Gloey Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 This to me, is the dumbest thing yet! there is a picture here http://www.shout.net/~bigred/InvertedXmas.html I think its the weirdest thing yet.
cotejb Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 It's the dumbest idea I've seen...SOmething out of the grinch that stole christmas.........
Ripn Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Yes...Looks like a good way to keep the cat out :)
bayhaysay Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Yes...Looks like a good way to keep the cat out :)I think the cat would still be able to get in it.
love2beurwifey Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Thats a first. I bet someone will get one
gingersunshine Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 saw them last year. they kind of grow on you after a while, or at least they did me.
peachysquirt21 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Yes I have. I thought ooooooooook what is the object to this. LOL
able Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 was this invented so people would buy more stuff now that theres more room under the tree?.. it didnt seem like a terrible idea(takes up less floor space) till i read about the tree points to heaven. then it became a bad idea to point it down!
Firemansgal311 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I saw them last year and thought they were weird. But after seeing the ones that were decorated I thought they were pretty neat. Because you could see the ornaments alot better and there was so much room for presents. I still wouldn't have one though they just don't fit what is our norm so to each thier own I guess. :)
EmConMom Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Too me it looks like an accident waiting to happen LOL. All I can see is a 4 yo and 1 yo trapped underneath the tree after they tried to climb it.
kbasketcr8r Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 That's stupid, I just don't get the point.ha ha- "point" - I get it:p
ms_mckenna Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I remember seeing these when I was like 12 and thinking they were very cool. Course 20 years later I am not so sure .
bayhaysay Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 ha ha- "point" - I get it:p I didn't get it. I didn't do that on purpose, lol.
JustJules Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 This to me, is the dumbest thing yet! there is a picture here http://www.shout.net/~bigred/InvertedXmas.html I think its the weirdest thing yet.The young couple next door has had one for 2 years. I think that it is Pretty-UGLY.They had it in their front yard last year, hanging from the tree.
maeday Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 In a bar I worked in years ago, we put the tree on the ceiling, hanging down. It was a pain in the but, so we left it up all year and decorated for every holiday. But This one takes the cake. It does not get the same effect as on the ceiling.
cleverbffool Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Space saving yes, ugly and impractical for a traditonal family yes.
Cecilliadb Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 They save several set up and decorated in the Christmas store at the mall...they just don't look like Christmas trees to me.
Edgemonster Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Oh my gosh! I just saw one of these at Menards yesterday and thought somebody was really tired of putting trees up and did this for fun...had no idea it was for real. Too weird!
g-man430 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 What will they come up with next. The upside down stocking or maybe they'll bring back Elvis. No wait, the upside down inflatable santa and snowman.
heavenlysshine Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 The "hanging" tree is from some 12th century thing they used to do. Read more here: http://www.hammacher.com/publish/72376.asp
Melissa Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I saw them for the first time last year. They look ridiculous if you ask me.
Firemansgal311 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Well, how's this one for a thorn in your side? LMAO. I Think I would have one of these being in Texas, I would probably put it on my front porch. http://s7ondemand1.scene7.com/is/image/Hammacher/73169?wid=180
g-man430 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I'm going to be standing in line all night for that one.
lisamag Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 i think it's the funny looking. it made us laugh, and if you go tothe thread "Cats - can I keep her out of the tree?" there a pic someone put in that shows a tree hanging from the ceiling, lol now thats funny. i'm wondering how they decorated it.
rogue1230 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 The "hanging" tree is from some 12th century thing they used to do. Read more here: http://www.hammacher.com/publish/72376.aspTHANK YOU HEAVENLY~~~ I qas shocked that no one seemed to know that UPSIDE DOWN is how the christmas tree started!
rgroves Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I've seen them for the last 10 years or so. But the ones I've seen were hung from the ceiling so the possibility of them "falling over" were not possible. THe tree was a smaller tree (about 4-5 foot) and whe hung from teh ceiling it was up off the floor be a good 3 foot. I thkn it looks wierd, but who am I to tell somoe how to put pu their tree or how to decorate it. Everyone has thier "thing" and I'll let them express it until they try to push it on me or it interferes with what I'm doing.
sammy50 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I think it's just wrong. I wouldn't be comfortable with that at all (plus our ceilings are 23 ft high and that would be a real challenge!)
BEE4 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 This year was my first time seeing these. I went to American Sale and they were all over the place and even in different colors, blue, red and natural green. Looked verrrrry weird.
