momof5plus1hubby Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 On Thanksgiving? I love to watch for the balloons. I am hoping they have a car one this year. My son would go nuts. LOL Chrissy
ccarson1972 Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I usually turn it for the kids and I try to watch some of it, but I am usually getting the turkey in the oven.
Novac Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I usually turn it on as soon as I get up and ignore it for the rest of the day. Helpful hint: I find that the parade is much more bearable on mute.
Turtle Mommy Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I love to watch with the kids!Me too!
f1rstclass Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Wouldn't be Thanksgiving if we didn't have the parade on, looking through the BF ads, and planning our strategy for the next morning!!! :)
StephanieD Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I HAVE to watch the parade every year. I'm always ready for Christmas, but it really kicks the season into high gear for me. I love it! :)
Stowasser Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Yes and just found out there is one on Christmas, might tune that in! Maybe on a new TV....LOL
Mommyof2 Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Always watch it! Trying to start a tradition for my two little ones!
cre8kos4u Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Wouldn't be Thanksgiving if we didn't have the parade on, looking through the BF ads, and planning our strategy for the next morning!!! :) Agree with you 100%!!!
mtallen Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Wouldn't be Thanksgiving if we didn't have the parade on, looking through the BF ads, and planning our strategy for the next morning!!! :)I Agree!!
misshayley Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I try to watch it, but if I'm not going to be somewhere where it will be on, I'll tivo it and then watch it later
starshine Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 It isn't Turkey Day without Macy's parade. I have never missed a year from birth and neither has my son. He must see Santa or it's just not the start of Christmas. Even tho he is 9 and Santa is really not his thing this year he still loves to see him.
RossMAN Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Only if there is nothing else on TV and we're bored out of our minds.
Melissa Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 We put it on every year, but I don't sit there continuously and watch the whole thing.
elena_398 Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 On Thanksgiving day, they always play Miracle on 34th street so I watch that. lol. Tradition. Though I seem to be the only one following it as the rest of the family leaves me
SuperMommy Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 Yeah, we usually turn it on. It just a tradition kind of thing.
Shirley89015 Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 I love watching the parade. We all watch it at my home. Shirley
Gporter34 Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 We watch the parade every year. It's a tradition for us.
Cecilliadb Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Yup yup :) Can't wait to see my little guys face when he watches it for the first time and is talks about it!
Novac Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 One of the reasons I don't pay attention to the parade is that the announcers drive me batty every single year.
carheel Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 We put it on every year, but I don't sit there continuously and watch the whole thing.i am with you, i listen to it more than i watch it. the best part of it is santa coming, once my kids know santa is on its way they go into there room,
bugsette Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 yep... when I was little and even now and my kids love it. I've always wanted to go to NY for the parade
rogue1230 Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Absolutley!!!! The parade starts just as I am wrapping up breakfast and just before Hor Devours (sp?) go out! It's a perfect little " i have done some work- turkey is ineed I need a bit o relaxin" break.
glitterstarr Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 We don't watch it because none of us are really big on parades of any kind. If it was only me in the house the TV would never get turned on until it was time for CSI. LOL
sns128 Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 I'm like alot here, I normally have it on but don't just sit and watch. If something happens I missed while walking around doing other stuff, I just back my Tivo up and watch it again. My kids love the balloons, I can't wait to see what they have this year.
StephanieD Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 yep... when I was little and even now and my kids love it. I've always wanted to go to NY for the paradeAs much as I love watching the parade on TV, I've never had the desire to see it in person. I just don't know if it'd be as fun. I've heard that the onlookers basically camp out there early in the morning to get a good spot. I just don't know if I would enjoy it. Has anyone ever been to the parade?
