Guest bluesrule9 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Ok, time to admit... Who's still buying the annual bears...you know, K-Mart, Wa-Mart, etc. We still do. I have to find a couple to plug some gaps, but we have almost every year since the beginning.
shanni Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I get them, the day after xmas when they are 50% off
Stowasser Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I officially stopped with the 1999 Millennium one, collected over 10 years and got the boy/girl of each so I have three boxes of bears that I put out in our mud room with a tree each year. Had to stop (ok kinda of) got some of the snowden snowmen from Target, love them but if they are not in clearance, don't get them!
Firemansgal311 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I don't have any but I did have a couple when I was younger. I still want those Gingerbread kids they had at Target years ago. ;(
peachysquirt21 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I havent but when my grandma was alive, she always had to buy these. She was a bear freak. If you saw her apartment you would just die over the stuff she had.
Bunniq Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I stopped three years ago after realizing just how many stuffed animals I had collected, but before that I would buy one each and every year. Donated most of what I had, and haven't purchased another stuffed animal since. (Except for the Bath and Body Works Bear last year. That was a deal!)
bayhaysay Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 My stepdad's mom still buys those...after Christmas! Which I guess wouldn't be so bad but then she gives them to my kids as Christmas gifts for the next year and they all have the previous year embroidered very clearly on the foot of each bear.
Illinoismom Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 I used to but my older one, one every year up until three years ago when she asked me not to, she was 17 I guess she thougth she was too old for it
Cecilliadb Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Not I but Sears has a 2006 moose that is soooo cute and my son loves him so I might pick it up on sale.
jellybean051901 Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 My sis and I always bought those for my mom. Since we got into college though we kind of stopped and put the money towards more useful items. I was at Kmart about two or three weeks ago and they had the holiday bears out.
Guest bluesrule9 Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 We did the buying after Christmas thing, that's why we have a couple missing from the set...they ran out...
tokanm Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Do the beanie ones count? Do you remember the craze there was about them. I had a friend who was all consumed by finding and collecting them. She was convinced they were a great investment:giggle: Now they are a dime a dozen at yard sales etc! I do have a few beanies I must admit, the angel bear with white iridescent wings, Princess Diana bear, the multicolored bear and the Irish bear. Plus I do have a couple that my DS's got me for gifts when they were younger.
Melissa Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Nope, the last thing we need is more stuffed animals in this house!
ChrisKsAngel Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 I bought a couple for my daughter, thinking she would like them, but they never get played with so I stopped buying them. I never played with the ones I got as a child either.
sns128 Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 My kids only have one (from the year they were born). They've never been played with.
blakes_mommy Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Not for me, we don't have the space for them.
