theboyzmom
My sil just called me and asked if I saw Walmarts announcement on the news today....I did not, hopefully someone else here can verify... she said that Walmart stated since they lose so much money on BF that they are offering a lot of items at BF prices right now (I just posted about my lucky pricing with a LAW yesterday). No mention of midnight owl specials on the newsbradcast... anyone with further info? proof? disproof?

HBrewer
Hmmm...the article on NBC Nightly News's website really doesn't say anything at all, but that Walmart plans to discount stuff...and that Target may too. I was hoping for a concrete price drop for Target.
amickeyfan
I heard on this mornings news (my local news) that Walmart will be slashing prices on their Electronics to help their slumping sales for this quarter. That was about it... I am reading the link from above and it says that Walmart had a profit this quarter.. wonder why the conflicting info?? I really do not care as long as prices are "slashed" I am happy..

tdespain
Why would Wal-Mart start BF sales early if the sales are down? Do you realize how much of a profit Wal-Mart actually makes on BF? Wal-Mart makes next to no profit at all on BF. Starting the sales early would only hurt them even worse. Think about it. I don't know where people heard this, but I guarantee you it is completely false.

I don't know where people heard this, but I guarantee you it is completely false. Why would they do it? Because every time most of us go into that store we buy what we came for and so much more, so if you believe the prices are down now you will go there and not Target now and then again and again and again. The more traffic they get the better they do.
Princessarky
I would think that as much as walmart makes throughout the year one day of losing money wouldn't hurt them a bit, I might be costing them money on BF but I know when I spend about $800 a month every month on groceries in there they are more than making up for it. elena_398
I wouldn't mind buying most of my stuff before BF. That way it condenses where Im going and only have to go to a couple places. That is what Im finding this year. Better deals before BF

left210
Someone go head out to Target now - I just saw on the news they were slashing prices now and there were lots of people with carts walking around in the store with stuff in them. They said they are trying to get a jump on Walmart before they put an ad out. Someone go check and report back to us. PLEASE!
