saucywench
Although Id have to say A Christmas Story is my all time fav. Christmas movie, have you ever seen Emmet Otters Jug Band Christmas? for some reason they havent run that on tv (that ive seen) in years but, it was a favorite growing up.its a Jim Henson directed movie with muppet type characters...Synopsis--Featuring a heart-warming story, the trademark Jim Henson wit, and beautiful songs, Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas originally aired as an HBO special. The story is a spin on the classic "Gift of the Magi," with the impoverished Emmet and his Ma each making a sacrifice in the hopes that it will help them win the yearly talent show, and enough money to buy the other a Christmas gift. Purists, take note: For reasons that remain unclear, the VHS and DVD releases of Emmet Otter contain minor but noticible edits compared to the 1977 HBO version. ~ All Movie Guide. im a big kid at heart especially this time of year may or may not be your type of movie but its a bit different than the norm nowadays.. EDIT: I was watching one of the Showtime Channels today and (I never knew this) but theres a sequel they were showing to A Christmas Story called It Runs In The Family .. Plot Summary for It Runs in the Family (1994) It is now summer in the Parker family; and the usual amount of numerous events are happening in their separate lives. Ralphie is searching for the perfect top to use to beat the school bully with, the Old Man is in battle with their hillbilly neighbors, the Bumpus, while eagerly awaiting the discovery of the perfect fishing spot, and the Mother is attempting to collect all of the pieces of a glass china set at a local movie theater. Also called A Summer Story..just thought id throw that in there for all the Christmas Story fans..(not as good)
btvsfreak
My all time favorite movie, not just holiday movie but of every movie I've ever seen is "It's A Wonderful Life", I absolutely love this movie. I don't know if you have that one already but if not you should definitly add this one to your collection. It never fails to bring the cry lump to my throat and make me so thankful for what i have. Also i would recommend "The Santa Clause". I adore this movie, its funny and sweet and just good family entertainment. Happy viewing.
kmbrly
I have just bought the Christmas Shoes and I have enjoyed it so muchIs the the same Christmas Shoes movie that was an ABC movie of the week a couple of years ago. I think Kimberly Williams Paisley played the mom, and Rob Lowe also had a leading role? Based on Newsong's song "Christmas Shoes"? I love that movie. I didn't know it was on DVD. I'm going to have to find it now. Or put it on my "Dear Santa" list. lol
IceQueen
I'd watch the new one with DeVito and Broderick. At least that looks funny. Other than that National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is great. Yes, I am one of a few blasphemers that HATE COMPLETELY TOTALLY HATE SAPPY CHRISTMAS MOVIES :yuck: :yuck:

mesarobins
It's a Wonderful Life is my personal favorite, the only black and white movie I will watch."...here's to George Bailey, the richest man in town!" Love that movie, by the time they get to that line I am sobbing. Gets me every single time. Should be mandatory viewing for the "me" generation. If you haven't seen it you should watch it sometime time. Sappy? Maybe, but you can't miss or fail to appreciate the message.
