cronos
yes I do! which brand of HD is most stable?if i am buying a HD right now i would buy a Seagate, mostly because of it's 5 years warranty.
Ankit
if i am buying a HD right now i would buy a Seagate, mostly because of it's 5 years warranty. As far as I know, not all of their models have a 5 year warranty. For the most part, pick from Seagate, Maxtor, or Western Digital. I haven't ever used a Samsung drive unless it's in the laptop or tablet pc I have at home. Those first three brands are the major players in the HD market and honestly how long they last really depends on the batch and on how you use them. If you keep your system on as much as possible with very few reboots, it will last longer. The more often you turn your system on or off, the lower it's life. It's like if you turn your car on and off 10 times within a short period of time, versus just leaving it on the whole time. You might save a little gas, but the life of it will be lower.
