blakes_mommy
Best Buy was terrible and all we wanted was cheap cd's for my cousin. The check out was even worse. I will skip it at all costs, even if I have to give her a few bucks to pick stuff up somewhere else!
daz
so far only 3 hours, but this year at BB I'll be going at 8pm the night before, and I don't even want any of the doorbusters! They are all on the fri/sat sale 22" monitor, $99 video card and JVC Mini DV $159 will all be in short supply and very hot and will all go very fast so I'm not taking any chances, the monitor alone is $300 off
bayhaysay
I think I remember standing in line years ago with my aunt and grandma at KBToys. I don't know for how long though, I was still a kid. I have always gone to a 24 hour walmart first thing so I've always been waiting inside. This year may be a different story. There are a few things I want at Sears and if walmart doesn't come up with something better and the office depot ad isn't very good that's where I'll be. I'll get there early enough to get the $10 GC's because I'll have my 11 yo daughter with me so that will be $20 to go toward our purchases. cmw1009
last year we went to Circuit City at 4am to get the Sirius radio & boombox that was on sale... we got it and we were out of the store within 10 mins
peachysquirt21
The longest I have waited was outside Target & it was around half hour or less.
BubbleTea
About 1.5 minutes last year outside of Best Buy. Got all the things I needed, the line to checkout was another story, as it took about two hours to accomplish that.
Bunniq
The longest I've ever waited in line was just over one hour. This year will be different as I will be inside a nice warm WalMart SuperCenter (I hope!), so I plan to early so I can get my PM items in my card, and find out where the WalMart doorbuster are so I can stand by the item I want the most. MarkRaby
I started doing Black Friday in 2002, when I was 16 years old. For the first couple years, I really didn't have a ton of money, of course, so waiting outside for hours didn't make sense for me. I'd get to JC Penney a couple minutes before they opened to get one of their snow globes, and then I'd hit any other stores I wanted, and since it was the small stuff I was interested in, I never really had a problem getting anything that was on my list. Last year was the first time I really had a purpose for going early. I got to Best Buy sometime between 2:00 and 3:00. I was about 25th in line (you have to remember, they did not have, or at least did not advertise, the door busters here so there was not as much excitement about the laptop and other stuff that you guys were all clamoring for), and got the two semi-big things I wanted (home theater system and a flat-panel PC monitor), allowing myself to get out of the store by 5:15. This year, since it seems Best Buy will at least be handing out tickets for the door busters (even if they don't put them in the flyer), and I have some big stuff to get this time, I plan on getting there around midnight. jrbriscoe
I will always remember one experience with my father. I was 12 and we were at walmart at around 4 in the morning. I remember as we stood in line the closer it got to opening time the more scavangers aka (people who will but in line as the doors open) I saw. Once the doors opened a fight broke out at the front of a line. A bunch guys were pushing this 300 lbs black woman forward so they could make a break for it to get around her. She then responded by holding the doors shut and that got 100 people pushing and shoving. That was AWSOME!!! But since I have had my own car I try to go to places like bb and target and khols. I have learned walmart is a place where you can get killed over a tickle me elmo. All of you going to walmart....good luck

The going price across the internet for an ATI X1600 Pro is $96 to $120. E-Wiz has a 256MB PCI-e for $96 and ZipZoomFly has a 512MB version for $119.99 shipped. Honestly, I don't know how Best Buy sells those cards for the claimed $199 price that's displayed in the ad. For $199, you can buy a 256MB Radeon X1950 Pro PCI-e video card from ZipZoomFly, shipped......a MUCH faster card than the X1600 Pro.
Roswell2005
We were there at 1am at CC and the 16 person in line. The person in front of us got the last ticket.
kselzer
The earliest I have gotten in line is 3am at CC 2 years ago for a 5am opening and last year 3:30am at BB for a 5am opening. I got my tv at CC no prob, I was probably 20th-30th in line and BB I was probably about 50th in line, but I just needed a computer game, a couple tv season dvd sets, and a handheld dirtdevil vacuum - and I got all of those no problem too. blssed2bme
I've never been to a Wal-Mart Super Center because there are other regular Wal-Mart's that are close to me. But can you really wait inside the store for the BF specials? Because maybe I'll make the drive to it to avoid the Minnesota cold.

But can you really wait inside the store for the BF specials? Because maybe I'll make the drive to it to avoid the Minnesota cold. There are two WalMarts close to me, but it is closed until 5am, but there is also a SuperCenter in the next state, and they were open last year all night. I didn't go there last year, but I plan to go there this year in hopes of getting the Cabbage Patch Doll. By Hwy it is only 15 minutes. You may want to call your local SuperCenter to see what their plans are for that day. I am going to call this year just to make sure they haven't changed plans from last year. pogiporkchop
Usually an hour at most since my husband thinks it's insane to wait any longer, but since we moved an hour away from town I think I'll be leaving my house a whole lot earlier than 3:

Gurnee Al
Last year I got to BB 30 min before they opened. Needless to say I was waaay back in line. I waited that 30 min, plus another 30 min after they opened before I got in. I didn't get my #1 priority - a Liteon DVD Recorder. (but I got it at Office max 30 min later). BTW, it was about 16 degrees that morning.
hnybee411
I honestly had never waited for more than like fifteen minutes before last year but BB had the Xmen legends II for 20 and I wanted it for DH. So I waited in line for like 45 minutes. Got in grabbed it (right by the registers) started to look around and thought what am I doing and got in line. I was like the fifth person to check out. Inside waits BB and TRU are ALWAYS the worst. And I totally agree about the kids in TRU. Usually they were screaming because their moms are going, no you can't have anything, we didn't come here for you. WTH? Poor kid.

rbellville
About 15 minutes last year at Wal-mart. Probably 100th in line. Got everything I wanted. Everything is on the other side of town. So everyone goes over there. We now have a SuperCenter on the other side of town, real close to CC, BB, Target, Big Lots and Kohl's. Hopefully, everyone will go there. Ours just started construction to become a SuperCenter. Hope that repells people also.
