Worried for your life on BF?

Considering the events that unfolded with the PS3 lines, etc., are any of you worried about crime on BF? I.E., getting shot in line, mugged in line, jumped afterwards for high-demand items?

It just got me thinking about how badly I want something, and whether it's worth possibly getting jumped or something.

I have to admit that I am. Even if I had 4 huge guys with me, 2 or 3 scumbags yielding guns and demanding money won't be deterred. I'm afraid those jerks have given some bad people some great ideas for making quick cash this Friday.

I have been doing BF for years and I have really never worried about my safety. I use credit cards when I go BF shopping and when the bill comes I pay it off 100%. That way there is no cash on me and I get my El Al airline miles. Also I would say to have a cell phone with you. If stuff gets out of hand I would pick up the phone and dial 911. We had a drunk show up last year about 2 hours before opening at the BB I was at and I called 911 and told the call taker that there was a drunk here, told her what was going on and pointed out there are small kids in line and about 3 minutes later 2 one man units showed up and about 30 seconds after that 3 more one man units showed up.

Also with the game system you have to remember you are dealing with young people most of the time. As with BF you have alot of families and such.

Well I have to say that I can be sitting at a red light and have those thoughts, but this year my mother has decided to come out on BF after taking a few years off so I worry about her. She is a tough little lady, but I still worry someone may push her etc. She pushes back!

We will be at a WalMart SuperCenter and I have warned her we will have a plan, no stopping to shop lol get what is on our list and then head out.

Since we can wait inside we won't have to worry about the rush to get in, just the rush to get out, but when we head to Target that might be another story.

I’m not worried, my boyfriend will be with me and I always have mace my purse. :D

But what if someone had a gun then it would be a different story. There was a drive by shooting at Best Buy somewhere in IL during the PS3 release.

If you let fears take over on BF, then its ruined. I don't thing about "what if your robbed"when heading out. lol. Otherwise I'd be paranoid. No use in worrying about that here in my littlr township.

It was just a thought question. The line types ARE different, but some of the incidents were things like those idiots in KY shooting at folks with BBs like it was target practice or something.

I did the BF thing one year...no problems. Will probably do it again. Just thought I would ask the question. Maybe not to keep from going out, but rethinking things. IE, going out with more than one person, no cash, etc.

That's all :)

Nope, while there is profit potential on BF, no nearly close to what the PS3 brought. Nor does the hype of BF even come close to comparing to the PS3.

I wasn't worried at all until I went to pick up my Nintendo Wii at Toys R Us this morning. The man at the counter said that he'd better get me a bag for it so I don't get attacked while walking to my car. I'm still not really worried but it's always good to be alert.

I am not worried, as someone said earlier the crowds are differnt. PS3 there were only sometimes 5-10 at one place and every one was there for it, there isn't a line of 50 wanting only a toaster so I don't worry.
