AndreaInNC Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 To get ready I just made a batch of brownies for a party tonight. I put 1/2 the batter in the pan, then do a layer of Hershey bars, then put the remaining batter on the top. Soooo yummy!! 2
dantegirl Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 The boys and I discovered Christmas "crack" a couple of years ago. It is so good and a huge hit at parties. Be forewarned, it's highly addictive! https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/11376/saltine-toffee-cookies/?internalSource=hub%20recipe&referringContentType=Search I use red and green m&m's to dress it up for the kids and nuts for work parties. It's super easy to make, hardest part is waiting for it to cool. 2

Another cookie recipe I might try this year...the most expensive item will be the nuts, but the other ingredients are so inexpensive so it evens out...

She called them "pine bark".

Bopeep Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 Funny story... I am making cookies with royal icing for my niece's baby shower in a couple weeks. Since I've never made royal icing, I made a practice run over the weekend. My son comes in while I'm baking, I turn around and he has a mouth full of cookie. I said "Seriously? You have no idea what i'm baking these for, you don't know if I needed a certain number of cookies, what if I hadn't had enough for you to start eating them??" Him: "what? I thought they were Christmas cookies." Me: "It's OCTOBER!" Him: "SO? You start celebrating Christmas in JULY!!!". He kinda had me there (but seriously, I don't start making Christmas cookies this early. LOL). 5
