My dd17 asked for a typewriter for christmas. Where should i start looking?

Check ebay out or goodwill or any other thriftshop. Just make sure it still works well or on amazon you can get keyboards for a computer that act like a typewriter.

I had flashbacks reading this. Typing a paper and it jamming or smearing and having to redo it. Oh my poor fingers. I had the old one that you had to stay with your fingers to get it to work. Oh the horror. ..

I had flashbacks reading this. Typing a paper and it jamming or smearing and having to redo it. Oh my poor fingers. I had the old one that you had to stay with your fingers to get it to work. Oh the horror. ..

Onion skin paper that you needed that special eraser pencil with the brush on the end or carbon paper.I was so happy to have that typewriter that had the white-out ribbon so you could backspace,retype the mistake with the white ribbon,then type your correct key! Kids today can't even conceive the horror of typing term papers on typewriters!

I love this! I just looked it up.  It actually sounds like a typewriter.  I need this, although, I don't use a tablet so I wouldn't use it.  Pretty expensive decoration.

They still make ribbons for them, even the old ones.

Did you find one yet? I have one that is still in it's original box unopened. It might be costly to ship since its heavy but if you are interested private message me and I will send pictures and check on mailing costs.
