angel-too Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 I just picked her up at Sams Club for $239.... She's cute and very intractive but her motorized movements are pretty loud, mechanical. Also, I thought when you 'rode' her, she bounced, she doesn't. She moves her head back and forth and makes trotting noises. I certainly wouldn't pay more then I did for her. She's great for an older child who loves horses, yet the limit is 80lbs.
Gloey Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 As much of a toy spender as I am, I couldn't justify the price on this one!
natansyd Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 We saw her at Target today. The girls did get excited about her, but not so excited that they were begging for her. I can see them getting bored with it very quickly.
tazolover Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 It was at my Target on Tuesday of this week and I saw 1 being wheeled out into the parking lot and 1 being put onto a cart. The display was adorable. The price tag left me speechless!
Mommy2Four Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I thought it was cute when I saw it at Sams today, but I thought DD would get bored with it too soon. She would go crazy over it for awhile though....
galax_mom5 Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 My local TRU is offering at $299 but you can put one on hold for $50 and it'll be available on 11/17. I will NOT be one of those people
sagesage Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Didn't get one after seeing the issues you described above. The jerky movements and loud mechanical noises. After seeing that me and my wife decided to get out daughter the cottage playhouse at samsclub. She will not outgrow it for several years. If anyone decides to get one I would advise to purchase it at sams they have an excellent return policy should it break down the road.
raydees Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 As much of a toy spender as I am, I couldn't justify the price on this one!I agree:yup: I seen it @ Target was didn't think DD would like it to much
Gloey Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Didn't get one after seeing the issues you described above. The jerky movements and loud mechanical noises. After seeing that me and my wife decided to get out daughter the cottage playhouse at samsclub. She will not outgrow it for several years. If anyone decides to get one I would advise to purchase it at sams they have an excellent return policy should it break down the road.I think you made a really good decision!
angel-too Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 I'm still debating on this one:confused: ....I may take it back to Sams. I'll get opinions from family members.
magickallight Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 When my girls (NOW ages 22 and 24) were little they would have died for this horse... but my 10 year old son thinks it's stupid... go figure... maybe some granddaughters will soon be on the way so I can get them one.
Diamond_girl Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 That thing scared the crap out of me and my friend in Target!! I was thinking about getting it for my goddaughter, but like others said it was too mechanical-sounding and I thought she was a little too "hard" underneath, I guess I was expecting her to be more plush. My goddaughter isn't dying for it, she's more into Dora, so I felt very comfortable passing it up.
Melissa Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 We saw it on display at Target and my girls liked it, but I can see the novelty wearing off very quickly. Plus, the price is more than I'm willing to spend. I also agree that the movements are too mechanical and loud!
amyers12345 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Does anyone realize that you can have a real pony for what that costs? I haven't been to a sale lately, but a few months ago, you could have had 3 ponies for that.
elena_398 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 My daughter fell in love with it at Walmart several days ago. They had 5 in stock. Cute, but way too pricey for me
sissykus Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Everytime I go into our target I see someone standing at glaring at it. They always expect everyone around to ooh and ahh with them, I dont see the big deal.
shopping mom Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 My DD3 did not give it the time of day, I said look a horse, she looked and kept on walking.
flea Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 My 4yo saw it and promptly said she wanted one, I don't have room for it! I told her NO!
Tracy72 Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 dd seen it today and wanted it....I just dont think the mechanicals in the head will last very long.....and the price....nope.
nnmfam Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 No way would I spend that much on a toy. Ameyers is right my 4 year odls friends grnadpa has a pony farm she can go ride there anytime.
Sunshyne Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I saw this at Target, and my son was completely uninterested, but all the little girls were enthralled with it! I went back a week later and it was not working. The neck had broken...they've taken it off display now.
