hopeky94 Posted November 7, 2006 Share Posted November 7, 2006 Keep an eye out at K-Mart, Wal-Mart, and Dollar General stores, for an assortment of little things! I'm a Dale Jr. fan and my friend is a Dale Sr. fan. In recent years, I found a nice plastic tumbler with a picture of Dale Sr. printed onto it (may have been a Dale Jr. one too, don't remember) at K-Mart, as well as a soft-sided cooler and a notepad and pen set in various NASCAR drivers' colors/numbers at Dollar General! I've also seen NASCAR clothing at Wal-Mart and K-Mart in the men's clothing section (not sure about kids' sizes). The clothes aren't hard to find when they have them, but the other stuff you just have to hunt around some, usually near similar non-NASCAR items, and occasionally in the toy department. Also, check out the yellow pages for any NASCAR or racing specialty stores in your area-- while the new, bigger stuff there is expensive (like jackets and model cars), if they have any prior seasons' merchandise and/or smaller items (keychains, stickers, etc.), you should be able to get them for very reasonable prices! :) Last, NASCAR.com sells merchandise also, but you'd probably need to check out the smaller items and/or clearance there too. Not sure if you still have time to order from them though and get it in time for Christmas. This time of year they're backordered alot. I've been cruising some of the stores in the area (wal-mart namely) and have found a random assortment of stuff. :) Incl. a stocking, bear ornament, book, blanket, remote control racing car, replica collectible, and some candy (all with #8). Anyway, check out the toy ailse at Walmart and other stores. My guys like the #8 Rig and collectable cars. They are really inexpensive at Walmart. My guys are getting tickets to go to the Nascar race at Texas in 07 for Christmas. I am filling a box full of clues along with the tickets. I'm not sure how big your 11 year old is but my son is 12 and is 5'8" and wears a men's small t-shirt. Our school does not allow any type of alcohol advertising, including dale's bud items. My boss's son got sent home to get a different coat b/c he was wearing a dale jr uniform coat. The stuff in kid sizes generally doesn't have the big bud logo, but it is tougher to find in adult clothing sizes. The same is true for Kurt Busch (Miller lite) Reed Sorenson (coors) Dave Blaney and Clint Bowyer (hard liquor) but of course the school doesn't care if they wear shirts with casinos such as Robby Gordon. You may want to check your school's clothing policy before you spend a bunch of money on clothing b/c you'll end up with a disappointed young boy who won't be able to wear it to school. If you join now, you get the 2006 season, which is almost over. I printed up a neat page with Dale Jr. pictures showing my brother as a member of the 2007 fan club. Once the new 2007 items are available, I'll call and register him as a member. The paper I created for him just tells him to look for his package to arrive in February, when the race season starts. I got 2 dale jr t-shirts, one for 8.00 & the other for 10.00. I also got a hat for 10 bucks. Other nascar clothing they had: LS Tees, Button down jean shirts, jersey's, and jackets. I'm not a follower of Jr's so things may have changed, I'm not 100% sure, but I do know I have read several articles about.
