We are thinking of getting our daughter an Ipad.  I know nothing about them and reading the differences really have not helped..lol

I know I need one that will work with cellular and wi-fi.  She is 18 and is not a gamer so that aspect is not important.  She plays piano and sings in church all the time.  So, she has said she would love to have one for all of her lyrics instead of having to keep her big binder with her all the time.  She would also use it for Facetime and maybe stream movies.  She will be starting college next fall as well (for cosmetology) and I've read that you can use ipads to take notes.

What does everyone suggest to buy for this type of usage?

I'm sorry that no one responded.

Research if she needs cellular (is she in an area where she needs access to the internet that has no wifi or is the wifi quality poor?)

What type of notetaker is she? Does she like to write things down, or does she type? I had an ipad Pro for work - purchased a keyboard and a pencil as I still liked to write by hand notes. I would get the smaller model because I had the larger one and it was hard to drag that around. However, you can do all of this with an ipad 10th gen now. I bought goodnotes as an app; you can also use Microsoft OneNote. I haven't tried to draw/write within Google Drive/Docs.

I recommend you go with her to a store and check out the sizes, and see if it's large enough for her to see the sheet music on, and go from there.

US Cellular has good deals on iPads if you are upgrading your phones. Otherwise it is about $79 a month for 3 years for a 13 inch iPad and service. I just did some research yesterday as I am also looking for one.

I picked up a 9th generation regular iPad (64GB) last night at Costco for 199, as a gift for DH. I think that was the same deal Best Buy was offering, but Costco still had plenty in the store. They had the 10th generation also, but I don’t remember exactly how much they were. If you have a Costco nearby it’s definitely worth a look.

Just looking real quick. Sam’s has a 10th gen for $299 right now. Not the best deal ever. Maybe someone will have a better deal soon.
