellastarr Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Bath and Body Works are going to have a great sale Dec. 27. Wallflowers and refills $5. Also $1. glycerin soaps, $2 lip products, $4 jumbo anti-bacterial soap refills, $5 classic fragrace and up to 75% off select products. $3 signature coll. shower gels
elena_398 Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 WHAT time 12/26 does Walmart's 50% off all christmas start? I never go early enough and all the really good cologne and perfume sets are gone. I have 2 24 hour Walmarts so not sure what time I should go. Want to be one of the firsts to stock up!
aerosmithgirl Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I think they reopen at 6. At least that's when my 24-hour WM's reopen. Yes, I am usually there for the cologne sets as well. Can't beat $9-$12 tommy, cool water or curve sets!!
blueanxiety Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 As someone else mentioned, the stores in the mall have great after-Christmas day sales. Although inventory is a reason why they mark down their items, I also think it has to do with returns. Most of the time if someone returns without a receipt they get the lowest sale price for it. Well if someone originally got something for $20 before Christmas but they lost the receipt, when they come to return it after Christmas it's marked down to $10. The store makes a $10 profit still, regardless. Also I don't know when it's supposed to start, but the Victoria's Secret Semi-annual sale is supposed to start soon, anyone know when?

Can't beat $9-$12 tommy, cool water or curve sets!!Thanks. I had went the last couple of years at 8am or so and it seems ALL the really good scents are gone. I love Curve for my husband and son. I want a few perfume sets for myself too. My one Walmart is stocked full of them so want to get them as soon as the 50% starts. Great gifts to put away
preacherswife2 Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Try your local drug stores for great deals on the sets like Curves, and they seem to be less picked over as soon as the larger stores. I know Walgreens and CVS both go to 50% off the day after Christmas, sometimes before.
verbal8 Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 This might be a little off-topic, but do the electronics stores have after christmas sales? I am looking for a laptop. The Microcenter laptop is a great deal, but I really want one with firewire. If there are not any better deals, I might buy it and save up for an Apple.

Josher5513 Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I've never really participated in the Day after Christmas shopping (except to return/exchange things), but from what I've learned, there are alot of great sales... Does anyone know if stores will send out specific ads for the day after X-mas, or will it just be 'show up and find out'? Thanks!
