Brad Posted June 5 Author Posted June 5 Saw that Costco is testing out a version of Scan & Go. I tend to go to Sam's more often for that reason alone. If Costco rolls it out nationwide I'd probably shop there more than I do now.
cllehto Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I had a Costco membership years ago. It was similar to Sam's club so I dropped the Costco and kept Sam's because there is one within driving distance of my parents in Maine so I could use it there. I like it for the cheaper gas and deals I find. I used to send stuff to relatives but send much less frequently since even with the plus membership you have to spend over $50 to get free shipping (better to go with Walmart+ or Amazon Prime for the free shipping). They say the Plus is guaranteed to save you more than it costs. IDK if it does any more- they used to just count savings and now count what shipping would be plus instant savings (which you can get without Plus) and any other sale discounts (which you can also get without Plus). I like being able to go in early before the crowds come at the regular opening and they do have a discount drug list for Plus members which might be cheaper than your insurance or on something nor covered by insurance. My friend has a Costco membership so if I want something I can ask her to get it for me- but most stuff is the same although some stuff is cheaper one place or the other.
freesia39 Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I do not have a Sam's or BJs anywhere near me, so I only go to Costco, but I'm there practically every other week. Both will have necessities - I like the variety of products Costco has. See if your area has a Costco FB group - I'm in two here, and they're always posting things on clearance, new items, the promotional shows that are there that week showing off their items, etc.

We got Walmart Plus here last year for 1/2 off. We always get free shipping with low dollar orders. Ship to our house or relatives. Not sure if different in other states?? 1
Gator Pam Posted June 6 Posted June 6 My landlords son’s birthday is next week, but my landlords are going to visit him this weekend. I generally bake some sort of goody for his birthday. This year it is This Old’s Instant Pot plain New York cheesecake with homemade strawberry glaze and strawberries. It will chill overnight and go up with my landlords tomorrow. I increase the recipe for an 8”x3” push pan, but the recipe is written for a 6”x3” pan. Jill gives directions for increasing the size for different diameter pans to keep the thickness consistent. 3
rockpzazz Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Another month, and another month of wild weather. Flooding has been an issue lately, and a few more tornadoes around the state, but luckily we've been exempt from both. Aside from the pool of water along our sidewalk. Otherwise its perfect garage sale weather, if I could get motivated to go to some.

Bopeep Posted Wednesday at 05:39 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:39 PM Looking forward to Prime Day & Christmas in July next month! I got my shopping started yesterday with Fanatics and Walmart clearance sales, thanks to GottaDEAL . Ordered a few things from B&BW semi-annual sale that are cheaper now than they will be on body care day in December. I'm off to a decent start, but just still looking at all the blanks on my list . 2

Maybe separate discussions for each event? What to get and What I got? Convince me to subscribe to Prime again! 2 1

We are doing something a little different this year - since HEAT more than cold keeps us inside down here - we are doing Thanksgiving Dinner in June, Christmas Dinner in July and New Years Day Dinner the first of August. Can't find a turkey down here this time of year anywhere - so am hoping to get a turkey breast and try it in a crock pot - we shall see. We will still do the traditional timetables on the the REAL holidays, but decided this may add a little fun to our lives despite the terrible heat and humidity, and thanks to Hallmark and Great American Family channel we can watch Christmas movies while we celebrate. 1 2
