RossMAN Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 Hi lollylala, Welcome to the forums :) 1) Yes we expect several stores to give away free gift cards to their first customers. However we won't know for sure until we see the confirmed Black Friday ads. Sears will be offering a free $10 gift card:http://www.askross.com/GottaDeal_Sears_BF_Ad_000.jpg 2) Regarding last years Black Friday ads, we have a list here. Are you excited about the upcoming Hot Deals? I know that we are
n13n13 Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 Penney's gives out a disney snowglobe (small) to the customers. I already got to see this years and darn it if I didn't already forget what it looks like. I do believe there is only Mickey again this year.

shelhop Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 Seems like Big Lots always gives out a couple of freebies. Last year, if I recall, it was a gift card with a "secret" amount that was revealed at the register. And then they also gave away little radios.
genoandkiddo Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 I know up here in the boonies, Our grocery stores give out gift cards with a lottery feel. you can win up to 1000 dollars. It's awesome.
Jaidensmom Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 Didn't K-mart have a coupon they were handing out for early birds last year? I could be wrong but for some reason I do recall that.
DestinyFaith Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 I think McRays ways giving out prizes, like gift amounts and also a Diamond Ring, etc...off in Cracker Jack Boxes....... hmmmmm or was that Dillards?
Rebirth Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Didn't last year Target gave out gift cards too?
crys Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 My Target didn't give out any giftcards. I am in North Central Ohio. I was 20th or so in line.
geekswife Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 KMart gave out GCs last year. The amount was revealed at checkout. I think they ranged from $1-$500. I was #2 in the door and my GC was for $5. Unfortunately I was in such a rush to head to Wal-Mart that I forgot to use mine, LOL. Amy
RossMAN Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 Amy - The Walmart GC you forgot to use, was it only valid on Black Friday?
geekswife Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 It was KMart, and yes, Black Friday ONLY! Blah!
sunshine Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 For the last few years I found a $10.00 coupon for Macy's in the newspaper part instead of in the ads.
dmws61 Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 The only place they my sister and I got a Freebie at was JCPenny.
Gumball Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 It used to be that just about everybody had some kind of giveaway item to hand out on BF. Now the few places that actually give out something are getting scarce anymore. Does anybody know if Big Lots will have anything like that this year?
Ebayordeath Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 Big Lots is a big deal in my area. They have given something free every year to the first 50 or so. I have never got in on the deals there. Do they usually have anything worth waiting for?
musicmark Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 A couple years ago, Kohls advertised $10 coupons to first XX, or maybe it was certain hours. The coupons were good the next weekend, and had a minimum $10 purchase. So it was just a $10 bribe to get you to come back again. When we got to the checkout, we rang up two purchase for two people, instead of one, just to get two coupons. Then came back around lunch time for one more. I mention this because they did the same thing last year--but did NOT advertise it. So don't go to Kohls counting on getting it if it's unadvertised, but be aware that it could happen and plan your strategy accordingly. ---Mark
BFQueenofNY Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 I just got an email from Rue 21 (it is a ladies store usually in malls) and they are giving away a free camera to the first 100 people at 7am when they open
venerdinero Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 For the last few years I found a $10.00 coupon for Macy's in the newspaper part instead of in the ads.Remember - Department Stores tend to run huge multipage ads IN the paper itself!! Even if you don't read the paper remember to look through it for these ads with valuable coupons!! also some smaller or local stores may ONLY advertise within the paper!!

We always buy the Sunday newspaper well worth the $1.50 price and it's good bathroom throne reading material
masilke Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 The PX ( Army & Air Force Exchange ) is giving away $ 20 Gift cards to the first 100 customers and will have instore drawings for $ 25 gift cards. Plus for the first 2 hours they are giving 10% coupons off one item up to $ 500. A real let down from last year but still better than nothing.

I think $20 and 10% off is looking pretty sweet compared to what others are offering so far so they have jumped to the top of my list. I'm wondering how busy it will be and what time to get there.
